With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back,  just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later.  He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

    Going to be largely off the grid for the next week and will likely only be an occasional lurker, so here is my only RMT of the summer. Any comments welcome and appreciated. Cheers.

    I like the price points here as I think the 9.0s are pretty interchangeable in midfield and feel that Lukaku is worth an extra 0.5m to rise above the forwards at 8.5m, many of whom I like but give me some small doubt. Good luck all.

      i would do Baines>Chelsea defender,Young>Siggy and Fabregas>Mata. But that team should do well for sure.

      Spend an extra 0.5 and get a GK you can rotate with Krul.

      Baines has hard opening fixtures so would swap him for United or Chelsea defender

      Cameron may not be a started according to some on here.

      Would not double up on Chelsea midfield

      Not sold on Young although he does have some love on here

      Stay clear of Remy until you know where he will be playing next season.

      I think there are better options than Lukaku but he is a decent option.

      Really like the midfield as I think you have the bases covered. Not a huge fan of cheap fwds but you should be in good shape with the midfield. Caulker is awesome and I wish I could fit him in.

    Two dilemmas with my team at the moment:

    1. Bojan or F. Campbell as a third striker?

    2. Either Tadic/Giroud or Hoilett/Costa?

      Tadic and Giroud could work, but I think I'd then rather go with Dzeko from the start.

      If you are sure on Campbell being a secure starter, he is actually not the worst pick.

      Do not downgrade Hazard.

      Not to sure on Luis from the start. With Cameron and Mariappa and Chambers AND Bartley in there too, you might be without three starters.

    Barring injuries or some big news I've decided on the core of my team. But I would love some help in choosing between the alternative fill-ins. Would like to keep a little in the bank for the inevitable transfers too. Anyone care to offer their 50 cent?

    Hazard - Sanchez - Eriksen - Sigurdsson + 4.5

    Rooney - Dzeko - Austin

    Alternative A: Foster/Krul as keepers. Cahill, Ward/Caulker as perfect rotators + 4.0 bencher (1m in bank)

    Alternative B: Speroni/Green as keepers. Cahill, Pieters/Naylor as perfect rotators + 4.0 bencher (1m in bank)

    Alternative C: Speroni/Green as keepers. Cahill, Clyne, Wisdom (good GW1) + another 4.0 bencher (1.5 in bank)

    Alternative D: Vertonghen instead of Cahill in either of the above, with 0.5 extra to spare.

      looking good to me, exept for your bench. I think you need to upgrade one of wisdom/hutton to a nailed on 4.5 defender to rotate with PVA. Collocini would be a good choice imo

      I have quite a few issues with this team

      Let's start simple, rather than Tadic & Herrera, downgrade one to a 6.0 (Siggurdson, Puncheon or Henderson) and upgrade the other to a 9.0 (Mata, Fabregas, etc)

      Also, if you have Howard for. 5.5, are you going to play him every week? If yes, then downgrade Krul to a 4.0

      Not a fan of owning Arsenal defense before week 8, check their fixtures

        Was thinking of an alternative of Krul Mannone, which along with my above changes of Dawson, Evans and Mariappa, frees up some points to replace Tadic with Hazard. Which makes it:

        Krul (Mannone)

        Cahill Dawson Evans (Cameron) (Mariappa)

        Herrera Sanchez Eriksen Hazard (Tiote)

        Rooney Bojan Dzeko

    De Jong, Sanchez, Ramsey, Sterling, Eriksen
    Nugent, Dzeko, Rooney

    Or switching Costa for Dzeko, and Siggy or Odemwingie (categorized as midfielder) for Ramsey or Sterling to balance out. And depending on value leftover, Tadic for De Jong.

        I have the same problem with whether to take Costa or Giroud/Dzeko and get a little more strength in midfield. Costa is expensive....

        Your midfield is very nice, all of those players will get strong points. Not sure about Nugent, Leicester have some difficult early fixtures and it's tough to say how they're going to do. Most are saying not good. There are other good choices for 5.5 points.

        Rating? 7, but I'm just getting into this so I'm not exactly an authority.

        For GW 1
        1) Mata
        2) Fab
        3) Ramsay

        If you are happy with rest of the team, you could pick any one, each week with your 1 weekly transfer...

      Agger won't start for Liverpool. You also need some Chelsea players, maybe Hazard for Sanchez

        Yrah, Chelsea is my team, but with all of the midfielders you never know who will play, except for Hazard and likely Fabregas. Sanchez is enticing only because he may play a more forward position but recieve midfield points. Also why i have Costa as an option.

