With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is D1sable, the winner of the 2013/14 Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league.

De Gea/Hamer
Filipe Luis, Chester, Moore, Cameron, Mariappa
Sterling, Ramsey, Albrighton, Sigurdsson, Mata
Rooney, Diego Costa, Dzeko

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back,  just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later.  He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Similar to my team, so I like it. I prefer to start with Sanchez, because not having him would be very costly if he takes off right away from GW1. If he doesn't meet expectations, would be very easy do downgrade to any star midfield player.

      Krul/Foster

Siggy over Albrighton IMO. Cheap 5th mids who are new signing at their club are not the best punt for GW1.

I like your attack, although I feel both Costa and Joveticup front is a bit punty.

    Mannone sub: Krul
Clyne, Debuchy, Dawson subs: Bruce/ Wisdom (if they look to play)
Mata, Fabregas, De Jong, Sterling sub: Albrighton (maybe change Fabregas to Silva or Ramsey?)
    Costa, Rooney, Giroud

I really hate having 4 main point producers coming from just 2 teams and no Man City point getters at all, so i am thinking of changing Costa, Giroud ---> Pelle, Jovetic/Dzeko/Remy and the points left over to upgrade Wisdom to maybe Jones from ManU....but I just don't know. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I originally had Jovetic in, but I really dislike ManCity's fixtures. But possibly Jovetic in GW1 and switch him out for Pelle who has pretty favorable GW2-12, all mid/lower table teams.

Man City score a lot of goals regardless of their fixtures thanks to their team quality. Pelle is an exciting option at 7.5, but he is unproven in EPL so I would watch and see how he does before getting him.

Too little spent in defence perhaps. De Jong looks doubtful for GW1 and Sterling's fixtures aren't great. Mannone has doubt over his start and I'm not sure Dawson is nailed-on either. A lot of risks there for my liking.

I think so. Defenders can earn clean sheet points only once per game, while forwards can score multiple goals and earn goal points multiple times.

To strengthen your striking force, I raise 4M by:
          Shaw to Phil Jones 0.5
          Rosenior to Wisdom 0.5
          Barkley to Siggy 1
          Arnautovic to Albrighton 2

then get Dzeko 8.5 or Jovetic 8 instead of Zamora

Pick 3 of your 4 5m+ defenders and downgrade the other one to a cheap player. 4-3-3 at the start isn't a good idea IMO, especially with Arsenal's fixtures and doubts over Shaw's fitness/game-time. I would personally drop Debuchy and consider picking a CB over Shaw.

With the money this raised, I'd upgrade someone in your attack.

I see what you're saying and I although I agree that there are a lack or options, it will be hard for you to quickly bring in-form player in if you have to first use transfers to downgrade elsewhere to bring them in. Costa allows flexibility. If he flops, just sell him quickly for a bandwagon with 1 transfer

Not sure about Courinho and Sterling with those fixtures. I could be wrong though. Here are my preferred mids (in no order)

          Hazard/Fabregas Eriksen Mata Ramsey Siggy/Puncheon

I have him in my team as well and he is pretty much nailed on to start. The question is where is he playing?? I have read a couple articles saying they might play him in a deeper role back as a ball possession guy due to his 'vision' and passing. Very much the way BR uses Gerrard. If that happens, then all points will go to Hazard as the attacker. And i looks like Hazard might get the nod again for set pieces. If he keeps playing him the way he has been this preseason, then good stuff as he looks to be playing well together with Costa.

Yo folks, for the first time I'm posting an RMT! Let me know your thoughts. I'm not settled on my defence yet as it depends on who I feel is nailed-on and what budget is left after I am happy with my attack, which is my priority early on.

My defence will probably include United (DDG, Evans or a new CB), Spurs, Palace (probably Ward) and Chelsea cover, plus two whichever 4m bench options are deemed to be nailed. I plan to play 3 at the back every week for the first few week. I like DDG, Vert, Cahill and Ward with 3 x 4m bench fodder but fear I won't be able to afford that.

    Here is my attack:

    Hazard Ramsey Mata Puncheon Siggy

    Rooney Costa Naismith

Notes: I really want to fit Eriksen in somehow. I could do this by downgrading Costa to Dzeko and upgrading Puncheon, or by simply downgrading Mata or Hazard and free funds so that picking my defence is easier.

