We delve into the data once again this evening and assess some of the standout statistics over the weekend gone by. Arsenal’s fit-again midfielder, Chelsea’s Brazilian schemer, Sunderland, Swansea and West Ham’s frontmen, Palace’s defence and Everton’s raiding right-back are amongst our main topics this time around:
-
Hi guys is this decent for the DGW or should i take a hit?
Mannone
Baines Coleman Zabaleta
Mata Ramsey Januzaj Amalfitano
Suarez Aguero Rooney
Subs: Marshall, Sterling Ollson Ward
Thanks in advance.Open Controls-
all good chief

Sterling over Januzaj.

As a Moyes sympathiser, I like to hope this is true. I prefer to think of him as angry and fired up rather than humiliated and crushed.Open Controls-
I'll second that ! read the article earlier, I hope he comes back to the Prem bigger and better.
Open Controls -
much of the blame should be put on ed woodward, he is such a bad and lousy executive compared to david gill
Open Controls -
I have no sympathy. The odds may have been against him but his actions in the transfer window along with his chopping and changing team selections doomed him.
Open Controls

Got Silva and Mirallas cluttering the place up....Ramsey is a shoe in but who else?...Nasri is tempting for the DGW but having Suarez/ Sterling double up for the showdown wouldn't half make an exciting Sunday afternoon..decisions, decisions.
Open Controls-
-
Already got Mata and Eriksen...I really fancy that double up with a couple of Lagers. It is on SKY I presume...isn't it?
Open Controls
-
-
Cazorla?
Open Controls -
Silva to Yaya
He should be fit for the weekend and seems essential for DGWOpen Controls -
I think nasri
Open Controls -
The two above are reasonable shouts, along with your choice of Nasri, or Yaya. There isn't really a stand-out option.
Open Controls -
My current mids : fwiw
Ramsey / Erik / mata / Lala
So next week it's LAla out I'm not gone on Nasri tbh ,
I have the cash for Yaya but I'm pondering Fernandinho also.Open Controls-
Fernandinho didn't deliver the other night but he played really high up at times. Looked good, but will he be pegged back again with Yaya on the pitch?
Open Controls-
No doubt it's Yaya over Fer every time , if a guy was strapped for cash I'd consider him over Nasri - a Guy may get lucky !
Open Controls

Yaya/Nasri

Anyone actually doing Lallana (EVE) to Mata (NOR) for -4 this week? The only thing thats holding me back is that my ML rival has Lallana and hes a good blocker with that fixture.
Open Controls-
I can't see Saints doing much for rest of season but then again you don't know were Mata will be deployed under the new 'regime' I'd stick for now.
Open Controls -
Wouldn't do it for a hit. Lala is due to do something
Open Controls -
already done lallana -> ramsey for free
Open Controls
-
-
Do we expect Chelsea to lineup against Che: ?
Ivan Cahill Luiz AzpilOpen Controls-
If I was Jose id shift Ivan to CB and play Luiz in front of the back 4 -
Azpil Ivan Cahill Cole
LuizOpen Controls-
you think Cole is fit enough? not played many games but unsure if he has been running out for reserves.
Open Controls-
He played well last night but not sure if he's able to do 3 games in such a short period of time. If all if thats the way id do it.
Open Controls
-
-
Not sure Luiz will play in midfield now with Terry out. They have Matic who is nailed, and then both Lampard and Mikel who aren't available in the 2nd leg.
Open Controls-
Fair point on availability. Against Suarez and Sterling id rather Ivan at CB than Luiz.
Open Controls

I think I know what you mean. So the answer is yes.
Open Controls -
Unfortunately i have to deploy Azpil against Liverpool #parkthebus

Hi everyone !
RMT for this week :
-------------------------- Mannone (CAR)---------------------------
Demel (wba)---------- Koscienly (NEW----------------Evans(NOR)
Ramsey (NOR)----Nasri (cpl)----Mata (NOR)----Erisken (sto)
Suarez (CHE)--------- Rooney (NOR) (C) ------------ Aguero (cpl)
Bench : Marshall - Punch - Vlaar - Ward

