Gently does it. Granville and I ease ourselves into the season with another thirty-minute bite-size podcast, gradually building up our fitness before we go full tilt next month.

Yes, it’s just the pair of us again, cuddling up in our intimate studio to discuss the events of Gameweek one, whilst casting one eye on the fixtures and events to come this weekend.

We get through the usual array of regulars, with Granville explaining how a wedding and a bout of childcare threatened to ruin his campaign, just as it gets out of the blocks. We reach out to all those Siggy benchers, whilst picking the bones out United’s limp corpse following their opening day defeat. We then chat Fabregas vs Hazard, Ivanovic vs the rest (they’re going to run and run) and sing Ultimate’s praises for helping the previously unloved play their part in our Fantasy seasons.

Pick at the buffet via this link, or dash straight to the main course via the handy player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Begovic
    Terry - Jones - Chambers
    Sigurdsson - Sterling - Ramsey - Young
    Sturridge - Costa - Rooney (C)

    Gilks - Moore - Baird - Marney - 1FT, 0.5M ITB

    A) Keep FT (2FT next week)
    B) Sturridge>Bony and Young>Fabregas (-4)
    C) Chambers>Hutton (Have 1.0M ITB)

Thinking of keeping my FT and seeing how things pan out...might dip in rank this week though. I'm concerned about Chambers, Young, Jones and Baird.

Assuming most of us here have something like this of a team structure:

    9.0.......9.0........10.0.......6.0........4.5
    ..........10.5.......10.5.....8.5.............

So, if Rooney & Costa remain consistent (or perform as we expected them to) & RvP/Aguero fires 2-3 goals in next couple of matches, what will be your strategy?

    a) replace one of the 10.5 striker by big 12.0
    b) replace one of the 9.0 mid by 6.0 & increase 8.5 striker to 12.0
    c) Something else

      It's simple.

Decide on one of Hazard, Cesc or Costa.

Let's hope Kun AND Rvp don't fire.

I went the Courtois, Terry, Costa option for Chelsea players. What worries me is no Fabregas. If Ramires comes back and plays a deeper mid-field position and Fabregas moves up and plays in the hole behind Costa, then I'll have no option but to WC for GW3.

All the people slagging off Tottenhams fantasy assets seem to forget they played most of the match last week with only ten men. To still win at west ham is good result.
Under the circumstances it was no suprise Ade, Eriksen and Lamela provided little attacking intent

Should be different this week although QPR are going to be a lot tougher this season than many believe

For getting dressed you have to use your back a lot. You'll experience some pain when getting dressed. It's hard to avoid. In the first 24 hours, ice. After that heat can help depending on whether it's inflamed or not. Anti-inflammatory meds are good to take just in case. When going to sleep tonight use a pillow to elevate the leg with the damaged hamstring. It helps a lot. Hamstring injuries can become chronic so be careful.

I've decided that I will be captaining Mata reardless of the 'punti-ness' of this move. I had a dismal gwk1, racking up a mere 51 points. I reckon if this punt pays off, I'll be up there with the elite again. Thoughts?

Trying to get rid of Sanchez as well. He's over-priced and not delivering atm.

    DDG (Elliot)
    Debuchy - Vlaar - Ferdinand - (Moore) - (Duff)
    Sanchez - Mata - Siggy - Mutch - (Marney)

My thoughts are its too early for punts. 51 is not great but no disaster. Captain Costa. Sanchez to Ramsey for now is ok if you want rid. Givs you 1.5. Easy to switch Rooney/Costa/Sturridge to RVP/Aguro if they hit it.
Or invest in defence, Duff to to Clyne?

    Here.

I think, if Mata drop before the GW starts, then it is easier for him to drop to 8.8.

If he hold on to 9.0 before the next GW, then he will need a lot more NTI for price to drop 0.2 as we have seen with siggy's increase.

    Make sense?

I think rises different to falls.

      Rises look like 100% for .1, 200% for .2 and 300% for .3

Falls are a % of owners dropping him for each .1 fall (is it 10% of owners getting rid?) this remains the same for each fall i think.

So ~160-165% into the red = Price Drop on TotalFPL?

Mata doesn't look like dropping 0.1 in that case 😀 Which means no bandwagons getting him on the cheap when he scores a double this week 😛

That only seems to be true for the flagged players, right?

Correct, on TotalFPL that seems to be the drop range for flagged players at present*. I recommend FISO for now. - they're getting very close. My analysis from earlier: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/08/21/the-scoutcast-episode-134-starter/?hc_page=11#hc_comment_8008053

*Remember TotalFPL may tinker with their formula at some point to try to make it more accurate, so nothing is guaranteed.

Fiso seems to be fairly accurate. ..

I'm seriously considering giving the armband to Mata. He's a massive differential, and has the potential to rack up double figures especially given the inevitable return of RVP. Whaddaya think fellas?

It hasn't been easy but have made it through the week without using my transfer.. Am just off to Reading Festival so not gonna bring my phone.. Am I good to save my transfer and lock this team in for the weekend?

    Krul
    Terry - Chester - Kolarov
    Hazard (c) - Mata - Sanchez - Siggy
    Austin - Rooney - Dzeko

    Foster - Naylor - Wanyama - Chambers

      Jealous on the Reading Festival!
Nalyor is the only dilemma for me. Guess its Austin vs him and think you have the right choice.

Cheers.. Yeah, tough one between Austin and Naylor.. I actually think both Swansea and Spurs will get cleany but never like benching a striker!

Right, I'm going sleep in a sec, but later on I'm going to do a bit of research into some teams. When looking into past seasons, how far would you recommend to go back? 5 seasons? 3 seasons?

Obviously a lot can change in that time, manager / players / tactics etc.

Depends on how many years they've had their most recent manager. 3 years seem good though.

Again I would think 3 as that's closer to current form,
Going back 5 would only depress Liverpool supporters!

It depends on your players you've got now, but it's usually best to go 3-4-3.

well im making a change my current is 3-4-3
      Mannone/Krul
      Debuchy Vlaar Caulker (Duff Blacket)
Sanchez Mata Hazard Ramsey ( Wayanma)
      Rooney Jovetic Austin

I want to remove Blacket and Bring in Rojo but will have to take a -4 hit so thought of taking away Jovetic also but dont know who to bring
