With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Green Windmill.

Foster
Terry, Evans, Pieters
Mata, Ramsey, Hazard, Sigurdsson
Rooney, Dzeko, Austin
Subs: Krul, Davis, Ward, Bartley

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Pieters is a worry in terms of game time. A Sunderland defender for the same price may be better. They looked more nailed on.

Also after last night you need an Evans exit plan. Two best options...straight swap with Jones or avoid their sick and infirmed defenders altogether and use that shiny 1m to get DDG in.

Cheers, I've been on Austin almost all summer but I'm getting tempted to a premium option as I have a bit of cash sloshing around.

Dzeko + Adebayor or Costa + Austin?

I think Pieters will start, Huth may miss out for the first few games but it's hard to know.

Lack of Liverpool attacker may hurt.

I'm gambling on Liverpool's fixtures keeping their goals down to a minimum for the first few weeks after which I can reassess. You're right though, it could be a problem.

Pieters is a concern, it's looking increasingly like Shawcross is the only truly secure route into that defence and 5.5 for a Stoke defender is too rich for my blood. Those fixtures are lovely though, I'm having a hard job weighing up that risk.

I think Evans is out for me - I'm downgrading and leaving Terry as my only premium defender.

That's going to leave me with at least £2.0m in the bank which is almost enough to change Austin to Adebayor. Hmm...

That did cross my mind - if I were to get Begovic I'd play him every week though as 9.0 is my ceiling for goalkeepers, can't decide if that's a good option or not. Definitely worth a ponder though - cheers.

I've given up,brought begovic, will play him every week with those fixtures.

I'm onto cahill and p.jones and will rotate wisdom, bartley and duff (SWA,WBA,BUR rotation)

Nice, I'm starting to lose faith in the West Brom defence though - I crunched some numbers yesterday and their clean sheets are a nightmare to predict.

The more I look at it the more I like Begovic/4.0 though...

Austin and Davis rotate nicely, but if you go for a bigger third striker, you don't really need that money on the bench as much. So, perhaps, Evans > 4.5m defender, Davis > 4.5m midfielder, and then Costa > Adebayor.

    Foster, (Krul)
    Luis, Jones, Chambers (Wisdom, Bartley)
    Mata, Rambo, Sterling, Eriksen (Sidgy)
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

      GK's 8-9/10 [i've picked the same]

Defence - 6/10 - Luis / Jones / Chambers / Wisdom and Bartley are all good picks for their price, but all carry risk. Jones maybe the most nailed on ehre, but when Utd sign CB's his time may come under threat.

Mid: 9/10 - heavy hitting and looks solid. Arsenal and Lpool have tough fixtures but are both capable of beating anyone on their day

Attack - 9/10 - Costa and Rooney solid picks, Bojan might cause you some headaches

      7.5

You need to drop some cash in the midfield and work on your defense. Jones the most guaranteed, and now with the Utd defense weakened significantly by injury, he's not a great option anymore.

Repost on the new RMT Article:

I'm pretty happy with this, Pelle is a bit of a punt. The only other thought was possibly downgrading Caulker to a 4.5 and upgrading Erikson to Sterling. Not sure if that is really an upgrade though.

    DDG,
    Terry, Debuchy, Caulker
    Mata, Ramsey, Erikson, Siggy
    Ronney, Costa, Pelle

    Krul, Wisdom, Moore, Marney

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

      GK - 0.5/1
      Def - 2/3
      Mid - 3/3
      Fwd - 2.5/3

      Total 8/10

Good team. Too much spent on GK's IMO. Pelle is a risk, but it could also be a decent reward

I like the Pelle punt. I would keep Eriksen (not convinced by Sterling yet). Not crazy about two 4s in defense, but Moore seems nailed at least so that's fine.

Given Utd's fixtures I'd say that Jones is the better bet. Think i'm going to wait until Friday, see if LVG says anything at the pre-game conference, then settle on one of the two. Debuchy is good but fixtures are horrible. If I was going Arsenal it would be more for a short term punt on Chambers.

More of a sanity check than anything. One of these is my current team the other three are variations...A, B, C or D???? I'll happily rate anything i'm asked

    A] Courtois [Gilks]
    Jones /Ward / Caulker/ Chambers / Wisdom
    Hazard / Mata / Eriksen / Sigurdsson / 4.5m
    Rooney / Costa / Pelle

    B] Courtois [Gilks]
    Jones / Debuchy / Ward / Caulker/ Wisdom
    Hazard / Mata / Eriksen / Sigurdsson / 4.5m
    Rooney / Costa / Austin

    C] Foster / Krul
Terry / Evans or Jones [if Evans is injured] / Ward & Caulker rotating / Wisdom
    Hazard / Mata / Eriksen / Sigurdsson / 4.5
    Rooney / Giroud / Dzeko

    D] Foster / Krul
Terry / Evans or Jones [if Evans is injured] / Ward & Caulker rotating / Wisdom
    Hazard / Mata / Eriksen / Sigurdsson / 4.5
    Rooney / Costa / 6.5 or less

    Hi all,
RMT- new to the site and struggling to decide. Have this at the mo:

    Bego (Gillks)

    Chambers. Cahill. PVA. (Rosenior, Wisdom)

    Young Ramsey. Sterling. Silva. (Eriksen)

    Bojan. Costa. Rooney

    - 0.5 in the bank, planning wisdom to kelly if he comes on at 4.5
    - worried about no haz/fab..could downgrade sterling to henderson and upgrade eriksen, but think spurs will have a decent season
    - who to bench this gw- Bojan or eriksen? Surely if Bojan is to score it would be against Villa, they are so poor

    Any thoughts appreciated!

