A new beginning. On the eve of a new campaign, two grumpy middle-aged has-beens gather in a studio to recall the summer’s feast of football and look ahead to another Fantasy season, full of hope.

There’s no frills. No live video cast. No special guests. Just Granville and I, stripped back and almost unplugged.

Don’t let that put you off, though. Even with our limited powers we at least attempt to cut through the issues currently rattling around in the minds of Fantasy managers.

We assess the Old Trafford revolution, the world without Suarez and the merits of the three-man strike force. We slice through the current transfer trends and weigh up matters such as the Sigurdsson/Bojan rotation, Fagregas vs Hazard and the Chelsea back four conundrum. We also manage to warm up with a nice little argument about the Alexis Sanchez bandwagon – the traditional pre-season barney.

        Alan Pardew. Nuff said.

        He's got previous with playing Anita out of position at full back, Colback filled in at left back for Sunderland before, I can see it happen. It'll be Haidara starting, but it's not out of the realms of possibility Colback'll get put there at some point.

    Has anyone ever watched Marney play? I have him in my team but have no idea what he even looks like. Little description would be nice, is he just a defensive tackling midfielder or does he bring it out a bit? do Burnley play him in a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2?

      You'll have a benching nightmare each week. Looks like you want to rotate Remy and Sigurdsson/Tadic but likely to leave loads of points on the bench. I'd consider downgrading one and upgrading Giroud.

    So I currently have:

    Mata and Rooney,
    Hazard and Costa, and
    Ramsey and Giroud.

    Is it worth changing Giroud to Dzeko for a bit of variety? It might be a bit much from those 3 teams as it stands, as indicated on the previous page.
