They can't score or assist (mostly) and have to rely on saves to boost their points. This makes GKs like Cech and Hart unattractive as you'd rather pay that much money for a JT/Ivan/Zaba

Many teams and defenders and GK's keep more than 10 clean sheets each season. No defender scores those numbers. Even midfielders (3) and even forwards (12) who score 10+ goals are rare, much more rare than defenders/GK's (34) who keep clean sheets.

Whilst there's a few folk on and to add to I am not for Kinnears comment on goalie points....Just a question from a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised to see the very different scoring mechanism for the UFPL game, does anybody think it may be the scoring system for the regular game next season ?..I really can't see why the game developers would run, or want to run, two different systems..any thoughts ?

Open ControlsI'm concerned Wakey, even though I'm playing UFPL I don't bother with the scoring system as much as I do with FPL. I haven't checked in depth or owt but apparently it favours holding mids like Huddlestone, a dilemma for many years in FPL. Has anyone got any more insight?