      GK - 1/1
      Def - 2/3
      Mid - 2.5/3
      Fwd - 2/3
      7.5/10.

MID : Still not sure Young is worth the hype but this is just my personal opinion. If he does start and gets his crosses in, could justify his selection.
FWD : Bojan will need to be monitored to convince me to invest in him. I'll be more comfortable shaving some money from defence (Fonte & maybe Lovren) to upgrade him to Austin (QPR).

I quite like the look of your team. I'd say bank the 1.0M (pray it earns interest somehow).

But seriously, if you want to spend it, I'd upgrade your United defender to a CHE defender---only thing is that comes with its own headache trying to determine who is immune from rotation the first couple of gameweeks.

Wow, great midfield and 2 of the main men up front too. Obviously your defence is weak but the points are in attack.

Darren Bent is an interesting pick, he is possibly going to be Villa's front man for the first few games unless he's sold, since Benteke and Kozak are likely out until next month. Could be worth a punt for a cheap third forward before shipping out

Hi all, this is my current team. Debating whether to drop Sánchez for Ramsey and Caulker & Ward to 4.5s (Rio and Martin Kelly maybe) to allow me upgrade Austin to Giroud, what do people think? Cheers.

I think... I'd go for that switch. Austin could do well, but I get claustrophobic having someone in that price range as my weekly starting striker. QPR do not have a record of scoring goals and they'll be up against PL defenses.

Thanks Dogba, I missed Sunday's game but just saw goal & assist for Ramsey and Alexis only playing one half so started to get worried. Although Giroud didn't start either so who know if he is a wise pick 😕

I've currently got Jovetic. There are doubts hanging over all those picks, Jovetic at least is 100% match fit and will start GW1. Take it from there. Leaving 0.5M in the bank.

I guess I could downgrade Sánchez for Ramsey, find another 0.5 somewhere and upgrade Dzeko to Costa. Decisions decisions!

Yeah it's tough! Sanchez is a classic goal scoring midfielder, could take off from the get-go and he's priced really high as it is.

I guess it comes down to, who do we fear most out of Sanchez and Costa? For me fixtures sway it to Costa.

I think Hazard is a good pick, got 80 minutes last night and no game until Monday. I'm confident he'll be ready and have another season at ~200 points. Hopefully pens as well.

We have the same midfield 4. I keep going back to Siggy for my 4th, seem safe in a way.

I currently have Jones at 5.5M, but I'm considering just downgrading and spending the extra cash elsewhere.

      Cheers Dogba

I think given the Evans news I'm downgrading him and beefing up my attack a little. I might find the extra cash and convert Austin to Adebayor - I always like him as a fantasy option.

Just noticed your current front 7 is same as mine bar Alexis for me and Ramsey for you. Will Adebayor start? Interesting option and was good source of points at tail end of last year, hadn't considered him at all

I had Sanchez in most of my drafts but dropped him to get a Chelsea defender. I'm hoping Ramsey more or less keeps pace until I can find the cash for Sanchez.

Adebayor is a gamble and I'm a bit wary but he does look nice in my team 🙂

Agh, that's a tough one. I'd err on the side of caution with Ade, as I understand it his fitness is not 200%. I'd probably go for the latter.

The second option is definitely the safe choice with two nailed on players. The first choice is just that little bit more hipster though. You're probably giving me the right advice - cheers 🙂

Would love opinions on the below:

    DDG (Murphy)

    Pieters - O'Shea - Terry (Moore & Coloccini)

Ramsey - Sterling - Mata - Lamela (Albrighton)

    Rooney (C) - Costa - Austin

Not sure about Pieters, I think he will start the first few weeks anyway but will swap with Huth it not starting, Terry plays every week and O'Shea and Colo rotate.

I like Lamela as a differential but have no problem swapping with Eriksson if not performing. Siggy is another option but he seems to be playing as a winger in pre season so not as apealling to me.

I think Costa will be excellent although still debating Fab & Sturridge instead of Costa & Sterling!

looking good, Pieters a slight rotation worry. Also Albrighton is likely to be injured for the first game, go with another 4.5 mill midfielder, Marney or Wanyama seem to be popular, guaranteed starter picks.

    Cahill Debuchy PvA

    Sanchez Eriksen Siggi Mata

    Nugent Rooney Costa

    Subs: Guzan Davis Moore Clyne

Whilst you may be asking (Green Windmill) for bench improvements, I'd be just as inclined to take money away. I'd suggest turning pieters (not 100% nailed on himself) and Ward into 2 x 4.5 rotating players, which gives you another useful million to spend elsewhere.

I envy your restraint at keeping 1 mil in the bank! Very good strategy I think. Overall the team looks nice - well balanced - good luck!

Plan was always to have Sanchez and Rambo as a double up despite the fixtures. My rationale was that Rambo is a must for my team and if I don't have Sanchez he will be too difficult to bring in at a later date (anytime after GW1) because of price and would require transfer hits or an early WC.

A.) Do I stick with my guns on
      Sanchez-Rambo-mata-Siggy-isgrove

      Or

B.) Fab-Rambo-mata-Siggy-isgrove (& just leave the £1.5m banked incase I want to make the change)

C.) fab-Rambo-mata-Siggy-young (start with a 5 man mid and if needs be save my FT for GW2 and make a change in GW3 if I need to)
