As always on Friday lunchtime, we turn our attentions to PlayON, the weekly Fantasy Football game. Scouring the PlayON Price List for potential bargains, we back Arsenal and Man United to deliver the Fantasy returns ahead of some very favourable home games against out-of-sorts Newcastle and Norwich respectively:

This week PlayON have a £1,000 GUARANTEED game on offer – you can enter the game on the multiplayer page here.

PlayON are also giving FREE ENTRY into the £1,000 GUARANTEED game for all new sign-ups between now and 10.45 on Sat morning – no deposit needed. So if you know anyone who would like to try the PlayON game, why not let them know by sharing this article with them on Facebook or Twitter below.

If you’re new to PlayON, it is weekly Fantasy Football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built, you can compete for cash. You can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 51% win rate up to this point. You can also create an open challenge against anyone else on the site – just click the amount you want to play for and the number of slots (number of people who can accept your challenge) on the one-on-one page .

For a more in-depth introduction to PlayON, take a look at this season’s introduction article.

Goalkeeper – David De Gea
Priced at just 6.6m in this week’s PlayON Player Price List, the United number one looks a real value option between the posts ahead of a home encounter with struggling Norwich. Bearing in mind the Canaries have failed to score in three of their last four, the Red Devils could barely ask for a kinder first match in the post-David Moyes era, with Ryan Giggs’ side determined to turn on the style tomorrow evening after a series of uninspiring recent showings. City’s Joe Hart sets you back a mere 7.2m for a trip to Palace as Manuel Pellegrini’s side look for a vital win to keep their title aspirations on track, whilst Wojciech Szczesny is priced at just 8.9m for Arsenal’s home encounter with Newcastle.

Defender –Laurent Koscielny
Back in the starting line-up after recovering from a recent calf complaint, the Frenchman helped steer the Gunners to their fourteenth shut-out of the season last weekend. Available for 9.4m, Koscielny plays host to a Newcastle side that has scored just two goals in their last seven league fixtures on Monday evening. If you fancy a double-up option for United, outgoing skipper Nemanja Vidic will take up just 8.3m of your budget – the Serbian missed out with a headache last weekend but looks set to be re-installed to the starting line-up in one of his final few matches before leaving to join Inter. West Brom’s Billy Jones returned to the XI last time around, and priced at a mere 6.9m, hosts a West Ham side with just two goals to their name in the last three matches.

Midfielder – Mesut Ozil
Arsenal are overwhelming favourites for Monday’s home match and the German’s return hands us an intriguing budget option. Whilst Aaron Ramsey will no doubt receive plenty of interest, Ozil comes in at just 7.3m, and having returned from injury in last week’s win over Hull, could be instrumental as Arsene Wenger’s side look for the win that will keep their bid for a fourth-place finish firmly on track. Swansea’s Pablo Hernandez is priced at 7.9m for a vital home game against Aston Villa. With Michu ruled out through injury once again, his compatriot looks poised to be handed the role in “the hole” as Garry Monk’s side go in search of the win that may well clinch their top-flight survival. Sunderland’s Adam Johnson is a little more expensive at 9.8m. The Black Cats wide man welcomes Cardiff to the Stadium of Light, and if Gus Poyet’s side are to avoid the drop, a home win against the Bluebirds looks vital, with Johnson’s trickery from the flank pivotal to their prospects.

Forwards – Wayne Rooney
United may have toiled in recent weeks but their frontman has continued to deliver the Fantasy returns. Rooney has netted six times in his last seven appearances and, priced at 11.4m, is set to be unleashed against a Norwich defence that has shipped 12 goals in their last four road trips. Sergio Aguero remains relatively budget friendly at 11.1m. The Manchester City forward was amongst the goals in Monday’s win over West Brom, and if his side are to prevail at in-form Crystal Palace, Aguero’s predatory instincts in and around the box will surely play a major part. Daniel Sturridge looks set to recover from a hamstring problem in time for Liverpool’s crunch encounter with Chelsea. Available for 10.3m, Sturridge will be hoping to fire the goals that will take Liverpool one step closer to winning the league and send his former club tumbling out of the title race.

    Afternoon.
Keen to get Ramsey in but tricky with Mata, Eriksen, Gerrard & Nasri. Thinking of Nasri>Ramsey for a -4, then bringing in Yaya for Gerrard next week. Any thoughts?

i think you should wait for a week before buying a utd defender. never know what a new manager might have in store. not worth the risk imo considering that you're taking a hit.

Interesting fact is that he did not actually refuse taking trial. He was eager to do it. It was the manager of his then club or chairman of the club or someone like that who told Wenger that they either want the kid or don't want him, no trials.

    Missed the new article....

Based on my question about taking hits, I think part of my problem is I pick players for the next 3 weeks. So my GW1 team the last two years has been skewed by the DGW, then I need to transfer out players.
Seeing that people have gone half or a whole season with no hits, do you set your GW1 team up with the whole season in mind? Or aim for explosiveness and take advantage of fixtures short term?
Is that just a different way of asking form v fixtures?

I definitely do the latter, and until this year have done pretty well, but think next year I may set my team up for the long term from the start. I enjoy the odd hit, and actually a -16 helped turn my season around, but perhaps a re-think is in order.

    Thoughts?

    TFF'S Quiz

    6/7

    Score: LightKnight 1 Bubz 1 Nate 1 Chucky 2

Which current premier league footballer am I talking about?

    Source:The Mirror
    (An interview in 2011)

'-Born on Valentine's Day 1992, he hails from the unfortunately-named city of Middelfart.

-Having February 14 as a birthday hasn't done much for the lad's romantic tendencies, however. Last year, the Ajax prospect admitted to not having a girlfriend as, "I'm not into the Dutch girls. I do not think the standard is good, because there are too many ugly ones."

-His stunning performance against England won't have come as a surprise to Premier League clubs. Dennis Bergkamp tipped Arsenal off to the attacking midfielder a year ago, and Liverpool's director of football strategy Damien Commoli is another long-term fan.

-He echoed those worries about the physical demands of English football when he said after facing the Three Lions: "It's a tough league. I could see from tonight that if you go past them, they want to split you in two."

-He got his full Ajax debut, wearing the famous No. 51 shirt, under Martin Jol early last year and was quickly compared to former Ajax academy products Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart by the burly Fungus The Bogeyman lookalike.

-Back home however, he's usually likened to another star, having been christened 'The New Michael Laudrup' by football magazine Tipsbladet last year. '

A hit for a defender is usually a big no no but....

Going from Ivan/Cahill to Vidic this week, could that not work?

Vidic then gets another game to pay for the hit and he would probably have a better chance to get a cleanie this week then a Chelsea defender, Right?
