The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

      Your defence should probably aim to be more balanced. Sterling and Henderson in the same team is not a good match. I'd re-think Giroud, not 100% sure he is going to start.
      Other than that it is a good team

      I would stay away from chelsea full- backs for the moment unless you are 100% sure you know who will start.
      Giroud is not gauranteed a start.
      Nice midfield.

      id upgrade jutkiewicz! no experience at this level and in a team that will struggle. maybe downgrade shaw as you have two other big defenders and sacrifice a mid for a hendorson/siggy/arnie/ maybe even schurrle over fabregas if he gets minutes to get your forward up to a girould or jovetic/ dzeko

    Davis and Brady to rotate. I've had to drop Siggy to make this work, I'm worried if he's not playing in the hole he'll dump his value, they played him wide yesterday. Also I like having the 0.5 to get me out of any trouble after GW1/2

      Imo your MIDs are to weak downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey then either spend the money on Brady or Davis or your defence (debuchy)

    Going for Fletcher for a few weeks as he will be leading the midfield unless Man Utd signs a new Def Mid until next week. No real cover for Attack though. If anyone can suggest alternatives.

        I'm playing the formation 3-5-2.

        Would have selected Sigurdsson if he was not playing Man Utd the 1st week.

        Fletcher had a quite good Pre-season so i think he will start the season. Otherwise, do suggest me other alternatives to Fletcher.

    Everyone seems to have Bojan as third striker, but I really belive Riviére will be someone to look out for.. Especially after City game as Newcastle seems to have some decent games after that.

      be wary of rotating attackers. in my experience, its hard to do.... easy to miss big points hauls! mutch was a sickener for it last year! i like a regular playing front seven with a a switch to 4-3-3 to cover injuries early before picking up on the best cheapie atackers as they become apparent

      The double Chelsea is midfield is not a good idea. You should drop Fab for lamela, eriksen or sterling.
      Your defence seems quite weak
      Other than that a nice team

    Fairly solid I think. Ward playing most games so Chambers can be swapped out in a week or two after a rise hopefully. 7 Goals and 6 assists for Mutch last season, worth a punt

      Very similar to mine bar I've gone with Mutch over Bojan as 5.5 regular. Careful with your defence. Double stoke and i think Dummett won't play

    What option do you guys prefer?

    A) Vertongen + 5.0 Striker (Bench)

    B) Lovern + Bojan (Bench)

    I still don't know why everyone loves bojan. If he didn't shine in the Spanish/Dutch leagues then what makes everyone think he will shine in the ENGLISH league? Im leaning towards A tbh but I wanna hear what you guys think 😛
