With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Kicking off today’s RMT discussion is Evs.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

will change around Mata & Jones after 1st few weeks, as I think UTD will get a couple clean sheets & Mata will be involved with a few goals.
But not sure what to do with my mid, whether to downgrade Ramsey - Sterling maybe then upgrade one.
Aghh indecisive. :S

    I know but not sure where to downgrade defenders to, as will prob get alot of clean sheets between them. Should I downgrade Jones & Luis, then upgrade mids?

      Clean sheets will not come that easily. Eriksen, siggy will score you more points on their own than van aarnholt and jones. Utd will still concede. Their new 3-5-2 formation will just help them score more goals. Sunderlands fixtures are a bit iffy. 4-4-2 will not win you anything either. Not this early on.

      This is the 1st year i've done this, & going on my opinions, & also last years scoring, Mulumbu & Bacuna both scored over 100 and Mulumbu will start.
      So was thinking is it worth downgrading all my defender to have 2 slightly better mids?
      Excuse my ignorance, as I say this is my 1st time, and not sure on it all tbh! Just want to beat my mates and co-workers haha.
      So would something like this be better in your opinion?

    Sorry for my ignorance again, but would it not be better to have a 3.5 defender that won't play, because for the sake of an extra 1 or 1.5m they may only score you a few points, wheras adding that extra money on a mid could make more difference? Thanks for the opinions!

  I'm no pro I just give my own opinion which is prone to being just as fallible as anyone else's opinion.
  
  From my perspective I think you have a strong team. Moore and Wisdom are a bit iffy as you know but you can't get much better for 4m really. Rest of the team is very solid.

    Choose a less owned 4.0 def. wisdom will drop quickly without doubt. Im sure WBA will be awful this season. IMO big relegation fight for them.

      You might be right. Wisdom is a loanee though and a solid player who can also play CB. Gamboa can play on the wing too. Either way Wisdom will be nailed on in the early fixtures at least. I also highly doubt he will drop much early on, people aren't going to spend their first few free transfers bothering with bench fodder.

  Mids are looking decent, keep an eye on Albrighton however, might cause health issues.
  
  Now the defence, close examination needed here. Upon first inspection it looks healthy. Mostly all nailed on and not over priced. Sets you up to have a strong attack which you have.

  Sanchez - Expensive, Ramsey is proven in the PL and will save you 1.5m
  Wanyama - Offers you nothing, you can do better than this I think.
  Ferdinand - QPR player who offers no goal threat, doesn't look fun.
  Kelly - Probably won't start early on, might be worth monitoring with Pulis gone.
  
  I'm being a bit harsh with the above points but its important to be critical I think. Any weakness can be a problem down the track.

    The way I see it Ryan, it's a lot easier to swap Sanchez out for Ramsey if he flops rather then the opposite. And if Sanchez comes out firing, I'm already one up.
    
    Wanyama offers me 2-3 points whenever it is needed for him to cover. Can't expect more then that.
    
    Kelly was Ward only a few hours ago, but after what has developed I may as well take a similar risk and save 0.5m
    
    Not entirely happy with Ferdinand as a pick but i choose him over the likes of Naylor at the moment. Have a feeling qpr will be fairly tight at the back.

  Yeah the only thing with Bojan really is to replace him you probably need to spend at least 8m for someone like Jovetic. Might not be worth dismantling your team but if you wanted to go down that track I think there is a few options you could take.
  
  To get 3 solid forwards without losing much elsewhere
  
  Hazard -> Fabregas (1m saving)
  Mata -> Young (4.5m saving)
  Davis -> Snodgrass/Henderson (1m spent)
  Bojan -> Dzeko (3m spent)
  Caulker -> Terry/Cahill (1.5m spent)
  
  Consider Jovetic and Ivanovic instead as well

  You have nailed on defenders, this is good. However there are some in the sub 5m bracket but I suspect you have fancy a rotation thing going on. Solid enough I guess.
  
  Front 7 is great. I'm guessing your attacking sub won't be used at all, if you can afford it, Bent looks to be a starter early on and you might get some price rises out of him (I say this with a huge pinch of salt however).

      fair call if that's you feel may happen, no matter what happens this season sturridge will be right up there in terms of goals scored.

  The players are nailed on so thats got to be good. Personally I don't think Austin will do that well, I'd prefer to spend 2m more and get Jovetic.

    But im pretty sure jovetic will lose his place eventually. Also 2m is really alot of money to squeeze might rather squeeze 0.5 more to get giroud/dzeko and it cant be done without demoloshing the defence. Also Ausrin can always be swapped for another budget striker like Bojan or Fletcher I guess

      Fair counter argument although you could also argue that Jovetic can be downgraded as well. I'm not sure Hazard is necessary over Fabregas and Jones necessary over a 4.5 option.

        Yes but the point is that at the moment there is no nailed on striker for 8.0 or under that I would be comfortable playing every week but I think I can be comfortable playing 3 big defenders every week while rotating 4th defender and 3rd striker. I also considered Kolarov over Jones with city's fixtures and kolarov not being nailed is not worth it. Im planning to switch one of jobes and debuchy to mangala anyway once he nails down a place. I also just dont see how hazard isnt a much better player than cesc fantasy-wise.
        
        Anyway I really appreciate the input, ehat does your team look like ?

      For 4.5 you could get someone better than fodder, someone who will at least be a regular starter anyway and can off you rotation with PVA.
      
      Ade might be ok, I'd just worry about Soldado stealing time off him and the ever present threat of a new signing. Any of the other options you mentioned look good despite each of them having their own issues. Personally I've gone for Jovetic as I think he will hold his spot over Dzeko because he's the one in form.

A few weeks ago someone suggested making the FFS template team and seeing how it fared in the rankings. The captain would be the leader of the captain poll and the transfers will be dictated by thee bandwagons of the week. Does anyone disagree with this being the template? I'm not too sure on the defence.
