Sky Sports Fantasy Football 2014/15 Is Now Live

As some of you may already know, the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game for 2014/15 opened its doors earlier today. With a lull in the World Cup action, Fantasy managers are afforded our first chance to dabble in domestic issues as we tentatively cobble together our initial teams for the season ahead:

The Sky Sports game is one that we’ve covered in the past, with our Members area including the relevant bonus point recipients across the positions.

After winning the Best League for each of the last couple of campaigns, we’re looking forward to defending our title once again. The winner of last season’s Scout League picked up £1,000 for their achievements and we’re hoping to offer prizes for whoever finishes at the summit once again.

We’ll be re-starting our official league soon and will be rolling out a series of articles over the next couple of weeks, looking at the Player List and analysing the best tactical approaches. Regular contributor d1sable will be on board once again to give his hints and tips every Friday afternoon – having finished inside the top 10 last year, he’s clearly a man worth listening to.

    Getting little cold feet after being settled to go without Muller & Neymar...
    Anyone happen to know (or have at least good guess) how much of those defenders big points came because of extra time?

    Talking Fernandez, VanBuyten, Mertesacker, Gonzalez for example.

    We've had so many extra times, that Coughlin's law says there's no extra times this round 🙂

      They are actually good. Dont play to destroy a team, they just want to win and win, organised really well. Manager dont try to experiment much.
      I think their width will cause problem, dont see much goals in that game.

          He has couple of assists. Not RB magnet but get few every game, on few set piece, always capable to score/assist. He has scored pts consistently at 9ppg, so not bad at all.

      This is almost my exact team though instead of KDB I invested in a 6th defender in Garay. The rest is identical 😆 Well for the time being anyways...

        tbh.. i did have one more defender but decided to go with an extra mid cause the game does not allow a 5-2-3.. so in reality i'll be playin a 4-3-3 in all likelihood so wanted more mid options

          That's a good point actually. I reckon I'll be aiming towards a 5-3-2 in the end but tough decisions if all 3 strikers hit it big.

            exactly the reason i went with a big mid. guys like neymar and messi get points even with out scoring/asistin.. and robben plays the last game so i'll prob have to take a punt on him so in all likelihood it'll be 3 upfront. with just 4 at the back in that case unfortunately

      Sneijder doesn't track back, Robben will steal his attacking points, ditto applies to Kroos. Fernandinho will spend 90% of the game going in late on JRod and is a yellow card magnet
