With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is 7 Shades of Smoke’s RMT.

Courtois (Given)

Filipe Luís, Evans, Vermaelen (Chester, Wisdom)

Sanchez, Mata, Arnautovic, N’Zogbia (El Ahmadi)

Rooney, Diego Costa, Jovetic

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

    Hi guys,

Please rate my team if you get a second!

    Foster (Krul)
    Evans, O'Shea, Coloccini (Fonte, Taylor)
    Tradic, Hazard, Ramsey, Mata, Eriksen
    Rooney, Pelle' (5mil filler)

Looking to try the 3-5-2 approach this time around. Possibly even altering to a 4-5-1 depending on fixates (and how brave I'm feeling..).

Also thoughts on Gerrard this time around? Worth looking to squeeze in the midfield you think? Im struggling to see him picking up form in the coming weeks following his recent performances end of world cup / last season..

    Any input appreciated.
    Thanks

    RMT Please

    GK: Begovic (Myhill)

DEF: Evans, Debuchy, Clyne (Wisdom, Moore)

MID: Sterling, Eriksen, Mata, Siggy, Ramsey

    FOR: Costa, Rooney (Bojan)

Thinking about switching Sterling or Eriksen for Fabregas, but still on the fence since Fab sits deep.

I know my Defense is kind of light too. Open to any suggestions.

Way too light up front and top heavy in defence. You need to rethink the whole thing mate....sorry. Take into consideration fixtures in the first few weeks. Both arsenal and everton have tough ones and if you think lukaku and bojan will fire you to glory then you may feel great pain and an early wildcard.

depends what you want? Remy as first choice, Austin as backup then either. Remy will score more overall points but Austin is an unknown at this level. I watched him at Swindon and he was class so there is potential he could be a bargain!!

I can't see Fernando getting much game with fernandinho and Yaya..So maybe think about swapping him around, and try finding a player who is guaranteed gametime... I know theres not many available in the 5 mill bracket so you may have to downgrade a player by 0.5 to boost options otherwise could take a chance on a player such as wanyama, ward-prowse, Jedinak etc and hope they perform well 🙂

Rodgers talked him up saying that this would be his season. I think he could fulfil his potential and be a real differential especially now since the departure of Suarez. He will be given a more big game role.

    Team 1:

    BEGOVIC (Gilks)
    CAHILL Evans Chester (NTaylor) (Wisdom)
    SANCHEZ Mata Ramsey SIGGY (Wanyama)
    Rooney Costa AUSTIN

    Team 2:

    HAZARD Mata Ramsey ERIKSEN (Wanyama)
    Rooney Costa FLETCHER

    Basically:

      Looks reasonable. Points to watch:
      1) Manonne - as your only GK this is very risky (both b/c he is not nailed on, and Sunderland are pants defensively)
      2) Fernando - A DM who isn't going to be a great fantasy prospect (imo). I'd look for a switch.
      3) Shaw - I'd be more inclined to go for Evans/jones and save yourself the .5, just because of LvG's comments on his fitness.

Other observations would be that I'm not convinced by the zabaleta pick. Still hasn't played since the WC, and I'm not so sure about the City defense for their opening fixtures.

      Hope that helped!

Yep, it's balance all right! Just lacking a 10.0+ midfielder, but you can't have everything.

Vert to Ward, Moore to a 4.5, krul to bego imo. But solid team, 8.5/10

I'd feel way more comfortable starting Vert every week than Ward tbh, the two 4.0s are just injury back up really.

Ok guys, would really appreciate some opinions on this team.

    Begovic
Caulker - Manquillo - Filipe Luis
    Eriksen - Sterling - Mata - Fábregas - Ramsey
    Dzeko - Rooney

    (Zamora - Wisdom - Upson)

    Thanks!

Way too many question marks in defense, Caulker the only one nailed.

Agree it is a bit risky but Manquillo played awesome last night and looks like he is going to tie down that spot.

        Any suggestions?

        Thoughts on the rest?

Erik to Siggy, luis to terry, upson to chester. wisdom to hutton/moore. Use that extra mil on more defense or zamora to bojan

So many changes means it is probably your team haha. But I guess that is what happens on here.

Like Siggy but Erikson at 8 million for his points per minute can't be ignored.

Just brought in Hutton for Upson.

Trying to get it more balanced, thanks for your advice!

Quick RMT please. This is my final team now & i'm not making anymore changes. I don't think i can improve it anymore.

    Mannone / (Krul)

    Wisdom / Lovren / Debuchy / (Ward) / (Vlaar)

    Ramsey [v] / Hazard / Mata / Sigurdsson / (Wanyama)

    Rooney [c] / Dzeko / Lukaku

    Thank you 🙂

Mannone may not start, I prefer bego and a 4.0. Don't understand the Lovren love 😉 I'd upgrade him to terry and downgrade debuchy to Chester. Front 8 looks great

I would play Ward instead of Wisdom.

Lovren looks a great option, will strengthen pools defence and has scoring potential. 5.5 is great value I think and I am considering him.

      8.5/10 Good team!

Very dodgy defence, with Chambers and Davies not guaranteed gametime, better to get players who will be guaranteed to start...other than that, your forward line could reward you well

I agree on davies. I might get someone else for him, who do you think the best 5 mil defender is? I intend to keep chambers for two weeks until mert gets back and after that i will trade him for a nailed on 4.5 defender. After two weeks we will be able to see wether cameron and mariappa start and after that a straight swap should do it.

Its hard to call because there is so many doubts about every clubs starting defenders at the moment and we won't know until we see for ourselves how teams will line up! It depends on what teams you fancy to keep clean sheets yourself. Personally I wen't with Janmaat of Newcastle for 5.0 because i can see both him and the team doing well with the team they have. But then again if you fancy QPR theres Caulker, Hull have Davies, Swansea have Williams etc....Also Flanagan could be a bargain if he keeps his place in the squad but its too soon to know at the moment how Rodgers will play it! Hope I helped 🙂

Manquillo could struggle to get into the team with Flanagan, Kelly, Enrique, Moreno if he arrives, and Johnson if he doesn't leave. I'd rather wait see how they play the first couple of weeks before looking at liverpool full-backs! Midfield is strong but maybe downgrade fabregas to oscar, and swith manquillo for Lovren? That's what I'd do anyway 🙂

      Partly agree, may get rotated.

Johnson has been rubbish and is on his last chance. Kelly is well down the pecking order. So it is between Flanagan and Enrique.

I think they will line up Manquillo - Lovren - Skrtel - Enrique

This will change if they get Moreno.

If they do I will bring him or Lovren in.

I cant see Manquillo being in the line-up at the very start of the season.. I reckon Johnson or Flanagan will get the nod ahead of him for the first few games at the very least!

    So bear with me...

    Bego Gilks

    Ward Bavies Chambers Chester Wisdom

    Hazard Mata Rambo Lamela Siggy

    Roonpig Dzeko Welbeck

So obviously I don't plan on having Welbeck long term. But he's a much better option than Siggy for GW1 and he should give me a week or two to have a look at guys like Remy, Diouf, Wickham etc. and hopefully catch a bandwagon early on.

    Thoughts?

Yes. At least until GW6.. Mutd's fixtures will be just like low-hanging fruits and cleansheet change is better.

However lookin at Lovren's play last night.. aww its so tempting to put himn my squad.