Template front 7 with good def/gk on nice fixtures, no need RMT?
Slight concern about Evans, no idea who'll play.
All the best for your gw!Open Controls

Been visiting this site daily since this season's fpl started. What will we have here when the season ends, anything to quell the withdrawal symptoms?
Or just chill till about 2-3 weeks before the next season starts?
Been doing well so far in fpl, really enjoyed my time here and in fpl, thanks all!Open Controls-
Full steam ahead with fantasy world cup. Not for me though
Open Controls-
Fantasy world cup? Same developer as fpl or whole new game? Messy with knockout etc I guess, fun?
Open Controls-
Completely unrelated - McDonalds were responsible last time I think. It's more like the UCL game if you've played that at all? It's ok, certainly a worthwhile time filler.
Open Controls-
Didn't play ucl, might consider fantasy world cup, but not really familiar with the players.
Thanks for your replies!Open Controls

Fantasy World Cup will occupy a bit of the time, then there's a few weeks watching Daniel grow steadily more insane waiting for FPL to open up again, that's always fun, the rest of the time is filled with unnecessary stats and planning that get thrown out of the window as soon as the season starts 🙂
Open Controls-
Daniel?
Lost count of how many times I changed my lineups on fpl, local fpl, and espn fpl ;p. Think I'll leave it till the last 2-3 weeks next time round.
Fantasy World Cup nowhere as fun as fpl?Open Controls-
This chap - mad as a box of frogs but much loved in his own way: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/profiles/daniel-mf/ Has a reputation for getting a bit worked up about when the game will reopen 😉

Random Q - Is St Georges day a public hol in England?
Open Controls -
should I:
a) play salah
b) play sterling (-4)Open Controls-
Liverpool defend worse than Chelsea..
Salah could be a good punt. I'd expect it to be a low enough scoring game, so it depends on if Sterling will be used like he was vs City + Norwich.Open Controls -
sterling could be benched
Open Controls -
A
Open Controls -
It won't be low scoring it will be about 4-2 to 'Pool if Mourinho gets his wish
Salah will play thoughOpen Controls

So am I currently good to go this week?

Looks good ( ballsy on Suarez ) ,
Azpi over Wardinho ?Open Controls-
I can't see Chelsea keeping a CS at Anfield, only playing Cahill for his potential attacking returns.
Palace are a bit of a Wildcard and I've been burnt by benching Ward before.
It was a tough decision though!Open Controls-
Tbh I see both (pool / CP) conceding no doubt ,
I suppose you've a point in spreading the risk - good thinking ,
I'm still pondering my arsenal / Utd def connondrum this week -8 , I'll see what Giggs has to say for himself later in week.Open Controls-
Sounds like a plan HVT!

Interesting captain options this week. Last roll of the dice for some maybe. Who are you opting for?
Aguero or Ramsey myself. If i had Rooney it would be him.Open Controls-
Rambo over Rooney for me
Open Controls -
I have all 3 and I'm going Rambo.
Open Controls -
Rooney probably. But I concede that I bought him more out of fear than hope.
Open Controls-
Once you bring them in, that "fear" becomes hope 😉
Open Controls-
Very true.
Open Controls -
but now he has to fear not having Podolski 😀 !
Open Controls-
I don't think I'd go that far. The fear with Rooney is that his ownership is so high that not bringing him in could lead to a huge drop in rankings. That's not really the case with Pod - you'd definitely bring him in out of hope.

Fantasy genius.
The targets that actually could have been the difference in the league aren't available. Throwing millions away to add a bit of depth would not have got you any closer to the title.
He couldn't get his targets so he looked to free loans and the youth squad to cover the injuries. Didn't cost a cent and start of next season they can go back to adding the one or two players they need. Perfect management IMOOpen Controls-
agreed...the time to buy was in the summer, not January
i hope hell spend big this window without thinking it was only because of injuriesOpen Controls -
not 100% sure of PERFECT management, the competition this season wasnt really much and we definitely could have had a real crack even if we did pay a bit over for class. if we hadn't come this far in the FA cup a lot of people think he could be without a job (though unlikely imo, the board loves him as he doesnt waste money) fans are just getting impatient now though which im sure you understand 😉
Open Controls-
got very unlucky with key injuries. No team will win the league without their best players. Throwing money away in Jan. Wouldn't have changed that. The fans should be careful though. They're in a tricky spot in that a successful period ended but chaos hasn't been allowed to ensue. You have one of the wisest mangers in football and your club is in top shape. They need to be patient and humble because if Wenger were sacked and the club stated looking for short cuts to the top it can get a lot worse. Just look at Liverpool. Those yanks very nearly destroyed the club and it was our feeling of entitlement that led us down that path
Open Controls