I am planning a 3-5-2 with Naismith on the bench due to lack of inspiration in the striking options. I know my bench is really weak, but I like the fact that owning Rooney, Costa and three expensive mids gives me flexibility to quickly react and get in any player in the game within a couple of transfer. I will no doubt upgrade Naismith within the first 3-4 weeks once a viable option emerges from any money I get from downgrading the above mentioned big-hitters.

      Vert Ward Cahill 4m 4m

I don't dislike Punch but Palace will likely treat defensive solidity as their big priority so I don't think he's anything more than one of many options...I don't like your Naismith pick because he's a squad player...so I'd save cash on Punch and improve Naismith

your desire for "cover" just means you're unwilling to take a calculated risk...your desire to avoid low scores is greater than your desire for a high avareage

they bought bardsley...most likely cameron is first choice but this isn't certain and he may not be ready at the start of the season anyway...it's also possible that they'll play bard-cam-shaw-pieters...with huth frozen out...i think pieters is safest and there are safer £4.5m options than cameron who is cheap for the reasons I've just told you

Well you fielded a nice defense so Mid gotta be weak. My thought is if you had to take punt take in defense rather than in attack.

So if i were you i would have done Vert>Davis yes i know not nailed on but he is the punt and Hazard>Fab so then you can update Punch to Eriksen/Lamela.

Or you can do Mata to Young for united mid coverage and improve both Punch and Naismith that way defense will be strong but again mid will suffer but probably will fare better than current one.

    DDG
    Jones, Luis, Cameron, Figueroa
    Sanchez, Hazard, Lamela, Siggy
    Rooney, Diego Costa
(Jaaskelaainen, Dummett/ S Taylor, Albrighton, Bojan)

I like the team just not sure about having 3 Chelsea and Man U players. I'm thinking of Costa, Sanchez and Dummett > Sturridge, Ramsey and N Taylor. Man City forwards are too risky, especially with CL. Swansea/Newcastle, Stoke and Hull is one of the best rotations.

Do not see sturridge value imo. He will do well but not 11.5 worth. You would get better value in the likes of Costa or even Dzeko imo. That will leave a lot of money in the bank to upgrade in both GK (1.0 upgrade) and the rest upgrading your fourth midfielder

I am more or less set on this team unless something drastic happens (big money signing etc)

    What do people think?

    DDG (Myhill)
    Lovern, Cahill, Davies (Vlaar, Bruce)
    Hazard, Siggy, Mata, Sanchez (Albrighton)
    Rooney, Dzeko, Austin
    :
Lovern for liverpool will do very well I feel. With Liverpool's main attacking asset sold and no valid replacement signed They may go with Sturr as a lone striker and may play a little more positional football. That may mean not leaking as much goals as they did last season

Davies is a punt concidering rotation talk but I feel he will nail down a spot and may get a few CS

If Vlaar does go to the likes of Southampton or United he will instantly start for me as he will do brilliant

Decent enough team. I like the lovren pick. Should score plenty with gerrard set pieces as well. Great teamr rally only swap Bruce for either duff,Moore or possibly even Bartley as they have more chance of playing then Bruce.

Hello to one an all - HAPPY FRIDAY! - Can your RMT and I will love you forever 😉

    Foster (Krul)
    Evans, Luis, PvA (Mariappa, Rosenior)
    Ramsey, Eriksen, Mata, Fabregas (Siggy)
    Rooney (C), Lukaku (VC), Bojan

I like how this team can switch from 3-4-3 to 3-5-2 quite easily with Siggy coming in GW2.

    RMT please:

    Begovic - Gilks
    Debuchy - Cahill - Evans - O' Shea - Duff
    Sigurdsson - Mata - Sanchez - Sterling - Albrighton
    Rooney - Costa - Bojan

What I have been thinking here is a cheap, but flexible and playable bench. By rotating between O'Shea (4.5), Albrighton(4.5) and Bojan (5.5) based on fixture and form, I may play both 4-4-2, 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 without leaving too much on the bench, and still getting something out of everyone on the field. What do you think?

I curently have Cahill in my team but should I free up 0.5 by getting Luis? I am pretty happy all round with my team but I feel that small 0.5 will do me good if I need to slightly upgrade of facilitate a player in the same price bracket with a rising price due to playing well. Is it worth it?

    Hi guys. My doubt:

    Sterling + Bojan
    Or
    Sidwell + Dzeko

(Both Bojan and Sidwell rotate perfectly with Sigurdson)

    Remaining team:

    Caulker ; NTaylor ; Cameron ; Chambers ; Bruce
    Fabregas ; Mata ; Ramsey ; Sigurdson ; __________
    Rooney ; Costa ; ___________
