With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is 7 Shades of Smoke’s RMT.

Courtois (Given)

Filipe Luís, Evans, Vermaelen (Chester, Wisdom)

Sanchez, Mata, Arnautovic, N’Zogbia (El Ahmadi)

Rooney, Diego Costa, Jovetic

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

I am really struggling now as it sounds like Mariappa will definately not start so I really need to find 0.5m so upgrade to Ward. Also I might need another 0.5m to upgrade Cameron if he isn't starting and I also might need to replace Ben Davies because apparently Danny Rose could be starting at left back. Any suggestions on what to do would be much appreciated.

    De Gea - Krul
    F.Luis - B.Davies - Mariappa - Ferdinand - Cameron
    Mata - Sterling - Eriksen/Lamela - Siggy - Tiote/Albrighton/El Ahmadi
    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko/Adebayor

(I plan to use Krul in 3 of the first 8 GW's when I will then drop De Gea so I would like to keep Krul in but if there is really no other option then I could drop him.)

You need to get rid of Davies, Mariappa and Cameron. Get some 4.0 defenders like Moore, Wisdom, Duff, Bartley...
Marney or Wanyama as the 4.5 mid
Consider Giroud as you don't have Arsenal coverage

You don't need to rotate DDG and Krul this early mate. I appreciate you have a detailed plan but you could use that 0.5 to flex out your lineup such as Mariappa to Ward.

Other than that Cameron is not nailed on but Wisdom looks like he is, so there's 0.5 for you there.

For the midfield there are lots of 4.5 options now Albrighton isn't healthy, none of them are safe bets unfortunately. I've been advised to have Isgrove.

Between Adebayor and Dzeko, the latter takes the cake without doubt.

Cheers, I picked my defence based on clubs initially and I really wanted 1 defender from Chelsea, Palace, Stoke and West Ham or QPR as it works well for my rotation strategies (Stoke and Swansea, I have Siggy and QPR and Palace rotate home/away quite well.)
TBH I need to save at least 0.5m but probably more so I probably should drop Krul. I will not change my attack and I want those teams in defence so my only option really is to downgrade 1 of Sterling, Eriksen or Siggy in midfield to make up the funds if I need more than 0.5m.
Also I do prefer Dzeko over Adebayor but given the early fixtures I was going to pick Adebayor and change after 6 GW's when fixtures turn round for both.
Isgrove seems risky, I only really want a 4.5m player to sit there and get 2 points if needed.

Lovren is a no for me, LFC fixtures are difficult with 2 away on GW2 and 3.
El Ahmadi not really nailed on and Everton are out of sorts so avoid Barkley

Vlaar was outstanding in WC but with a decent Dutch squad. Don't think AVL will let him score decently as they won't be immune to any proper strikers. Look for cheaper or same priced options.

Barkley is on the rise among most players but there are better options to have for less price i.e. Henderson or Siggy or some other lad. You might wanna upgrade Bojan with the saved money there.

Debuchy and Luis look nice, not sure about Yoshida though. Moore and Wisdom are wise choices with their low price tag.

Not really sure about Giroud with hard fixture and his low form despite CS today. I'd be hesitant to grab him this early.

Yoshida until Southampton sign a new CB.
Tough to chose a third striker: Dzeko out of form, Remy no preseason, Lukaku injured... I don't like the cheap options. Giroud looks a steal at his price and Arsenal play attacking football.
        Thanks for the feedback!

Krul and Manny rotate well, so good on that end.

Chambers should need a replacement sooner or later so you might look at different options, find 0.5 somewhere and upgrade to Ward maybe?

Albrighton is injured right not mate, other than that your midfield looks solid.

Giroud, eh, not so sure despite his stunner against City today. Too early.

      Clyne / Wilson / Hutton / Ward / Duff
      Marney / Mata / Ramsey / Sigurdsson / Hazard
      Sturridge / Rooney / Pellè

Happiest I've been with my team so far.

Defence is a budget one, a bit weak but you used that one on Pelle, good. I say downgrade Sturridge to Costa or Dzeko which leaves more money and upgrade to some decent defensive force. You can always think slipping Sterling to that lineup, downgrade Hazard maybe?

Only 2 at 5.5 I like are Debuchy, which you have, and Evans, where you have DDG. So you could double up on United's defence which is ballsy but oc fourse risky.
I think Clyne is a strong option at 5.0m, really nice fixtures aside from GW1.

Hi, anyone have any thoughts/suggestions regarding my team as it stands at the moment?

      Foster - Guzan

      Terry - Vlaar - Chester - Taylor - Cameron

      Mata - Ramsey - Tadic - Snodgrass - Mutch

      Rooney - Costa - Pelle

This leaves me with 1 mil in the bank, which I plan to use to upgrade Snodgrass to De Jong after the first game week.

Albrighton to Young. That way you get more United coverage without the cost of Mata, plus if he doesn't start it isn't hard to adjust that. Then maybe another 0.5 on Davies -> Jones.

Just my suggestions. Also not a massive Austin fan but that's just my opinion really!

I've gone for Mutch to begin with, but may well change to Siggy once the fixtures start to favour him. I think Mutch is more likely to have the instant impact in the first few weeks and the price rise that goes with that.

What do you think guys? Very few people seem to be going with Toure?

      Howard (Myhill)

      Wisdom, Debuchy, Lovren (Dummett, Bruce)

Fabregas, Sterling, Ramsey, Yaya, El Ahmadi

      Costa, Rooney (Zamora)

Zamora won't play when Remy comes back

        Defenders are weak

I can't see El Ahrmadi getting much time on the pitch this season. I think Joe Cole and the returning N'Zogbia will both be above him in the Villa pecking order.

Same for Zamora, both Austin and Remy will start ahead of him.

Maybe downgrade one of your more expensive strikers or midfielders to a mid priced player, so you can upgrade your bench to slightly stronger options?

Looks strong. I don't think El Ahrmadi will start this year though, and Chambers will likely only be a viable option until Mertesacker is back.

      What do you think?

      Begovic (Myhill)
C Davies, Vlaar, Azpi (Ward, Wisdom)
      Fabregas, Mata, Ramsey, Lamela (Rodwell)
      Rooney, Costa, Bojan

I am not too sure about Chelsea defenders since they're all expensive and not sure of the lineup (but I want at least one), and I am considering getting a more expensive striker and downgrading some midfielders. Thoughts?

Ivanovic at RB and Luis at LB??

That was my thinking - I am not sure whether Luis will get the nod over Azpi, massive dilemma.

      Thoughts?
      Mannone
      Wisdom-Lovren-Cahill
      Henderson-Mata-Hazard-Sanchez
      Diego Costa-Lukaku-Jovetic

Was thinking about dzeko or bony instead of lukaku, but im not so sure about dzekos playing time and im sure lukaku will be evertons 1st man upfront.
