With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is D1sable, the winner of the 2013/14 Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league.

De Gea/Hamer
Filipe Luis, Chester, Moore, Cameron, Mariappa
Sterling, Ramsey, Albrighton, Sigurdsson, Mata
Rooney, Diego Costa, Dzeko

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back,  just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later.  He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

A RMT would be much appreciated! Pretty new here and not sure what to do with my extra £1.0 - should I upgrade Eriksen to Nasri/Silva?

    De Gea (Gilks)
Cahill, Debuchy, B Davies (Wisdom, Moore)
    Eriksen, Ramsey, Hazard, Young (Albrighton)
    Giroud, Dzeko, Rooney

    Thanks!

I'm planning to sub Sterling for Fabregas in GW2. Costa/Hazard are too expensive at the moment and I don't want to have to downgrade too many other players.

    repost, bottom of last page

    hi all,
    very much template, I think....

    De Gea/Gilks
    Vertonghen/Luis/Van Aaholt/Coloccini/Moore
    Mata/Sanchez/Fabs/Siggy/Albrighton
    Costa/Rooney/Bojan

Defence, 2 big hitters, rotate new/sun, moore starting bench fodder.

Midfield, undecided, pool coverage with sterling, spurs with lamella/eriksen
Prob downgrade Fabs to do so with Costa in attack.

Attack-Rooney/Costa no brainer for me, Bojan is an obvious punt, but gives me a good balanced side.
I have been burnt by Boselli in the past!

I keep reading warnings that Hazard is having a crummy preseason, and people are steering RMT's away from him and to Fabregas. Being in the US, it's been hard to get a real handle on what's going wrong except on FFS.

Can someone give me a little more insight to what's wrong with my 10.0 pick?

    RMT

    Formation: 3-4-3

    GK: Lloris, Mannone
DEF: José Enrique, Ben Davies, Clyne, Cameron, Bruce
MID: Nasri, Erikssen, Mata, Sterling, Albrighton
    ATT: Rooney (c), Welbeck, Giroud

    Transfer funds: £2.0M remaining.

    My thought process...

In defense I have opted for a rotation system, using cheap but attacking players from Liverpool, Spurs, Stoke, Southampton and Sunderland. With the exception of GW3, when Spurs defenders face Liverpool at White Hart Lane, there are no match-ups against top-half sides for the first 10 game-weeks.

In attack I've went with Welbeck. RVP is injured so Welbeck is very likely to start and with easy opening fixtures he is also quite likely to score or assist goals. If that happens then I expect people to make moves for him in the transfer market with will increase his value. When his starting position is no longer guaranteed my intention is to sell him and replace Albrighton with a starting midfielder. What do you think?

I honestly think I'm on to a winner with that one, I was almost hesitant to share it with you all. Welbeck isn't THAT bad and LVG has already outlined him as being one of United's better players.

I'm sorry to say this but I don't like this team that much. Here's why:

Lloris is 5.5…you'd probably play him most games at that price…like DDG.
Mannone has had an injury and little pre-season…could well not start.
Enrique…Have they not signed a new LB? Starts are my concern here…
Bavies…Probably will start but monitor his game time.
Clyne…here's hoping SOT can keep their heads up…
Cameron…I'm in the same boat with this one…let's see…
      Bruce…may not start as much.

Nasri…fair shout, he had a good start and end to last season.
      Erikson…cool
      Mata…cool
Sterling…Um, my jury is out on this one…some have him though…
      Albrighton…fair enough…

      Rooney…pretty standard
Giroud…watch his game time. Wenger did say he was a bit behind on fitness…
Welbeck…not a fan…I don't think he will start in the system LVG has setup…so for me there are too many doubts over him…

Sorry man…those are my thoughts…I'm also just guessing…go with your gut though….

Thanks. I don't think my defense is quite there yet either, I'll definitely be tinkering with it before the season starts. I partly agree with you regarding Sterling too, I think Rodgers has invested terribly this transfer window which could see Liverpool struggle to reproduce last seasons form. I seem to be one of a few who rate Welbeck at all, but I think he could surprise people this season.

I have DDG and Evans in defence with Rooney up-front. But two United players in defence may not be a good idea as if United concedes a goal, both clean sheets are gone.
So, I am thinking to use "Begovic / Krul" rotation instead of "DDG / Gilks", and play Evans in defence, is that right? All suggestions are welcome....Cheers.

I like doubling up in defence with a solid team but you waste another attacking spot from MUN (the team with the easiest opening fixtures in the history of the Premier League).
Are you sure you don't want to squeeze Mata into your team?

If I want to squeeze in Mata, then I would need to go for Evans and Begovic / Krul. Moreover, I should downgrade Shelvey and find a 5m rated mid who may not start. So problems everywhere...

