Following last week’s launch of the FFS World Cup 2014, we opened the game for captain applications. We would like to thank all the 48 applicants, who took the bold leap of faith towards captaincy. For those of you who applied to be captains but were not chosen, you can still participate in the game. If you were wanting more of a leadership role, feel free to talk to a captain and see if they could have you as a vice-captain.

Starting immediately, the captains are allowed to begin recruiting for their 5 team members, including the captain. Each team captain decides who we wants in his team from now until the 11th of Jun. So those interested in joining a team, please approach the respective captain.

You can always refer to the Cup Spreadsheet for more details and to keep up to date with the recruiting.

Team Portudogal have announced their squad fro WC game.

player 1- BarKING (charles) NIL MISS- the Boneldo of the team, we are honoured to have the top dog of world football in our team. Blessed with natural skills, his famous four paws step over will fool all defenders.
Being the only member who actually speaks portuguese he is also in charge of setting up some local lady dogs.
player 2- KONIG LUTHER- a naturalized K9, defected (or maybe deficated) from team cameroon to become part of the pack. Showed his commitment by swimming doggy paddle from africa to portugal. He is beleived to be a cousin of King Nil Miss, so we will be only team to have relatives playing in same team (if you don't count Nate and thefantasyfreak as same person).
player 3- STEVE- so good he is know by one name. A hard tackling boxer, believed to be named after steve bruce due to his resemblance, this dog takes no prisoners. Once he gets his teeth round the ball he won't let go, until the football comes near that is.
player 4- A PUGS LIFE- or Helder Pugstino, a nippy attacking midfielder renowned for biting ankles. The crowds will love his dribbling skills, it will look like the ball is moving on its own, mainly due to it being bigger than him.

As long as there aren't any trees or bushes within site of the pitch we will romp to victory in this tourney.

While the recruitment process of Honduras is going reasonably well, we are still in need of a vice captain. This is the opportunity to lead the ultimate underdog team to the World Cup. We are aiming to win the tournament and also have good banter and craic on here while doing it. "Having secured the services of FFS veteran and all round diamond Demi yesterday #TeamEngland are please to announce the latest member, snoop_1987." (He's a long term lurker and sporadic poster... but he beat me in our work ML this season after 2 seasons of ridicule (lol) so he has a bit of pedigree!)

"He will join the aforementioned Demi and the proven management duo of TommyTours and SuperDunny out in their Miami training camp this evening."

So.... we only have one spot remaining! I would suggest an X Factor type audition process or perhaps a #TeamEngland's Got Talent but unfortunately i am away for a week.
