With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Begovic – (Gilks)
Azpilicueta – Evans – van Aanholt – (Wisdom – Bartley)
Mata – Fabregas – Ramsey – Sterling – Sigurdsson
Rooney – Costa – (Zamora)

Roscola admits his team has a major flaw in that it is potentially benchless. He says though that he’s happy for QPR striker Bobby Zamora never to play, because this is a 3-5-2 that reverts to four at the back for first sub. He believes that there are more points available in the budget bracket in defence than further upfield. Sticking with this basic strategy he is looking for advice to find extra funds to invest in his bench. Downgrading Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City’s Samir Nasri is one option he is considering.

My general thoughts/reasoning-
-Chambers short term, will move to a QPR/Stoke/West ham 4.5 who nails a spot
-Baird and Hutton. Hope they start, v cheap and rotate perfect.
-Sterling could be Eriksson?

Any thoughts or criticism welcome

    Chambers is class but he will only play the first game or so until mertesacker comes back (but will have to wait on Koscielny's injury cos he may play more, so could work out).
    
    I would change Sterling to Eriksen as Liverpool have a tough start but Spurs don't, can always swap back later!

  - Downgrade Davis to Marney/Isgrove. Use the 0.5 to upgrade Hutton/Baird
  - Personally I think Eriksen will score higher than Sterling in the first few weeks. Maybe start with Eriksen due to Pool's tough start. Then u get 0.5 to upgrade Hutton/Baird to Chester for example.
  - I wouldn't have Chambers. Downgrade Sterling+Davis and upgrade Chambers to Clyne/Pieters for example.
  
  Verdict:
  - Keepers = solid
  - Defence = should have a maximum of two 4.0's. Upgrade Baird/Hutton IMO
  - Mid = great
  - Forwards = great

  Very solid team. I'd do the following fine tuning:
  Since Mariappa is not nailed on, I would get Wisdom for 4 who is nailed on for now at least
  Upgrade Eriksen to Sterling since you have no Liverpool cover and they score a lot
  Switch Snodgrass with Sigurdsson (personal preference)

F Luis - van Aanholt/M Williamson (rot h/a) - Wisdom/Vlaar (rot h/a)

Ramsey - Siggy - Mata - Fabregas - Eriksen

Rooney - Costa ( - Zamora)

My strategy is to:

- rotate two GKs and four DEFs so I'll end up playing far moore home games than away (Wisdom can play anywhere at the back at Brom, but won't be a sure starter, I know).

- I don't really care about Bobby Z, he's my third sub and won't be called in to action (fingers crossed).

- I'm seeing Williamson as a starter for Newcastle, isn't he? Who would you choose from the DEFs at Newcastle (max 4.5)?

Any comments are welcome and appreciated 🙂

  Personally I go for defenders that will have a chance for an assist or scoring... I don't see Coloccini doing so. Give Janmaat a chance... definitely cannot ignore Caulker. A lot of focus on strikersm I like Dzeko but too much rotation at City, specially when you throw Jovetic's good pre season form. If you a re going heavy on striker... make them count with sure starters. Rooney and Costa are money.

    I am not changing De Gea. I want that United coverage at the back for easy clean sheets and then I will swap him for Lloris after about 8 GW's.
    Basically, unless both Cameron and Mariappa are nailed on starters, I have to downgrade a midfielder and it won't be Mata.

      Then it's a 4.0 keeper, then downgrade whatever defender you were gonna rest, until you see how Cameron / Mariappa pans out (GW2)

        What do you think about Chambers as an option for 1 week. Wenger has said that Merte will not play so it seems like Chambers must start in GW1. Assuming I am swapping him out for either Mariappa or Ward depending on who is playing, it can't hurt to have him for 1 week and he should get a clean sheet.

  When you look at what he was able to accomplish at spurs with so little play time and what he was able to do at Swansea prior to that... having now Bony and Gomis up top... his value will only go up.

    Having those 2 will drop his value. If it is just 1 striker then he is a great buy as he will play "in the hole" and will be key to all attacks but in a 4-4-2 they just stick him out wide and he will be much less effective.

    Sure, I think Chester will probably start. Although rotation with hull does worry me with the Europa League. It's between him and Cameron for me - and personally I think Chester is more of a dead cert for GW1

  Green as the lone keeper worries me, can you not free up 0.5 for a rotation option? Gamboa too, his role seems undefined for the first GW at least, the same with Pieters - even his LB slot isn't 100% secure. All Stoke backline bar Begovic and ShawX worries me a little!

have changed up for the 12th time (!) and gone for coverage of the top 5...thoughts? will i regret no Costa, RVP, Sturridge?

Think it should give me some flex to downgrade to bandwagons if any of the top 5 make a bad start...looking at lukaku too but not sure who for.