There's no doubt that they will get the most cleansheets this season - but that's why they cost so much. I don't think that they are essential early on, especially when your chosen defender might only play 4 in 5 unless someone is injured.
My defence gives the following fixtures in the first 10 weeks.....

            (SWA,CPL,AVL) (sun,WHM,hul) (bur,lei,new) (QPR,BUR,LEI) (lei,avl,qpr) (WHM,LEI,NEW) (EVE,hul,sun) (wba,HUL,SWA) (sun,wba,sot) (BUR,SUN,WHM)

This is without playing whoever is £4m... and yes I will be benching Debuchy 4 times in the first 7 weeks but it all seems to work as long as Huth starts.

Felipe Luis is my Chelsea pick. Nailed on (Fingers crossed) due to expensive transfer + he left Liga winners. Contributes to the attack and should gain from new dribbles points. 0.5 cheaper than Cahill and Terry.

I'm taking a chance on Mannone starting. He's a great goalkeeper and I'm happier having him and swapping if it doesn't work out than trying to get him in. I personally think he'll play and lose his spot if he makes mistakes.

If the intention is a 3-4-3 I'm not sure I'd be comfortable playing Austin every week. If that's a 3-5-2 then I'd look to shave some money in defence and boost that 4.5m mid. Currently you have to play one of Albrighton (another 4.5m) and Austin every week or go 4 at the back, which is not advisable with OShea and Wisdom. An upgrade for one of Austin or the 4.5m is needed I think.

Saying a defender other than Baines will score goals is complete pot luck. Martin Skrtel never scored more than 2 goals before last year where he got 7. Any year it's just a matter of who's lucky enough to be on the end of those corners

      Luis over Azpi.

You're bench must be paper thin if you're starting Wisdom?? He's not nailed on and you don't wanna be wasting a valuable early transfer on sorting out your budget defender.

Maybe Fabregas->Eriksen to free up funds for defence seeing as you already have one heavy hitting Chelsea player, plus fab isn't nailed on to get the no 10 role

I'll be playing Azpi and Evans every week and 1 of Wisdom/Moore/Hutton so it looks fine I guess.
Fabregas might not play in the No.10 role yes but he'll be on fk's and corners

Don't like the Henderson pick and, despite potential and the enthusiasm of everyone on the site, Siggy is still a punt at this stage. I'd ditch Skrtel, get a 5.0 or 4.5 def and upgrade Henderson. Nice strikers. What's your bench? *Cameron is also not nailed on atm.

It's a good team. I'd watch the Charity Shield to compare Sanchez with Ramsey, you could do a lot of strengthening with that extra 1.5m

Im having doubts over luis lamela and jovetic. i just think that i have gone for too many punts instad of security

I agree, although all could do well. definitely monitor all three over the last friendlies.
The budget is spread quite well although I'm not convinced by Bojan yet, in the goals he has scored it has looked like the defenders are backing off a lot more than they will in the PL.

Will Bartley play? I'd go Eriksen over Lamela personally. I don't like Bojan from GW1, I'd wait to see how he does. I'd also opt for Ramsey over Sanchez, due to pre-season form and extended rest.

How about this team for GW1?
    Begovic
    Luis Evans Chester
    Sanchez Hazard(vc) Eriksen Siggurdson
    Rooney(c) Dzeko Lukaku

    Bench: Gilks,Albrighton,Wisdom,Moore.

    Key points:
1.Going for Lukaku despite tough fixtures as there'nt too many reliable options below options...also,Everton have City and Chelsea to play at home which means they should be able to score.Bony is another option but two Swansea attackers is overkill.
2.Hazard instead of Fabregas because of uncertainty regarding Fabregas' position.
    3.Luis because I'm dead sure he'll start.
4.Always like to go light in defense at the start.

    Thoughts?

    Begovic 4.0
    Luis Evans Bavies 4.5 4.0
    Hazard Sigurdsson Mata Eriksen 4.5
    Rooney Dzeko Giroud

1.0 in bank. Not sure on Bavies at the moment. Thoughts? Was thinking of keeping .5 in the bank to be able to upgrade to one of those pricks that goes to 9.1 or similar. That leaves me with .5 to spend, so what to do? Was thinking of Bavies to a 5.5 but unsure.

Shackell, with that set of opening fixtures? Chambers, with Mert, Debuchy and Kos ahead of him after week 1?

There are better options like N Taylor, Van Aanholt, Pocognoli, Coloccini and whoever Southampton start in place of Lovren.

Don't know if anyone at Stoke is nailed, but regardless, there's no great need to double up unless you're starting the Stoke defender each week. In that case, there's no need for Ward. I say dump Pieters and get one of the Davies.

I like your approach of staying away from 4.0 defenders. I assume you're rotating Sig and Banjo?

My only worry is that if another expensive forward besides Rooney hits top form, you'll need to take a hit.
