Fantasy managers have another three matches to look forward to this evening as we edge towards the halfway point of the group stages. First up on our agenda, Ivory Coast square up to Colombia as both sides look to build on the back of opening wins over Japan and Greece respectively – a victory tonight would take the winners within touching distance of the knockout stages:

Ivory Coast: Barry; Aurier, Zokora, Bamba, Boka; Tiote, Serey, Y Toure; Gervinho, Bony, Gradel

Colombia: Ospina; Zuniga Zapata, Yepes, Armero; Sanchez, Aguilar; Cuadrado, Rodriguez, Ibarbo; Gutierrez

Ivory Coast make just one alteration from the side that beat Japan in Matchday 1. Surprisingly, Didier Drogba remains on the bench in spite of his crucial cameo last time around, with Wilfried Bony once again leading the line as Salomon Kalou drops out for Max Gradel in the front three. Fantasy managers will be hoping for more of the same from Serge Aurier, who served up a pair of assists from right-back in the opener.

Colombia, meanwhile, are unchanged after a convincing 3-0 win over Greece. This sees James Rodriguez fielded in “the hole” behind Teofilo Gutierrez, with both looking to notch for a second successive appearance, whilst Juan Cuadrado owners will be optimistic after he produced a couple of assists from the right wing against the Greeks.

After that one, England take on Uruguay in a vital Group D showdown. Having tasted defeat last time around, both teams desperately need a win to boost their chances of progressing – the South Americans could have Luis Suarez back in the fold after he sat out the 3-1 defeat to Costa Rica due to a knee problem, whilst Roy Hodgson has a dilemma over Wayne Rooney’s role up front, after fielding the United man on the left and through the middle in the 2-1 loss to Italy last Saturday night.

In the late 11pm kick-off, Japan and Greece also attempt to recover from Matchday 1 losses. Keisuke Honda will be looking to maintain the form that saw him score against Ivory Coast in the opener, whilst Shinji Ozazaki, with 15 goals in the Bundesliga for Mainz in 2013/14, carries a threat down the right. Greece mustered a mere two shots on target in the 3-0 defeat to Colombia and, having failed to impress at either end of the pitch, could be subject to changes, with Fulham’s Kostas Mitroglou perhaps in line to start after appearing off the bench in the opener.

And now, we lost the penalty shootout! Somebody shoot that clown.

Quick question guys now the whole formation debacle has been updated, if for example I have used all my midfielders up and I have a defender left can I take one of the midfielders out and put the defender in or are you unable to change formation once all of your players from a certain position have played.

The way the lineup reads makes it seem like he'll have a central role. There has been so much media coverage over the issue that Hodgson will most likely play him there. If he doesn't and he has a shite game he'll never hear the end of it.

I guess from the response no one really understands the formation rule, at least when they took a player off from the right we knew we could change formation. If you can't change your last midfielder in your team or even 2 if playing 5 for example for 2 defenders then it defeats the object of having a 23 man squad if your other defenders have scored well for example.

Its simple really, you cant change to a formation if that means a player who has already played drops out

No because you have to sub out the player yourself first. Before if you changed formation the player dropped out and you had no control over this

Im not saying its a good system, its shite, but at least you cant now get accidential substitutions

Just out of curiosity, do people think Rooney's best position is as a 10 or a 9? 34 goals in 43 games when played as an out and out striker in 2012.

Think Mata and Kagawa are both better than him in the 10 role, but England don't have anyone as good in that position, and Sturridge was in better goalscoring form so is rightfully the 9 here.

4-4-2 diamond like Liverpool's could be used or even a more flat one like Atletico Madrid's at times. Just don't get the hate campaign when he's being played out of position.

His scoring record for England and United has been good this past year. He was United's best outfield player last season as well. Really don't get the hate.

His best is a 9, but for England 10 due to the other players. Sturridge has to be the out and out striker.

Agreed but 4-4-2 can still work if utilised correctly (Man City, Atletico Madrid, even Real Madrid in big CL games).

I've always preferred him up front. He had a few games there for United last season and he looked much more like his old self.

He only fits as a striker in a good team, if the team is poor than he is better dropping deep and getting the ball. He is also a better passer and a distance shooter than sturridge, so more suitable for that role

JuanMataBeast just quit our MC'D halfway through the tournament. When I asked him, why did you quit the league, he replied can't be arsed. What a shame really, why want to join a league in the first place if you are to quit later. Only if Nate would have let me pick the team...

I think the only solution will be for your team to recruit another person who's played since Round One. Get him to take a screenshot of his last round points, although he won't be able to visit his Round 1 team as the link is not clickable anymore.

But first, it will be advisable for you to write to the hosts to explain the problem. The panel of hosts will decide accordingly.
