With Gameweek 1 concluded, it’s time to delve a little deeper into the data in our first “Big Numbers” article for members of the campaign. We analyse the display of Arsenal’s new wide man against Palace, the QPR front pairing at home to Hull, Liverpool’s ever-improving youngster, Southampton’s delivery under Ronald Koeman and United’s weekend scorer in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

In light of Giroud playing 90 mins tonight, is Giroud -> Bony for free a good transfer this gw?

Bony most likely to score with pretty easy fixture but Burnley is a hard working defensive team! Remy on the otherside is playing against Spurs, probably one of the best defensive teams in the league this year 🙂

hmmm, didn't want to take a hit but now am considering a -8. funny old game this..

    ...................Begovic
    ......Kolarov - Azpi - Chambers
    Fabregas - Yaya - Ramsey - Young
    ........Jelly - Rooney - Costa

    Gilks - Marney - Hutton - Baird

Yaya + Azpi + Young > Hazard + Rangel + Siggy too knee jerky? feels like it with Chelsea v Leicester this weekend

maybe I'll just do Yaya + Young > Mata/Silva + Siggy..but would feel scared to not have City even if it's Liverpool next..

Filipe Luis owners. What are you thinking of doing? Wait and see if he starts this weekend? He might make a 1 minute cameo and he price is going to drop like a stone. Surely Mou going with Azpi and Ivan shows they'll be his first choice for at least the first few weeks?

Cameo doubtful. Would be surprised if he didn't start. If not home to Leicester then when? Surely didn't buy their one dedicated LB just to sit on the bench.

What is the consensus on Man United's acquisition of Rojo? Personally I don't rate him. He played well as left back/left wingback for Argentina, but has struggled to maintain consistent form in previous seasons. I've watched him play as cb and haven't been convinced he any better than Jonew/Evans and don't get the logic in paying nearly £50m on two left backs?

I think that Azpilicueta is nailed. I think that the only reason he played LB against Burnley is because Luis wasn't ready and that when he is, Azpi will go to RB and Ivan/Terry/Cahill will fight for the CB spots.

Meh. Very happy I decided to go without a Chelsea defender and spread the money around a little bit more. It's all too uncertain there for me at the moment and while you may well be correct it's just an educated guess and nothing more. We really won't know who he prefers until UCL starts up in full swing.

Sterling would be a good pick up in a couple of weeks, looking at Liverpool's next fixtures.

Don't think Aguero, Costa or De Jong will be worth it with the big midfielders firing. Not too crazy about the defense either.

I don't know the numbers but I imagine taking a hit will cost between 50,000-100,000 places on OR. Just a thought.

Doesn't matter whatsoever as long as you reckon the hit will will help in the long run.

I calculated last time around and hits made me more than 50 points over the season

Obviously it's all very tight after one GW. By the end of the season a failed 4 points will mean far fewer dropped places

Now i'm thinking Eriksen to Sterling hmmm. What say?

Is Tadic ready to produce the fpl points?

West Brom at home is a very, very kind fixture for Southampton this week.

Looked to me like a player who will rely heavily on assists for FPL returns to me but would feel a lot more comfortable owning him if we knew he had penos in his locker which I guess is still up for debate. Wouldn't fault anyone bringing him in this week though as he has that great fixture as well as a kind run of fixtures in general and will likely free up money for your next move.

Trying to decide between Tadic and Eriksen for this week.

Eriksen is a proven player in the premier league, but I wasn't inspired by Spurs performance last weekend.

Yes, he does. He looks to be a high quality player, just don't want to fall into a trap eyeing up his nice run of fixtures.

Southampton won't be prolific this season in front of goal I reckon.

Sigh. I've been ranting and raving about keeping Mata over Sterling for the past couple of days, but as the clock counts down on the price changes I'm growing more and more tempted to do it tonight. I can always drop Ramsey if I want to get Mata back in for the stretch vs. promoted teams... right?

I think he will come good. He looked very clever to me in the box and I think he will just improve more and more week after week. He also looks like he will get a handful of goals on set pieces as he has JWP providing excellent service to him and he seemed to get into good positions in the Pool game.

Yeah I watched him very closely in the pool game. I was very impressed. Good at linking up the play and looked very capable at this level. Picked up a lot of nice positions and always looks to give the ball off quickly and get into the box. Reminded me of RvN a bit.

I have a midfield of Sanchez, Toure, Fabregas, Henderson and Sigurdsson. First three all should be nailed on for FKs and assists.

He had the season of his life last year, but sadly I don't think he'll quite reach that height this year. Believe me, he'll be solid, but maybe not worth £11.0m.
