Thirty-one points back on my co-host Granville, alas he still seems out of range as my comeback bid seems too little, too late. It might be a similar story for this week’s guest, as Luke Williams, aka d1salbe, remains just over thirty points shy of top spot in the Sky Sports game, with a glittering prize of £30k within tantalising reach.

Jonty joins us to put Luke through his paces with community questions, after Granville and I tackle the ScoutCast regulars, talk over the Moyes ejection, next season’s targets and absent feline friends.

As before, you can view the full cast via the YouTube movie linked below, or stick with the traditional podcast audio and treat your ears to the edited “Director’s Cut” via this link or the handy player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Current team:

    Harper (K Davis)

    Baines - Azpi - Demichelis - Flannagan - Stones

    Yaya - Eriksen - mata - Puncheon - S Davis

    Lukaku - Suarez - Roonpig

A little heavy in defence - what about Baines and Lukaku > Aguero and 4.3?

      Alonso is nailed.

Preferred back 4 WAS Bards/JOS/Brown/Alonso, however the two amazing results we just got coincided with Bardsley's suspension and two solid performances from Vergini at RB. Therefore consensus among our fans at the moment is that it would be madness to change a winning team.

don't understand people wanting to take hits to bring in Chester - even with DGW, there's no clean sheets in sight for Hull. Sunderland defenders Bardsley/Brown - maybe.

All of this captaincy debate , no one seems to be going for Aguero

Palace, although they are not shipping goals , they have conceeded one of the highest number of shots in the area the last few weeks

Kun fit , well , on all the normal set prices and going for the title

Between Rooney & him for me

    Hey guys,

I did rush the Lukaku>Rooney move as I had exactly the money to do so yesterday. Now I'm stuck with only a few differentials for the upcoming gameweeks and I'm trailing by 60p. I'm regretting not going for Podolski a little bit now. Do you see any move worth a hit?

    Morning fellers 🙂

This has been one of the most contested captaincy debates in weeks, a wide variety of choices (and that's not even including those going for punts and differential captains!)

That makes it even more important to pick the right one..

Is anyone captaining anyone OTHER than Rooney, Ramsey, Aguero, Suarez and Podolski?
    _______________________________________________

-I'm not convinced by Suarez this week. At all. Chelsea will be defensively solid.

-Aguero depends on how much of a fight Palace put up defensively.

-Ramsey is in form but plays the deepest out of all of the players.

-Podolski has a massive upside but its Podolski, hardly the most reliable player in the world.

-Rooney, anything could happen at Old Trafford this week.

Yeah, ran him and Pod through the comparison tool in the members area and there's no comparison, Ramsey is so much more involved and just seems to be everywhere.

            Definitely Ramsey (C) Rooney (VC).

Lukaku in would be ballsey but Lukaku might fail to deliver massively, he's not in great form..

I think José Mourinho is the one reason nobody should captain Suarez, but then again if Mourinho actually goes and plays a complete sub standard side, Suarez will have a field day..

....Ramsey's better than both of those options and you know it 😉

I personally prefer the -8 move.. Think Ramsey could make that up by himself. I'm not a massive Puncheon believer though..

Rooney has a bigger upside than Lukaku.

Lukaku might score twice, don't see him getting a hattrick.
Rooney might score 3 and get 2 assists in a 6-0 drubbing if spirits are very high..

Giggsy's presser is this morning right?

you're right, and then Rooney is a better option for the run-in as well. It's betwee nRoo and pod. I'll wait till the pressers are over in case of injuires

The beauty of ditching Suarez, able to get both Roo and Pod 😀

I actually like the idea of holding onto Lukaku this week. Saints have nothing to play for and have been playing as if they're on holiday lately. For Everton its a must win game if they have any chance of making the top 4. Hadn't considered the idea of captaining him till now though, not the worst punt.

Yeah he's a solid pick this week with Southampton slowly turning into another Newcastle, the only thing is that there's a wealth of options out there this week.

I'd prefer Rooney, Aguero and Podolski all over Lukaku this week, simply because there's slightly more of a chance of the Belgian doing absolutely nothing.

On the other hand, he might score loads if Southampton are really disinterested.
Not sure if I'd (C) him though..

If he exploded you'd rise right up the rankings and he'll be motivated against an unmotivated team, so I see where Ryan is coming from, but I wouldn't (C).

It will be the classic captain unsensible. There is some merit to the idea though I think. I agree with Irish Madridsta though, there are probably better options this week.

not so sure about how defensively solid Chelsea will be this week, after Mourinho's statements yesterday. If they use a couple of fringe players it may all break down, since good defence is much about gelling a back four.

I highly doubt Mourinho will play as weak a side as everyone thinks.

If he does, he's a fool, they're not going to win the CL anyway and if they beat Liverpool it puts all the pressure on Pool to beat Palace away which is tough to do.

Agreed, I probably shouldn't write him off, but I took a risk this week in shipping him for Podolski as Pod has 2 beautiful fixtures and I'd wager that Suarez won't do that well over the next two games (by his standards)

Sure we'll see how it goes 😀 the complete opposite of everything I'm expecting to happen, might just happen 😛

It was between Pod and Ramsey for me this week..

Pod has a bigger upside, could definitely get a hattrick, but Ramsey is so much more guaranteed some points as he's SO much more involved..

Ramsey is the heart and engine of that team, Podolski is a forward who stays out on the wings and shoots when the ball comes to him.. Tough to call.

Pod only has like 2% ownership though and Ramsey will have about 30% so Pod has a MUCH bigger upside..

How many in top 10K with Ramsey though?

Should still be a differential if much of that 30% are dead teams.

300,000 I think have gotten him in this week and he's top of the captain's poll on this site, Pod would be a much better differential if he outscored Ramsey..

Think I'm going to go with Ramsey though, I just have a feeling this is going to be one of his biggest hauls of the season.

Yeah, quite possibly. Balanced to that is Liverpool on fire and capable of scoring against anyone, plus the title chase, plus its at home.

        Big big decision this week.

Liverpool are on fire and WILL score.. but I don't think Suarez will be the main protagonist. If he is, I don't see Liverpool scoring more than twice.

Unless Mou actually does play Ake/Kalas/etc... But he'd be a fool to do that when they're only 5 points behind.

Scares me captaining Rooney as United utter tripe this season.

Not too sure captaining Ramsey either.

Put another way, if you are well ahead in ML and high up the OR do you risk Ramsey or Rooney?

Ramsey is a safer bet of some points, you won't end up with 2 points with Ramsey vs Newcastle, he'll probably get a goal or two and an assist or two, but at the very least he'll be involved in one of the goals, he's so integral to Arsenal he's bound to be.

Rooney might completely blank, but I'd expect him to want to play well and prove he's worth it to everyone in the post-Moyes era.

Pretty sure the weak side is just Mou's mind games. That said, Chelsea is weakened no matter what he does.

Luckily my choice is easy. I'm like 5 points behind the leader of my minileague and he has drunkenly told me he will captain Suarez for the rest of the season. Not willing to take the chance and give him the captaincy points if Suarez goes wild.

If anything that's the perfect reason to pick someone other than suarez, if you pick Ramsey and he gets 16 points again, and Suarez gets 5 or something from a goal, you'll have nearly won your league.

    Mannone
    Chester - Coleman - Bardsley
    AJ - Eriksen - Ramsey - Gerrard
    Sturridge - Aguero - Suarez

    Bench: Marshall Ward Azpi Noone

Good enough for this week or something worth taking a hit? I am aware that playing Sturridge is risky.