I agree that it seems like good options weren't really there so it was better to just get players on loan. Maybe they could have loaned another player too? What I found a bit dim is that they ended up getting Källström on loan while knowing he was injured when they really needed a player at that very moment. They were in middle of a big time injury crisis and going to a very difficult period of fixtures and needed some numbers immediately. So, not getting any players who could have played immediately may have well cost them that title challenge. And in that sense it is not at all perfect management. Even wasting a little bit unnecessarily much money at that point could have been wise as they had a very good shout for the title back then.
Open Controls-
IOptions are very limited when your looking to plug gaps though. I'm sure they were trying hard to get someone on loan that's actually good enough and fit. The fact they took kallstrom injured shows how hard it is. I remember the conveyer belt of sub standard cheap mercenaries and loanees at Liverpool as Rafa tried to plug gaps in the squad with little or no money. It's not easy. I think Wenger was right to believe in his squad. He's got the quality and the depth to challenge. Just got unlucky this time. Only thing I don't understand is why he didn't buy a striker to give giroud some competition.

Does he not know I have money on City to win the league? 😉Open Controls-
its a classic mourinho wind up
he said hed play the youth team v us in the carling cup...didn't exactly turn out that way did it?Open Controls -
Well he's forced to be without Cech and Terry. Lampard and Mikel will probably play as they have no 2nd leg. So that's already 4 changes.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Stones
Open Controls-
Don't you think Distin absense will hurt the defending quality?
Open Controls-
Well that could easily happen, but Soton have nothing to play for and have looked dull recently. 1-4 against City @ Etihad, 0-1 against Cardiff @ home and 0-0 away @ Villa Park, not exactly in their greatest form. Fulham are fighting for relegation so I'm guessing they'll score at least one against Hull
Open Controls

So maybe no Distin this week along with a rusty Jagielka and Stones. Shouldn't have sold Lallana ðŸ™

7.2 to spend on a midfielder.
Options i think are eriksen, johnson, sterling.
Who would you get? Any better options?Open Controls-
eriksen!

what is rest of your mid and fwards like
sterling out of those options, but would be tempted to find a hidden gem amongst the dog fightersOpen Controls-

Anyone else finding Playon really easy to win money on?
Open Controls -
Silva > Nasri OR Silva > Ramsey? Dgwk coming up. Really can't decide. Don't want to watch Arsenal take apart Newcastle without Ramsey in my team...
Open Controls -
How does this look for a 4 point hit next week?
Baines & Snodgrass -> Smalling & YayaOpen Controls -
who to get?
a) bony
b) podolski
c) giroudOpen Controls-
Swans player no option for me, and I think Giroud cannot play at his best anymore this season. He was overplayed earlier on. So Pod for me. He is fresh and scoring.
Open Controls-
yeah good reasoning mate

You know who I think 😉
Open Controls-

Open Controls

B out of those options

finally a unanimous answer...cheers!
Open Controls

Anyone think Lallana is just terrified of getting injured and missing the WC like JRod?
Open Controls -
By the time the DGW hits us, I'll have 3 city players already, would it be stupid to upgrade Nasri to Yaya (if fit) or would the transfer be better used elsewhere (have 3 utd too)?
Open Controls-
Not stupid, but risky.
Nasri could score at any time and Yaya might not be as effective with Kun on the pitch.Open Controls-
What is your plan for DGW. How many City & United players you have in mind?
Open Controls -
Yeah, I feel that too. Just that my rival who is in sight will definitely get him back in, I suppose I should stick with the differential.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Mirallas to YaYa, Nasri or Mata?
Why?Open Controls-
Only the 1st one because Mirallas is injured.
