The waiting is finally over. Just three days after the World Cup came to a conclusion on Sunday evening, our thoughts immediately focus on domestic matters after Fantasy Premier League (FPL) opened its doors once again this afternoon:

This morning’s release of the Player Price List heightened our anticipation – only three midfielders and four forwards are priced above the 10.0 barrier, with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez the subject of much interest after he was classified as a midfielder for the season ahead.

There are changes to how the Bonus Point System (BPS) is calculated, too. Essentially, every previous statistic which factored towards a player’s BPS score is now multiplied by three – a forward earns 24 points towards his BPS score, for example, instead of eight in 2013/14, whilst a shot off target takes a single point from a player’s BPS score; previously, the system only deducted a point for every three wayward efforts.

A new factor introduced to the BPS is the decision to reward players for successful dribbles. Full-backs and wide men who are willing to take on opponents are now smiled upon favourably here – they earn a single point towards their BPS total, the same as providing a key pass. These new tweaks should hopefully prevent situations where, as we saw many times last term, numerous players picked up bonus points in the same match.

Fantasy managers now have the chance to assemble our 15-man squads with just a month until the campaign gets underway on Saturday August 16, where the early lunchtime kick-off sees United and Swansea go head-to-head in Louis Van Gaal’s first official match in charge.

As always, we’ll be rolling out a series of articles on the Player Price List over the coming days, breaking them down by position.

For now, this is just a heads-up. Enjoy tinkering, everyone!

The Eredivisie is not as good as the PL, so things will be harder for him, but Newcastle's system should suit him more than how he used to play for Ajax. I think he'll do well, so more than 10 goals should be possible.

Just wary that it might be one of those liverpool performances without suarez which we saw earlier on last season. It would be very interesting to see how they play without suarez really.

I think I need to see more pre-season games from liverpool (or at least read the reports), I like lallana but 9m is a tad bit much I think

Agree, he's being overhyped on here. Had a good season 4 years ago and done nothing since. Might not even start for Leicester

        Bruce ain't guaranteed at all.

Chester and Curtis Davies are the main two.

You said that Bruce was a guaranteed starter at a push.

            I'm saying he's not a guaranteed starter.

Dummett worth a look if he aint replaced. I wouldn't say he's going to start the season but with Santon reportedly injured, he COULD be a bargain.

    A) Trippier/Eriksen/Fabregas (worried that he'll be playing a deeper role)

    or

    B) Shackell/Tadic/Hazard

0.5m more an you are in Snodgrass territory.

Otherwise, i'd go cheaper on the fifth and re-invest in a starting beast.

Mata- has shown he has potential to score goals when played in his favoured position (no.10), if he does okay behind Rooney and R.V.P he could get a fair share of goals and assists, but at 10m is more expensive than the latter.

Sterling - devastating on the break, has composure, and can score from long range. But with no Suarez will he still have the same spark? (The same could be said for all of liverpool's attacking players) Plus champions league football comes into it and he may be subject to rotation.. However at 8.5m he could be a steal if he replicates some of his best form last year..

Silva- one of the best creative players and is an assist machine. With the new BPS he could thrive. At 9m he appears to be one of the more appealing City attacking players - with the likes of Toure and Aguero coming in at a hefty 11m and 12m respectively.

I'm edging towards silva or sterling but can't make my mind up.

Who would you pick out of the three?

Mata, then Silva. Sterling is way too expensive for me. Will likely be heavily rotated, wouldn't be surprised if he got around 15 starts this season

    Version 1, any suggestions?

    Foster, Guzan
    De Laet,Clyne, Debuchy, O'shea, Vlaar
De Jong, Sanchez, Shelvey, Eriksen, Albrighton
    RVP, Sturridge, Pelle

My main concerns are no premium defender, and got a few players who've yet to prove themselves in EPL: De Jong, Sanchez & Pelle.

Being an Udinese fan means Sanchez must be in there 🙂

Cameron - Ben Davies - Debuchy - Vlaar - Upson
Yaya Toure - Hazard - Ramsey - Puncheon - Barkley
    Rooney - Giroud - Jelavic

Much better than the last one, downgrade Barkley or Puncheon and upgrade defence I think.
