With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Green Windmill.

Foster
Terry, Evans, Pieters
Mata, Ramsey, Hazard, Sigurdsson
Rooney, Dzeko, Austin
Subs: Krul, Davis, Ward, Bartley

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

I have a few options I'm toying with and I really can't decide:

    A:
    Krul / Foster

    Chambers / Cameron / Jones / Moore / Wisdom

    Siggy / Sterling / Mata / Eriksen / Wanyama

    Costa / Rooney / Sturridge

    B:
    Krul / Foster

    Luis / Jones / Chambers / Wisdom / Moore

    Ramsey / Sterling / Mata / Eriksen / Siggy

    Rooney / Costa / Bojan

    C:

    Krul / Foster

    Chambers / Cameron / Jones / Moore / Wisdom

    Schurrle / Sterling / Mata / Eriksen / Ramsey

    Costa / Rooney / Bojan

    D:
    Krul / Foster

Chambers / van Aanholt / Duff / Moore / Wisdom

    Siggy / Sterling / Young / Eriksen / Ramsey

    Costa / Rooney / Sturridge

D is really taking a punt on Young to fit in Sturridge (not to mention a really weak defense). The problem with this is having 3 superstar strikers, a 5th midfielder becomes irrelevant because I have to play all 3 every time. B is my really balanced build that I really like. What do y'all think?

I have come to realise over the last 48 hours that Costa Rooney Sturridge just won't work. Yes, you will get maybe 20-30 points from them each week (assuming one is captain), but you won't be able to build a balanced team that earns you points on each line. Sterling is the better Liverpool cover IMO, great value at 8.5.

Personally I like D the best. But, I have always been a fan of punting on the defense. With Shaw hurt Young could work out well for you. B would be my second choice, better midfield.

I would go B. A strong midfield will ultimately get you more points. Great strikers would have to perform every week in order to get the return for those 3 top priced strikers.

Thanks for the input folks; but judging from preseason form, hasn't Young technically outperformed Mata?

See below. Schurrle to Young in team C gives you 2m to upgrade defense and Bojan

I dont think so. Young had one great game with 2 goals but Mata has also scored preseason. I think Mata will d more overall. Although young has potential to do damage, Mata is just a more well balanced and intelligent player imo.

      I think C-
      C:

      Krul / Foster

      Chambers / Cameron / Jones / Moore / Wisdom

      Schurrle / Sterling / Mata / Eriksen / Ramsey

      Costa / Rooney / Bojan

its almost there. Schurrle to 5.0, Bojan to Austin and with whats left upgrade defence

Not a bad suggestion here as well from SAB. i really dont know why everyone is picking Bojan. He only scored 4 in 24 appearances for Ajax. Thats terrible for a striker. Austin is in top form right now, BUT, he will may be battling for goals against his teammate Remy, which could take some away from him.....potentially. Weimann and Naismith also look good right now for cheaper strikers.

    Bego
    Ward, Terry, Rio
    Hazard, Sterling, Ramsey, Sig, Arnie
    Rooney, Costa

    Gilks, Hutton, Naylor, Fletcher.

Pretty set on this. Nicely balanced, and potential to switch between 3 4 3 and 3 5 2 if Fletcher starts firing. Will wild card reasonably early if any mid-priced strikers become essential, but none of them really excite me at the moment. Better budget mids (Sig, Arnie) than strikers this year IMO

This is just my opinion, but Krul/Foster may make for a better choice at goalkeeper. They rotate pretty well. You also have a lack of MU midfield/defensive coverage. They do have really good opening fixtures, you may wanna take a look at them.

That is a solid team. Of course people will think defense a little weak but great mid and forwards make up for it. Krul on his own is ok. Davies of TOT? Some think not 100% to start, maybe start will CP Ward and see?

