We roll out our second player picks article for PlayON’s World Cup Game this lunchtime. With Brazil’s clash against Mexico getting Round 2 underway later this evening, we scour the Player Price List for bargains once again:

PlayON is running a number of different Gameweeks for each round of the World Cup. Each Gameweek is where you pick your teams and enter one-on-one and multiplayer games for the relevant matches. PlayON is running a separate Gameweek for each individual group each round, as well as a Gameweek for all groups each round, so you can pick teams just from players in the four teams in a particular group, or from all 32 teams – the choice is yours. The different Gameweeks are located in the dropdown menu in the top left . Fantasy managers must save their teams of XI two hours prior to the start of each Gameweek, with the deadline for the “Round 2 All Groups” and “Round 2 Group A” Gameweeks at 19.00 this evening. A new addition to PlayON for the World Cup is being able to pick multiple teams, so you can pick up to three different teams in each gameweek, thus increasing your chances of success.

New cash games for the World Cup are multiplier games, where you can double or treble your money, as well as limit entry games so rather than playing against hundreds of people, you can enter games with a maximum of five, 10 or 20 entrants. In-play games are also due to be released over the coming days, as well as the return of limitless entry games.

Goalkeeper – Asmir Begovic
The Bosnia and Herzegovina stopper comes in at a mere £7.4m for a key encounter with Nigeria. Safet Susic’s side limited Argentina to just two shots on target in an unfortunate defeat on Sunday night and if they replicate that resilience against the Africans, a clean sheet for Begovic could well be on the cards. Ecuador’s Alexander Dominguez is a budget-friendly £7.2m in the PlayON Round 2 Price List. After losing to Switzerland in the group opener, they desperately need a win against a Honduras side that mustered just one effort on target in last week’s loss to France. Italy’s clash with Costa Rica is also worth monitoring. With Gianluigi Buffon struggling to recover from injury, Salvatore Sirigu is expected to get the nod again and costs just £8.3m – if the veteran stopper proves his fitness, though, he’s the best value at £7.7m.

Defender – Giorgio Chiellini
The versatile Juventus man is arguably the only guaranteed starter at the back for Cesar Prandelli’s side. Either in a 3-5-2 or last week’s 4-3-3 against England, Chiellini offers the Italians options for a Group D clash with Costa Rica that could, potentially, put his side into the knockout stages – he’s available for £8.7m ahead of this evening’s 19.00 deadline, although you’ll be able to pick him up in the Round 2 Group D gameweek for a few more days. Holland’s Daley Blind delivered a pair of assists in last week’s stunning win over Spain. Fielded as a left wing-back in a 5-3-2, the Ajax man sets you back £8.5m for a game against Australia, as Louis Van Gaal’s swashbuckling side look for another victory. If you’re shopping in the budget bracket, Sead Kolasinac is priced at just £7.3m for Bosnia’s above-mentioned clash with Nigeria.

Midfielder – Arjen Robben
Coming in at 9.5 in the PlayON Player Price List, the Dutchman is one of the most expensive midfielders around. Nonetheless, a change of position in last week’s devastating win over Spain boosted Robben’s potential – shifted up front alongside Robin Van Persie, he bagged a brace in a 5-1 rout of the defending champions. Up against group underdogs Australia tomorrow evening, he looks difficult to ignore in our starting XIs. Ivan Rakitic is a more budget-friendly option as Croatia look to bounce back from an opening day defeat against Brazil. Available for £8.4m, the new Barcelona signing notched 12 goals and 10 assists for Sevilla last season and looks essential to his side’s chances of bettering Cameroon this week. Antonio Candreva also sets you back £8.4m for Italy’s game against Costa Rica. Handed a role on the right of a front three against England, he provided an assist to continue the form that produced 12 goals and six assists for Lazio in 2013/14.

Forward – Mario Mandzukic
Suspended for Croatia’s opener with Brazil, the centre forward will return to the starting XI for a vital showdown with Cameroon. Both sides desperately need a win after losing their first group matches and Mandzukic – available for £9.6m – arrives in confident mood, having fired 18 league goals in 21 starts in the previous campaign. Edin Dzeko comes in at £9.4m for Bosnia’s crunch encounter with Nigeria. Having scored 10 times in qualifying, the big striker is clearly essential to his nation’s chances of picking up the points, with spot-kick duties enhancing his appeal. Ecuador’s Enner Valencia grabbed a goal in last week’s narrow loss against Switzerland and has now netted in five of his last six appearances for his country. Up next, the £9.7m-priced frontman squares up to a Honduras side that were comprehensively beaten by France in their Group E opener.

Pick your teams for the “Round 2 All Groups” and “Round 2 Group A” gameweeks by 19.00 this evening at www.playon.co

Yes that is one of the issues we are looking at. For now if you can log in through a computer - the site works best in the Google Chrome browser at present - we will get to all cross browser and cross device functionality issues sorted as soon as possible. Thanks

What happens if I enter a game with a £1.10 entry fee and £2.00 pot, but then I am the only person in the game and the second person doesn't enter or challenge me?

