I was planning on using CTC and just taking anyone about to rise. For players that I want anyway - should be cool. For players that I don't want longterm - would be hoping that they rise a second time so I can sell them and pocket .1m. Is that the best way to go about things? Any suggestions?Open Controls
That's the way to do it. Don't expect more than 1 or 2 double risers that you don't want, though.

You can bring in six or seven that you want and 2 weeks later your rivals will not be able to afford the same team. That's where the real bonus is. I have had varying degrees of success - you still need the team you pick to perform and that is obviously never guaranteed.

why would you want to downgrade dzeko? I picked jovetic over him and I'm regretting it. Dzeko is nailed on, a proven scorer and he's playing for a new contract (this one expires at the end of the season). He can easily score 15 goals this season.

The amount of people that are jumping the gun and taking hits after week one unless your team is horrific but fair enough you should at least start gw2 with the same team in gw1 I reckon especially when the goal scorers could be the opposite of the ones that scored this week and could potentially be the ones you are taking hits to get rid off.
