Our Friday lunchtime player picks for PlayON, the weekly Fantasy Football game, arrives once again. Scouring the PlayON Price List for potential bargains ahead of tomorrow’s afternoon deadline at 13.07, we look to Southampton and Everton to bring home the points, with favourable fixtures against the bottom two on their respective agendas:

This week PlayON have a £1,000 GUARANTEED game on offer – you can pick your team to win the cash here.

If you’re new to PlayON, it is weekly Fantasy Football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built, you can compete for cash. You can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 52% win rate up to this point. You can also create an open challenge against anyone else on the site – just click the amount you want to play for and the number of slots (number of people who can accept your challenge) on the one-on-one page .

For a more in-depth introduction to PlayON, take a look at this season’s introduction article.

Goalkeeper – Asmir Begovic
Coming in at 8.8m, the Stoke stopper looks a strong contender for a clean sheet this weekend. The Potters have conceded just once in their last three at the Britannia and entertain a Newcastle side that have scored a single goal in their last five league matches and remain devoid of the services of injured top scorer Loic Remy. Alternatively, there are a couple of options in the sub 7.0-bracket if you’re looking for a cut-price keeper. Both Aston Villa’s Brad Guzan and Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris are available for just 6.8m apiece in the PlayON Player Price List ahead of trips to Crystal Palace and West Brom respectively – Tony Pulis’ side have scored once in their previous three home games, whilst the Baggies have drawn blanks in two of the last five Gameweeks.

Defender – Leighton Baines
If you’re looking for a premium target, the Everton left-back could be the ideal purchase for tomorrow’s trip to Sunderland. With Gus Poyet employing a 3-5-2 formation, Roberto Martinez will surely overload the flanks to take advantage of the Black Cats’ porous defence – at 10.3m, Baines isn’t cheap but his delivery from the left is likely to pose the Wearsiders problems aplenty. Southampton’s highly-rated left-back Luke Shaw sets you back 8.7m this week ahead of a favourable home clash with struggling Cardiff. Mauricio Pochettino’s side go in search of their thirteenth clean sheet of the season, and bearing in mind the Bluebirds have scored in only two of their away trips under Ole Gunner Solskjaer, Shaw looks likely to pick up the points. Despite losing his right-back berth to Johnny Heitinga under new Fulham boss Felix Magath, Sascha Riether has still retained a starting position. The German has been shifted into central midfield in the last couple of matches and, costing only 6.8m in this week’s PlayON Price List, looks a standout budget enabler as the Cottagers prepare for the visit of a Norwich side that has failed to score in each of their last two matches.

Midfielder – Willian
With Eden Hazard rated a real doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Swansea, the competition for places has lessened a little. Despite grabbing a goal in last weekend’s comprehensive win over Stoke, Willian remains relatively budget-friendly at just 8.3m and will be hoping to continue his form against a defence that have managed a single shut-out in their last eight matches. Adam Lallana is available for 10.3m ahead of a home game against Cardiff – the Saints skipper clearly prefers home comforts, with six of this season’s nine strikes arriving at St Mary’s. Nacer Chadli is available for just 8.6m for Tottenham’s trip to West Brom. The Belgian impressed an a central role against Sunderland last weekend and offers a budget-friendly route into Tim Sherwood’s attacking options against a Baggies backline that have mustered just one clean sheet since Pepe Mel took the helm.

Forward – Sergio Aguero
After three months on the sidelines, the Argentine finally looks set to return to action just in time for City’s vital trip to Anfield on Sunday afternoon. With 15 goals in just 17 league appearances this season, Aguero’s comeback couldn’t be better timed as Manuel Pellegrini’s side look for a win which could have major repercussions in the title race – available for a paltry 7.9m, he’ll be on many a Fantasy manager’s radar this week. Further up the cash brackets, Rickie Lambert will set you back 12.0m for Southampton’s home encounter with a Cardiff side that have conceded 12 times in their last three matches. The hosts may be without injured top scorer Jay Rodriguez, but Lambert welcomes the Bluebirds in excellent form, having scored in three of his last four appearances. Romelu Lukaku at 12.4m cannot be overlooked for Everton’s trip to Sunderland. The big Belgian has wreaked havoc in recent weeks, scoring four times in six matches since returning from injury, and looks poised to maintain that streak against a defence that has just shipped five goals to Tottenham on Monday evening.

How do I look for this week, any advice. Please talk me out of going Dzeko -> Aguero for -4:

    MANNONE - (Boruc)

    WARD - KOMPANY - COLEMAN - (Terry - Bassong)

    Eriksen - Gerrard - BARKLEY - YAYA - (Hazard)

    Suarez - DZEKO - LUKAKU

5.5 ITB, could do Hazard -> Lallana & bench Gerrard?

I think that is a very strong team for next GW but would prefer a City striker as 3 City mids is overkill. Would also consider a different captain as I'm not a fan of captaining defenders. (8/10)

For me the choice for captaincy is between Baines and Lukaku. Not tempted by any of the Man City players due to the very slight chance that they don't get enough minutes.

