Sergio Aguero is back in City’s squad for Sunday’s home game with West Ham. Wayne Rooney is almost certain to miss out for United again, with Phil Jones sidelined due to a shoulder complaint. John Terry, Frank Lampard and Samuel Eto’o seem set to skip Chelsea’s trip to Cardiff, Gus Poyet hints at making changes for Sunderland’s home clash with Swansea, Allan McGregor and Paul McShane could return for Hull, whilst Tim Sherwood has a number of injuries to contend with for Tottenham’s game against Villa:

Sergio Aguero is back in the City squad for Sunday’s home game against West Ham. Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed he has a fully-fit squad for the Etihad clash as he looks for the win which would secure the title.

Roberto Martinez is optimistic that both Steven Pienaar and on-loan forward Lacina Traore will be back in the Everton squad for Sunday’s trip to Hull after the duo returned to first-team training earlier this week. Darron Gibson is also in training for the Toffees but Martinez reckons the midfielder is unlikely to make it.

Gus Poyet has admitted he will make some alterations to the Sunderland XI for the weekend home clash against Swansea. The Black Cats boss reckons “maybe two, three or four” players deserve a start after failing to feature in recent matches. Reports in the local press suggest Lee Cattermole and Seb Larsson have both struggled with knocks in recent matches and could be amongst those rested.

Ryan Giggs has conceded Sunday’s trip to St Mary’s is “probably a little bit too quick” for Wayne Rooney to return for United. Phil Jones is definitely out, though, after being forced off with a shoulder problem in midweek.

Stoke’s on-loan winger Oussama Assaidi is unlikely to make Sunday’s derby trip to the Hawthorns after suffering a setback in training, according to Mark Hughes. Potters skipper Ryan Shawcross returns after serving a one-match suspension.

Frank Lampard (illness), Samuel Eto’o and John Terry are all major doubts for Chelsea’s trip to Cardiff – assessing the trio’s chances of featuring, Jose Mourinho admitted “normally all of them are out” in his lunchtime press conference.

Etienne Capoue is back in contention for Tottenham’s home game with Villa, though Tim Sherwood must make do without the services of Moussa Dembele, Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela, Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, Andros Townsend and the suspended Younes Kaboul as he looks to clinch Europa League qualification.

Steve Bruce is optimistic that Allan McGregor and Paul McShane could be back for Hull’s home game against Everton, while Sone Aluko is also closing in on return from a hamstring issue.

Gabby Agbonlahor is back in contention for Villa’s trip to Spurs after missing out against City in midweek. Marc Albrighton remains “touch and go” with a groin injury, Paul Lambert has revealed.

Liam Ridgewell is back in full training and could return for West Brom against Stoke, whilst the club’s official website has confirmed Morgan Amalfitano was rested in midweek and is expected to return. Right-back pair Billy Jones and Steven Reid are out, whilst Jonas Olsson has fully recovered from the knock that forced him out of the starting XI against the Black Cats.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of Sunday’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Is it worth swapping for Dzeko and Sturridge for a hit?

Giggs have done wild rotations. Last game he was not involved at all, Vidic and Giggs was always coming on to say farewell to OT. Kagawa started last game and did nothing, before that Nani and Young was awful. If he got any brain at all he will start Mata in this final game.

Er, didn't he just say that they're finishing second to the team with the highest wage budget in football? That's not blaming money, it's him saying Liverpool have done well in light of the circumstances. For those with Ramsey / Mata / cheap 5th mid and the bare 3 def at the back , it may be worth your while if you have cash and bring in Baines / Coleman / Skirtel / Flan ( even for a hit ) and play that def as your 3rd defender , you will at least have a def (say Dann/ward/etc) as a sub if Ramsey / Mata fail to play.

I'm nearly sold in my case - Baines as I don't really class him as a def ,
Can you afford Skrtel (6.0) ? Will Kos play ?
Burner is a 1 pointer if your lucky , if you could pick a def with a guaranteed cs it could be worth it , they seem to score between 6-9 pts these days post team mj

Is it worth doing Jones -> someone for a hit (up to 5.9) or just play Burner (CHE)?

It may be I'm considering it but in my case it would leave me :
      Manny
      Cahill/ Demi / Baines
      Yaya / Erik / Mata / Rambo
      S-A-S
      -4 , Dann only sub.

Worth a -4 to cover the possibility of Ramsey/Mata not playing? Bench is poor otherwise

Mata > Gerrard the smart move? Full up on City (Aguero/Yaya/Zaba) but have Suarez/Sterling for Pool. Rest of front 8 is Ramsey/Eriksen/Podolski.

Man, I was on the brink of going the other way. I'm nervous about leaving Toure off.
