      Yep triple German defence gave me a nice boost! I'll be delighted with a top 50 finish, I think I've had more players played than most people this round so I'll probably drop soon.
      
      I think wildcarding for the semis will be the best tactic as the 3rd v 4th playoff is in the same GW as the final, so technically none of your players will be 'knocked out' yet. Because of that, I don't think there's much point in saving your WC for the final, but it could be a nice little differential to have.

    agreed, it's ridiculous. especially when defenders that had no goals or assists and were on a losing team can score more points than someone who scored a goal.
    
    only part of the scoring I like is that it rewards keepers for saves more. would like to see FPL go to 1pt per 2 saves. but other than that the scoring system is poor

      I don't think saves are the issue for GKs, as players like Mannone get save points aplenty. The issue is the GKs from good defences and I think they should get 6 points for CS as they have minimal other avenues for points compared to defenders.

    It has certainly become a much better game than it first looked - but no doubt by the next WC they'll mess it up again ...... The best thing they could have done was play test the comp before it was laucned, rather than leaving us to test it and tweak changes as we went along.

  I think the defensive points are just fine except for the blocked shots which is very high maybe it can work like the 1 pt for every 2 BS, and for the assist it needs some enhancement, for example Neymar got the assist points yester and he didnt mean to play it to Silva while Valbuena didn't get 2 assist points when he did mean to play the 2 passes to the goalscorers

  After the initial farce, the only way was up. I'm a fan of the interactive style, takes the casual out of the running, and rewards those who actually give a toss. Possibly too many attempts to get your captain right, and scoring heavily weighted in favour of defs has been different. Perhaps not wrong, but different.

  Utter rubbish. Too much focus on stats. Changing captains every match is too much and really disadvantages other timezones. Interface looks like it has been out together my first year IT students.
  
  Next time get the defensive stats down to manageable levels. Allow subs only once per day. Get a decent interface that works on all devices. I'm basically describing UFPL here

  I agree with most of the points made so far.
  
  It would be a better game with transfers allowed between Group Stage match-days, but with fewer wildcards and restrictions on numbers of transfers allowed or costs for making extra ones. Squads become far too similar when everyone has the same budget and a wildcard every round, and there is no advantage in trying to look ahead any further than the next round.
  
  They also ought to clarify all the rules before the game starts instead of making them up as they go along. For example, I selected a large number of cheapies in my initial squad because I didn't expect them to be available later after their teams had been eliminated and was hoping that this might became a differential for the Knock-out Stages, but they then unexpectedly allowed everyone to transfer in players from eliminated teams after all.
  
  Also, if only 2 players were allowed per team in the Group Stage, as in 2010, then it would force us to include players from a bigger spread of teams.
  
  And I would like to see more statistics on the site, so that we could see players' scores for every round (not just their total points) together with breakdowns of how many they scored for goals, assists, recovered balls, blocked shots etc.; points per match played; percentage ownership etc., without having to create our own spread-sheets.
