A new beginning. On the eve of a new campaign, two grumpy middle-aged has-beens gather in a studio to recall the summer’s feast of football and look ahead to another Fantasy season, full of hope.

There’s no frills. No live video cast. No special guests. Just Granville and I, stripped back and almost unplugged.

Don’t let that put you off, though. Even with our limited powers we at least attempt to cut through the issues currently rattling around in the minds of Fantasy managers.

We assess the Old Trafford revolution, the world without Suarez and the merits of the three-man strike force. We slice through the current transfer trends and weigh up matters such as the Sigurdsson/Bojan rotation, Fagregas vs Hazard and the Chelsea back four conundrum. We also manage to warm up with a nice little argument about the Alexis Sanchez bandwagon – the traditional pre-season barney.

Be there at the birth via this link, or witness the new dawn via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Okay, the hot topic of right now:

who the f* is Keith Millen? Can he possibly be any good?

It indeed is. It suffices, to me, to look at Palace's defensive record pre-Pulis to be put off.

On the other hand, that lot was able to keep all those clean sheets after Pulis took charge. Millen was there too. Sure some of that discipline must still be there?

True. The appeal never was just Pulis. It was tight defence + good fixtures.

Don't worry they can't pronounce Irish players either example Kinsella is pronounced "Kin-sell-ah" NOT "Kin-sella". Mcgrath is pronounced "Ma-graah" NOT "Mac-gra-at".
The worst one of all is Andy Keogh. Not "Keeee-oh" but it is pronounced "K-yoh" 🙂

I was thinking about keeping Huth (Or some other 5 mil Stoke defender) and upgrading Morre to Coloccini and downgrading Ward to Van Aanholt, but I am unsure of which Stoke defender to choose.

If we don't manage to get this one done there is something seriously wrong - the player is refusing to train and actually WANTS to play for Utd unlike almost every other target..

Actually, the Sporting manager told that neither Rojo nor Slimani has refused to train. It's the club that dropped them from the team for asking transfer or new contract, without asking the manager at all. Apparently the manager is not happy with this.

The way they treat Slimani, at least, is appalling. He is not asking for transfer, but for a new contract that matches his value and role better. They bought him for peanuts last summer and he is about their worst paid player. He is asking for 4 times as much as he gets now, while other clubs would be offering 7 times as much. The club is asking about 50 times as much as what they paid for him last summer. Disgusting. When it's transfer, they ask money as if he was a big time international, when it's contract, they pay as if he was a youth player.

How would you fit Hazard into this team ?
Who to get rid off and replace with who ?
Or should I just leave it the way it is?

    Bego, Given
    Cahill, Lovren, Debuchy, Hutton, Wisdom
    Rambo, Eriksen, Mata, Sterling, Isgrove
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    Help appreciated !!!

Also, Isgrove isn't gonna play now Long has gone there, so just swap him for a 4.5.

Quite smart really. He knew this was coming. Buy a load of shit players, train them poorly, spike the lucozade and slip out the side door. Good luck against Sanchez boys!