I would probably prefer to captain Lukaku but isn't there a chance that he may get rotated? Martinez has said that he will rotate his forward players.

Baines on the other hand is nailed on but perhaps not quite as explosive.

I doubt Lukaku will be rotated.. But I still think Baines as he's more of a differential and Lukaku tends to fail vs the weakest teams.

Oh yeah true enough, it's just that 51 chances conceded in the box in the last four matches is really high by any standards...in fact the highest by a distance. Hopefully they'll improve or carry on riding their luck.

I don't trust Lukaku vs the weak teams though, and City's midfield might produce nothing over this DGW..

Asked this yesterday but giving it another try,
    Already have 7 DGW players, getting Aguero as well tonight, but;

    1) Studge, Haz -> Aguero and Eriksen (no hits, 1.5 ITB)
    2) Studge, Haz + AJ -> Kun, Silva and Punch (-4, 0.0 ITB)

The hit seems kind of stupid when my team already looks decent, but would love Silva as my third City player

          Mannone

Koscielny (swapping out Fonte) Evra (swapping out Coleman) Cahill

Yaya Nasri (could be my differential) Mata (swapping for Gerrard) Eriksen

Rooney (swapping out Lukaku) Aguero Suarez

    4 point hit worth it?
Zabaleta* (to free up city spot) to Baines
    Hazard to Eriksen
    Sturridge to Aguero

    Mannone
    Baines Ward Coleman
    Yaya Silva AJ Eriksen
    Suarez Aguero Lukaku

    Azpi Chester Noone.

*:take Stones instead of Baines to do Lukaku to Sturridge next week.

    Thanks alot.

So, with the Aguero craze taking off, what would be your your choice between the following
plan A or plan B (both for -4 hit)?

    Plan A:

    MANNONE
    COLEMAN STONES DANN
    YAYA SILVA Gerrard Eriksen
    AGUERO LUKAKU(c) Suarez
    Lukaku->Adebayor for GW35

    Plan B
    MANNONE
    COLEMAN BAINES DANN
    YAYA SILVA NASRI Eriksen
    LUKAKU(c) Sturridge Suarez
    Lukaku->Aguero for GW35

No chance in hell I'm even sticking him in my team! Burnt me twice already, only touched the ball once, and that was from kick off, in his last 45 mins. Don't see him even starting unless they really need him to come on, hence why Dzeko was taken off with 20 mins to go in last game...

Pelle regularly subs his strikers in the second half, can't draw conclusions from that. Negredo needing confidence and minutes is just as likely a reason for the Dzeko sub.

Aguero was useless away at Barca, coming back from his previous injury.

    Mignolet

    Coleman Bassong Dann

    Mirallas Yaya Sidwell Hazard

    Dzeko Sturridge Adebayor

    Subs: Springthorpe, Mata, Davies, Fabio

    4.1m in the bank

would you go down the Aguero route or the lukaku route?

Get rid of studge or ade & why?

Beware Aguero, no guarantee he will start, was below poor in the last game he started, and will be ducking out of 50:50 opportunities as doesn't want a re-occurrence of his injury before the WORLD CUP...

He got injured on the 11th minute hence the poor performance. Alternatively he'll try to win the league and be on form heading to the world cup? Even if Dzeko is to start alone vs Liverpool that only means Aguero is more likely to start vs Sunderland and that is the better scenario

where are people getting this lukaku fails against weaker teams
hull palace sunderland cardiff fulham are only times he has failed to get goal or assist when playing at least 60 min
he has scored or assisted against almost all of weak teams

I think he burnt a lot of people when he was the stand out choice, plus Cardiff, Fulham and Sunderland are the weakest teams along with Norwich

ok but he has scored 8 of his 13 goals against non top 7 teams.
not as bad as people indicate, especially when he has only played 60 plus minutes in 24 games this year.

No news really, Chelsea website said something along the lines of ''Chelsea will head into the Swansea game without the influential Hazard'' but they could be wrong, we'll get no confirmation cause Mourinho has cancelled the press conference. He's most likely injured but probably only for this week

Ok I have sold Hazard for Eriksen on the assumption he is going to miss 2 -3 games. I still have Mata and Noone and want Aguero in for Sturridge. Have 1 more FT so looking at -4 hit this week.

My plan is to now keep Mata in anticipation for his juicy fixtures coming up and sell Noone for Puncheon, DGW and a stick-on 1st sub for the rest of the season. I also have Bruce on my bench and really not wanting to get caught short with non-playing subs.

                Would leave me with

                Boruc
                Distin Kompany Ivan (flanagan bruce)
                Eriksen Silva Snodgrass Puncheon (Mata)
                Aguero Suarez Lukaku

PS I'd rather have Aguero than Yaya as my 3rd Man City player 🙂
