With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Krul (Foster)
Shaw – Lovren – Cameron (Davies, N Taylor)
De Jong – Lamela – Mata – Sterling (Sigurdsson)
Rooney – Costa – Austin

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Do you think fabregas essential? How well do you think he'll do in comparison to sterling?

My definition of "essential" would be a player that's scoring so high you are severely handicapped by not having him, and no other player at his position is performing near the level your "essential" player is. Don't know that Fabregas will be that far above other 9.0M mids like Ramsey, Mata, et al to be considered essential.

With that said he's in my team and I think he'll be a valuable fantasy asset!

Personally I'd go Fab. Chelsea have some plumb fixtures up front, and I think Cesc is a simply a better player. Though there is a chance Fabregas could be playing less of an attacking role according to some on here. Kind of a crap shoot.

How does this sound? I originally had Begovic Cahill, fabregas and Costa. By switching Begovic for courtouis I am able to get sterling in my team aswell as 3 chelsea players. What do you think?

Here we go lads, I'm really feeling this team.

    Bego (Hamer)
Cahill - Hutton - Caulker (Chester) (Moore)
Fab - Ramsey - Mata - Siggy (Marney)
    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko

Running with Dzeko for the first few to suss things up forward out, still think he will be more profitable than Jovetic. Really wanted to hold Sterling as I can see him going bang, but you can't go passed those big three in the midfield. Therefore opted for Siggy over him, as I really didn't like the look of Bojan in my starting 11 (hence now Dzeko). Love the look of Hull's opening gameweeks, so I've chosen to go Hutton/Chester/Moore for that final defence spot.

    Any thoughts?

Tinker Tinker little star... how I wonder what you are doing with a hutton!

Like the front though I've gone fabs over Sterling. Dzeko (correct me if wrong) hasn't looked that great in preseason but we all know that's not always an indication of how they will do when it counts. You'll have to watch United's transfer business as I could see Jones getting replaced with a few new recruits in the back before the transfer market closes. Overall good team

    Begovic (Gilks)
P Jones Ward Caulker (Moore Wisdom)
    Mata Ramsey Tadic Nasri (Siggy)
    Rooney Costa Austin

Still have 0.5 in the bank. Grabbed Jones over Evans due to injury. Not sold on Caulker, but he could come good. I'm waiting on Chelsea defense to see who's nailed on. Grabbed Tadic due to good fixtures early on.

What's the latest craic on Speroni and whether he has any thing to worry about from Hennessy? Any new speculation that's worth discussing?

Also, what's the scoop on Julio Cesar? Thought I read he was recalled from loan by QPR but he's not listed in the fantasy game. Am I totally out of touch and missing something? If he's back with QPR, could/will he start over Green?

Until JRod returns, I think he will get some starts. Risky though.

I'd prefer someone like him than someone who just gets 1-3pts every match. He actually has good goal/assist potential when he plays.

Koeman has praised him and his style suits a 433, which SOT are expected to line up with.

Koeman has said good things about him and he's played all of preseason and stayed last week against Leverkusen in what's supposed to be Southampton's biggest friendly. Glad to know I'm not crazy. I think he will have competition from Ramie a or Raider though.

Chambers won't be a starter for very long but if you're happy to change him out after 1 or 2 weeks that could work out okay for you. Jovetic is also a rotation risk once Aguero comes back.

This man be a bad thing but we have pretty much identical back lines and font lines, so therefore its a very good team on paper.... no issues here.

I prefer Ramsey and a decent 6.5 mid to Eriksen and Shurrle but you have obviously considered this and punted on Schurrle. Just be prepared for him not to play all matches in that highly competitive Chelsea midfield.

The 2.5 might be better invested in turning Schurrle into Ramsey?

Any suggestions on a 6.0/6.5m forward? Ings / Fletcher / Austin?

Diouf will be much better than Bojan because he plays as a main striker.

    RMT: 1m left

    DDG (Gilks)
Vlaar, Clyne, Van Aanholt (Coloccini, Moore)
    Fab, Mata, Ramsey, Silva (Wanyama)
    Costa, Roo, Bojan

No liverpool cover, feel like there is a need to have Sturridge?

Looks good, defence is a bit suspect IMO but could work out well. Yeah if it were me I'd change Silva to Sterling and then work on the defence, but you could also upgrade Costa to Sturridge with the extra 1m.

Thanks Joe, but if i were to change Silva out for Sterling and Sturridge for Costa, i wont have any Man City cover haha.

Oh I wouldn't do both changes, I don't think Liverpool will be as good as last year. If you reckon Silva will do well then go for it, but I don't think you necessarily need a City attacking player just yet - maybe wait and see who catches fire and is fixture-proof.

Yeah I would upgrade Vlaar and/or Coloccini to Debuchy or (if you can afford it) a Chelsea defender. You could do Costa ---> Dzeko and that would give you the required funds.

Defence is horrible. Use 1m to upgrade it
The rest is fine although I wouldn't want to play Bojan or Wanyama every week.

          Krul/Foster in goal.
Use extra money to try and bring in a Chelsea defender and/or a United defender. Don't like Clyne or Vlaar particularly and would want defenders from Palace, Hull, or Stoke.

      Good keepers.
      Champion -> Duff
Barnes isn't going to play. Jutkiewicz is the cheapest starting forward at 5m. Might want to find 0.5m in defence to upgrade to do so.

too heavy in defence for me - Debuchy out for a 4.5 and use funds to invest in mids, perhaps Eriksen > Ramsey

I disagree. Usually I settle for a threadbare defense, only to have my midfielders let me down. Unless you have a 4.5 defender who will get clean sheets, I think I'll stick with my backline.

      Nice team.
Solid defence if they all start.
Front 8 is very good as well except for Isgrove who won't start now that they've signed Shane Long.
Maybe a bit of an over-reliance of United and Chelsea to bring home the goods but other that I can't fault it.

Prefer rotating keepers for that price.
If you're going with 3 big defenders then Yoshida (who isn't going to start for very long) should be replaced by a £4m defender. Duff is probably the safest option of them.
Front 8 is decent but I wouldn't want to play Austin or Marney every week.

Keepers OK. You get what you paid for etc.
Get rid of Kolarov. Tough fixtures and he's never certain to start. Prefer a United defender.
Sacrificing too much for the big front 3 because you'll have to play 2 of Siggy, Mutch and Marney every week which isn't good.

I prefer a united defender as well, only problem is the choice of united defenders! My rationale is to have Kolarov until shaw or another option becomes available

On the midfield situation, siggy and mutch could prove good value, while sturridge can easily outscore 2 mid-priced options when captained

But you aren't going to captain him often enough in the first 6 weeks that he will prove good value. I'd wait a few months before putting him in.

Trippier -> 5.5m (Pick a nailed on starter from one of the big teams and you won't go too wrong)

          Phil Jones.
If you decide to go for a 3rd 5.5m have two 4m defenders as back up because you're never likely to play them.