        Yeah I actually had Ward at first and am monitoring whether or not Palace buy a new LB , seems a bit silly to have a 5.0 defender on the bench though. If I do I might as well nab Curtis Davies who is far more of a goal threat, Hull are good for CS's at home, and rotate well with QPR early.

        You're right about Shaw as well. Watching him closely. 😉 If he's not 100% to start next week I will get rid, for an Arsenal D like Mert or Kos (Debuchy gets too many cards IMO, which btw Caulker doesn't at all!)

        I'm v confident that Hendo will be worth his value in gold, though his value means I can rotate him with Sig/Bojan if needed (like GW2 at City). Bojan has 3 in 3 in preseason and looks awesome, I'm confident.

        I'm concerned about my Gk's... Is it too big a risk to stick with Krul only, or should I rotate with Mannone or Foster? Krul racks up saves away from home though so I think 4.5 is a steal.

        Might downgrade Ramsey at GW2 due to fixtures, especially if I like the look of Tadic. At GW3 possibly swap Costa for Sturridge, let's see.

        Btw what are your thoughts on Trippier? Leila he get enough points to offset lack of CS's?

      I would probably play Sigurdsson and put Henderson as sub. He is a more prolific goalscorer and will likely see much more time on the pitch for Swansea than he did spurs. But thats just me...

    Made a few more amendments:

    Begovic (Gilks)

    Evans, B.Davies, Ward (O'Shea, L.Moore)

    Mata, Fabregas, Sanchez, Siggy (Albrighton)

    Rooney, Lukaku, Jovetic

    Pretty happy with this now, but not certain on defence and recognise I might need to change Jovetic depending on game time. Is Ben Davies looking set for starts? And do people think O'Shea is a better Sunderland option than Van Aanholt?

      Not sure about Jovetic starting come regular season, I would upgrade him to Dzeko or Bony. If you believe he will start then use the 0.5 to upgrade Elliot to Foster, he rotates well with Krul.

      Azpilicueta's minutes look risky and Jovetic is a bandwagon waiting to implode. Rest looks decent.

          I'd want an extra .5m to change Jovetic to Dzeko which rules Terry/Cahill out. Clyne looks a decent option to play every week in defence from GW2-12

            Yeah that might work, im thinking maybe Debuchy though, then Jov to Dzeko, But the way Jov is playing pre season, he's looking sharp atm.

      Rooney aside I really don't like that attack. The defence is too expensive and has left you short up front.

      I actually really like that team. I dunno about Bojan and there's rumbling that Davies isn't nailed on, but I think Nasri and Giroud could both be really good picks. Nasri especially.

        Thanks both, am a bit worried about Shaw and Davies from the off, especially if terry gets rotated.
        Maybe tone down the defence for a better third striker?

    MID - Hazard, Mata, Silva, Sigurdsson (Jedinak)

    FWD - Costa, Rooney, Wickham

    Any better cheap forwards or defenders?

      Azpilcueta is a bit risky (Although I think he'll start). Cameron also. Cheap forwards seem like a lottery to me, I'm putting Austin on my ticket. Wickham could easily be the pick of the bunch.

    Guys - Been doing a lot of playing around and this is what i have so far...:

    GK - Krul / Mannone (H/A Rotation)
    DEF - Shaw / Debuchy / Caulker (Cameron, Bruce)
    MID - Eriksen / Hazard / Mata / Sanchez (Albrighton)
    FWD - Rooney / Jovetic / Bojan

    View to upgrade Eriksen to Sterling after tough fixtures.
    OR
    View to upgrade Jovetic to Dzeko/Bony dependent on start certainty. Funded by Cameron v Wisdom trade.

    Have a look, let me know if you see any issues here.

        Agree with this. I also don't think Caulker is worth .5 over Ferdinand. I know he scored well last year, but for CBs attacking threat is partly luck for me.

        Will judge nearer the start of the season but if needs be i could swap out Shaw for Luis/Cahill and also Jovetic for Bony/Dzeko if he doesn't look like playing funded by a cameron downgrade.

        Looking to keep 3 at the back that offer a threat in the other box so rotation wouldn't be needed even with tricky fixtures.

        Another thought is if Costa goes off i could in time downgrade Eriksen for Siggurdson and upgrade Jovetic for Costa. Not overly worried about him just yet though. Bojan is a weakness but if Sanchez plays up front its a decent trade.

        Tough one this year.

          Mostly because I think Costa's a better bet to smash it than Lukaku over the first couple weeks. Could go either way though.