Help with extra 0.5M! I cpuld just keep it, or upgrade the keeper, or upgrade Sterling to Ramsey (dont know if thats worth it), upgrade Naismith (dont know if that will help either), or i could swap Rooney/8.5+ midfielder and get Sanchez/Dzeko. Any ideas? Or upgrade defense from one of the 5.5 starters to a 6M. I like Azpil or Luis but they are fighting for the start so i dont yet which one will play. Or again, i just keep it for now. Any ideas?

Not sure about Lovren with opening fixtures? Definitely utilise Naismith instead of sig first gameweek though? He's nailed on for that striker position, great eye for goal and off the ball, will get a lot of service against Leicester

    1.5 left

    Begovic/4.0
    Jones/Kaboul/Mariappa(or Kelly or Williams)/Chester/Moore
    Ramsey/Mata/Lamela/Siggy/4.5
    Rooney/Costa/Dzeko

    Thoughts:

Do you guys think a Soton keeper is a better pick? And will Forster get the job?

Other players I want in midfield are Sterling or Coutinho but think I'll wait till their fixtures get better (even tho I know fixtures don't matter much for them)

Should I keep that 1.5 or spend it somewhere? It gives me a lot of flexibility given the large amount of options once the season starts

    Eriksen Siggy Hazard Ramsey Mata
    Costa Rooney (Zamora)

Should I sacrifice a MID to upgrade a few weaker players in defense.
But if I downgrade a MID, then I'll also need to upgrade Zamora at the same time.
My thoughts are a 6m MID may do better than than an similar Forward.

I'll probably WC early again this year to help with team value and grab those in form players.

Please can I have your thoughts?

Are you 3-5-2? If so then I think it's ok, tho you'll be benching Siggy GW1. If you're not then downgrade Siggy and put the $ into your defence. You'll never play him over those other guys and that's a lot of cash to have on the bench.

    Lovren Luis Davies wisdom Bruce
    Ramsey Siggy Henderson mata Brady

      Join the club.

I Like B, though there is a lot of debate over your keeper choices. The general thinking now is that 2 rolling 4.5s is the better option.
Re-think your Hull choices. I really don't know where all this Bruce love is coming from, he's not even nailed on. Also Brady may start GW1, but he's looking like he'll face way less game time this year with increased competition in the Hull mid-field.

    RMT please

    Begovic (Fabianski)
    Shawcross, Wisdom, Ferdinand (Chester, Ward)
    Hazard, Eriksen, Fabregas, Mata (Siggy)
    Rooney, Dzeko (fletcher)

Any suggestions to improve would mean a lot, thanks!

Some expensive choices in Fabianski and Shawcross, may I ask the thinking there? Surely better off with Lovren/Debuchy/Jones? Otherwise a solid team.
I wouldn't bench Chester over Wisdom GW1, get him out there.

I got Fabianski to rotate with Begovic weekly, and Shawcross looks to be the only nailed on stoke defender

Double Stoke then- I haven't seen it but could work for you with fixtures. I'm tempted to say downgrade or dump Fabianski, Stoke's fixtures could see you benching him more often than not.

Right, I think I finally have it (famous last words).

    Krul-Foster
    Terry-Lovren-Chester-VanA-Bartley
    Ramsey-Fab-Mata-Young-Marney
    Costa-Roonface-Jovetic

Young is my punt for early GWs with good fixtures for Utd. I dropped Siggy for him who I decided was too much $ to have on the bench GW1, though I may well bring him back in later.

I like this, read a few other comments on Young. For me having both Fab and Costa leaves you short of LIV but who knows!

Liverpool have a tough run of games unless you plan to keep lovren on the bench for 2 weeks straight (GW2,GW3) I'd switch him for a better choice. Also Jovetic is a bit of a risk with the city strikers rotating a lot. other than that looks solid.

Thanks a lot guys. Yea Young and Jovetic may be early transfers for me once aguero is back, but I'm a true believer in form so I'm ok with that. You've given me something to think about in Lovren, but I can always bring Debuchy back in.
        Cheers!