        Hi Dynamic,
If not one else enters the game before the team picking deadline (2 hours before first kick-off) passes, you will get your £1.10 entry fee automatically refunded to your account. The same goes for any other game entries to games that don't fill up, or if you create an Open Challenge and some of the slots aren't filled by the deadline.

      Hi Killian,

Very disapointed with the new website and the numerous teething problems that we had to find out ourselves. . There's been no communication from your side apart from yesterday when you posted this message, as to what has happened.

Issues i have faced: (i am using Mozilla Firefox and/or iphone)

(1)I'm having problems logging in whether using PC or Iphone (just crashes constantly).
(2)Cannot access live games, dont know what has happened to my teams from Round 1
      (3) No results anywhere
      (4) How do we contact YOU?? There's nothing on the website!!
      (5) Matchday live doesnt exist!!

Cmon mate this is the World Cup!!. I can understand having problems but this should have been sorted before the tournament started. The EPL website was great so i hope you understand the frustration this new site has caused.

A general email or message on your website letting us know what is going on would've appeased us fantasy tragics!! Just let us know what is going ON!!

      Frustrated PlayON Player!!

        Hi Arch,

I apologise for the issues you and the other members of the FFS community are having with PlayON at present. We are working around the clock to get the Live Matchday issues resolved and are hopeful that the Round 1 games and all the Live Matchday issues will be sorted in the next 24 hours, at which point you will be able to see how you got on in each of your games.

Your point about communication is absolutely valid - there is some development work involved in getting the chatbox live on the new site and it has been a call on my part to prioritise fixing the issues on the site ahead of getting the chat box in. In hindsight, this has been a mistake on my part as you and our other customers need clearer communication on what is going on and with these issues still unresolved, I understand that it is intensely frustrating for you and our other customers to not know what the situation is.

I can assure you that we are doing everything we can to get the issues resolved as soon as possible. Ever since we partnered with Fantasy Football Scout last year, I have been online for each article willing to answer people's questions and to listen to issues. I did this when the above article was posted yesterday while we are in the midst of these issues and will continue to do so, irrespective of whether the news is good or bad.

If you or anyone else has any questions or comments, please feel free to post them below or to email me directly at killian@playon.co.uk and I will address them all. I have also moved getting the chat box integrated onto the new site up the priority list so we can more easily communicate with you and you can more easily communicate with us.

Your patience while we get these issues resolved would be greatly appreciated - I am hopeful that once they are resolved you will see the new site as being a significant improvement on the old one.

        Thanks,
        Killian

wouldn't it be good if just like the above post.. we got something like the following

    Ronald here from McDonald's.

Firstly, my apologies for the current issues we are experiencing with the game - we are working hard on getting these resolved and they should be sorted sometme before the competition is finished

The round 2 tab is now live. The rest of the problems are being worked on but it is unlikely they will be fixed in time to make any difference on the results.

I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the game or why my arch enemy the Hamburglar is no longer in existence.

I am bringing in KDB and bentaleb, which one should I put on right of squad to allow me to bring in Russian defender later

Cavani (8pts) to Lukaku worth it? Have only 88pts with just KdB and Bentaleb still to play so why not have some fun, right?

Anyone want to confirm this statement for me.

In McDonalds game we should have our starting team organised from left to right in order of earliest to latest kickoff date/time. The theory being if you want to change formation you will lose a player who has not played yet and be able to sub him back on for a player who has?

    Correct?

      Seems like it.
Haven't tried to bring back a subbed-off player myself though..

As long as you have the very latest guy in the line-up on the right you'll be fine.

Could anyone more familiar with McD clarify that these formation changes/subs would be safe?

    Team:
    Mbolhi
    Evra (9), Rojo (7), Montazeri (9)
    Valbuena (6), Oscar (13), Di Maria (5), Cuadrado (14)
    Messi (11), Neymar (14), Heydari (4).

I have Alderweireld, KDB, Bentaleb, Kombarov, and Kokorin to sub in.

    - I change to 4-4-2 now, Heydari drops out, and I sub in Alderweireld, who becomes the rightmost defender.
    - I sub KDB in for Di Maria, Bentaleb in for Valbuena
    - After the Belgium game, if I switch back to 3-4-3, Alderweireld would automatically drop out, being the rightmost defender - correct?
    - Kokorin could then go in up front, possible Kombarov for Rojo.

Does that make sense? Appreciate anyone taking the time to read and reply!

Err, thinking about it Bentaleb (mid) or Medjani (def) to gather more points? Should be the defender, right?

KdB being on my right side, with Bentaleb being next to him should make switching the formation save, right? KdB gets kicked out but I can bring him in afterwards...

Did I say I hate that MD game?
