With just over a week until the Brazil Word Cup gets underway, Paddy Power are rolling out yet another tempting offer for those yet to register an account. For a limited time only, our bookmaker mates are offering enhanced odds on the four favourites to win the 2014 World Cup:

New customers can get 8/1 on hosts Brazil to win the tournament – when you consider the normal odds on Big Phil Scolari’s side are 3/1, it could well be worth a flutter.

Alternatively, new customers can get 12/1 on Argentina to triumph (from 9/2), or 14/1 on Germany to win (from 11/2) or 16/1 on defending champions Spain (from 13/2) to emerge triumphant once again.

To clarify, the Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified. New customers can only opt for one of the two offers.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

      Pjanic obviously key to any success they may have. Good attack but poor defence (-Begovic). Reckon they'll scrap 2nd in Group D just ahead of Nigeria.

        Misimovic is in the hole, but his age is likely to mean he'll get less minutes.
        Pjanic is on the wing but it likely to play more.

            There is a big big difference between being racist and posting words or images that can cause offensive on racial grounds.

            Sometimes things are posted and can cause offence even if that is not the intention. We have to be sensitive to these issues and that's why that was deleted but at the same time it would be wrong to bandy words such as racist around.

              Hey is anyone familiar with the auction rules in the Fantasy League game?

              I’m running an online auction with about 12 people and we’ve been assigned ‘tie order’ numbers. Does this mean that the lowest (or highest?) preference number always wins every tie in that round? That doesn’t seem fair surely… I was hoping every tie would be decided randomly.

                Hi there, not necessarily if you go 1-12 in order first round, then go backwards. Meaning that the person in 12th will have back to back picks.

                  So if the person with Tie Order 1 wins a tie in the first round, will they win more ties in the same round or would the next tie go to somebody with Tie Order 2+?

                  Are you saying in the second round the numbers are reversed from 12-1? What about the third round?

                    Exactly as you said for the latter query. 3rd round would be 1-12 again I think. I'm not sure what you mean by 'winning' a tie though. In the draft that I usually have with my friends, it's that particular players preference who they pick.

                      Yep it's a secret auction through their online bid engine. I'm basically trying to figure out if somebody who has Tie Order 1 in the first round is able to completely clean up with several bids of £0. For example would they beat the guy with Tie Order 2 every time in that round if they were tied several times?

                          I'm not sure we are talking about the same game. All the bids are made at the same time and evaluated instantly at the deadline. We don't take it in turns to pick players.

                            How many bids can you make?
                            All depends on the game.
                            If you are #1 then in Rd 2, the fair tie order should be 12th.
                            Could easily be 1st for all the rounds too.
                            Chances of lots of ties are slim.

                  Bertrand could come good, he was on the fringes of the Chelsea side a couple of seasons ago now, 5M doesn't seem a lot given that. Would suit Bruce's 532 as well.

                      They'll probably play exactly the same position on the opposite flanks most of the time, but Bertrand will be an FPL defender. If he's 4.5 I'll be interested.

                      Very impressed with the side Bruce is building there on a budget, buying the two strikers in January and then these 2 now, if they can add a similar level CB and get Livermore again, they'll be a tough team next season.
