The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

    Planning to line up 3-4-3 with the occasional rotation depending on fixtures.

      7/10

      I find it's wasted money to have 2 keepers and rotate early on in the season as the money can be spent elsewhere. If you are going for Foster just go for Myhill, if Begovic I'd say Myhill anyway, unless Begovic gets injured.

      Cameron isn't nailed on so could transfer him out for another 4.5 despite his fixtures looking good.

      Not a fan of Nugent at this level.

      Overall good.

      Wouldn't go Lovren as pool are leaky at the back. I don't know how much he is, 5.5 i guess, maybe find 0,5 to get Luis? Like PVA.

      Midfield is v. strong, perhaps too strong.

      Forwards good except Nugent but no-one is for that price.

      similar to my team so therefore you're completely screwed 🙂
      i'd get another attacking utd, and lose jones. not sure about davies (spurs davies). if hull davies, i'd get cheaper hull defender.

      Solid team, pretty standard but 9/10.

      I'd downgrade Caulker to 4.5 and upgrade Luis to Cahill/Terry. Least you're sure of starts.

      Personally don't like Bojan, but that''s your choice, other than that looks good. Make sure to swap out Evans, wouldn't want an injury doubt from the get go.

    I'm trying to fit Diego Costa into my team, since I think he's more liekly to get the points than Dzeko who I currently have. At the moment I've got this but need to find 0.5 from somewhere

    I like the look of that team tbh, defence is a bit shaky, could make it a lot better with the 1.5 extra from Dzeko, but it's better spent with Costa I reckon. Thoughts?

      Agree with Costa over Dzeko, Dzeko is too much of a rotation risk for me. Maybe downgrade Ward to Coloccini or if you want Palace wait till Martin Kelly is added although hard to know if he will go straight into there team.

    Thinking of this switch:

    Mainly because of United has a few early matches against teams they should be better than.

      Not sure on Barkley. Everton have a tough start. Davis may be rotated - Spurs backline is all up in the air. Not sure on Lovren - Liverpool defense could be leaky. Think there are better 9mil options than Stevie as well particularly now he's playing more of a holding position - any of Ramsey, Mata, Fabregas, Sterling, Eriksen would be better options I think

      Chambers is obviously only good for a short period imo. Austin i'm not sold on, believe Bojan/Campbell/Nugent are better options.
      Not sold on Sterling either, but that seems to be just me!! I'd rather have Eriksen/Lamela/Coutinho/Nasri, Nasri or Eriksen looking at your team!

        A short period is all I need him for. He'll play for a week or two and hopefully rise in price. The other 4 are all nailed on so I'm covered.

        Austin is an absolute goal machine and I prefer him to those you've mentioned, just personal choice.

        Sterling is where I'm not sure either - I've basically gone for him on the basis I'm not sure about him! Every year I always start off with zero Liverpool players due to my general hatred of them, and always pay the price for it.

      On your backline. Luis, Huth and Bruce could all be rotation risks.

      Luis to Terry or Cahill.
      Bruce to Chester or another 4.5.
      Would go Begovic and Ward over Speroni and Huth for Stoke and Palace cover

      Not sure about Bruce tbh. Might go down in value if he doesnt start (20% ownership!)
      Siggy and Isgrove (even tho I like that choice) does not rotate, ur playing which of them in GW1?
      Huth needs to go ye, might not start. Both A&B looks good to me.

        At the moment I've done Huth-> Shawcross, Luis-> Cahill, Bruce-> Chester.
        So now have 0m left!
        Sigurdsson & Bojan are rotating, and I think I may play 4 at the back for a short while, I'm not too sure yet!! Might swap Bruce to Moore at LEI, and rotate him and Isgrove on the games, in which they're needed!

      Looks decent. 8/10. I'm not convinced on playing Austin every week but that's just me.

      Is Gilks likely to see playing time?
      I had Cahill a long time and have just switched to Terry.

      Austin is a decent punt but at the start of the season its a risk to have to try upgrade.

      Good team, but being a honest Stoke fan we leak goals on the road so maybe its best rotating two 4.5 keepers.

      Not sure about 9.5 on keepers and I would upgrade Zamora probably at the expense of Young .other wise good team.

        for 2-3 gw i'll play only with 2 strikers just to see bandwagons,i think u right with 9.5 keeper ,but where to put 0.5 ?
