Siem de Jong is available for Newcastle’s trip to Aston Villa. Antonio Valencia and Jonny Evans join Robin van Persie in returning to full training for United. Mikel Arteta is ruled out of Arsenal’s trip to Everton. Marc Albrighton could return for Leicester’s clash with Chelsea at the Bridge, whilst Palace and West Ham have doubts in defence as the pair prepare to square up at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle have been boosted by the return of Siem de Jong from injury, with Alan Pardew confirming that the summer signing will be in the squad to face Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Cheick Tiote is will miss out once more with a hamstring injury, though Pardew has revealed that the midfielder has started running outside, as he works towards taking part in full training.

Manchester United could welcome back Antonio Valencia for the trip to Wearside, with the winger having returned to training this week. Reports confirm both Jonny Evans and Robin van Persie were also back in full training yesterday.

Arsene Wenger has conceded that Mikel Arteta will miss the weekend clash with ex-club Everton, after the midfielder sprained his ankle in midweek. Wenger also suggested that he “will check” whether the German contingent of Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski are available for selection ahead of the trip to Goodison Park.

James Tomkins has added to Sam Allardyce’s concerns at the back, with the central defender a doubt to face Crystal Palace after missing the opener due to injury.

Crystal Palace’s caretaker boss Keith Millen could be without Scott Dann for the weekend, with the defender rated as having an outside chance to face West Ham. Dann will undergo further assessment today, though the Eagles boss could welcome back Adrian Mariappa to the squad after injury. Jonny Williams is fit again and available for selection, whilst Jerome Thomas could also be in contention to feature.

Nigel Pearson is hopeful that Jamie Vardy and Marc Albrighton will be in the squad to face Chelsea, with the pair taking part in full training during the week. However midfielders Danny Drinkwater and Matty James look set to miss the trip to Stamford Bridge through injury, though Pearson suggests the duo “aren’t far away” from a return.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that Gaston Ramirez will miss the weekend visit of West Brom with a groin injury. Koeman will also assess the fitness of new defender Florin Gardos before deciding whether or not to include him in the squad to face the Baggies – the centre-half missed out last weekend due to a hamstring problem.

West Brom boss Alan Irvine has confirmed every player aside from Joleon Lescott finished full training yesterday, with the likes of Gareth McAuley and James Morrison returning to action after missing the home draw against Sunderland last time around.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

tempted by Mata to Silva, but I will probably save FT and hope for better things from Mata (good fixtures)

should I play the below 4-4-2 or 3-4-3?

    Bego
    JT Clyne Caulker Chambers Wisdom
    Mata Hazard Ramsey Siggy Mutch
    Costa Rooney Fletcher

    On 3-4-3, Caulker or Chambers?

Boys and girls. Question for the season. This question will hurt whole whole season, starting this w/w against Lei.

Which 3 Chelsea players to have?

    Terry, Cahill, Ivan (defender)
    Hazard
    Fabregas
    Costa

They all look good and all of them have potential to get 200 pts for the season. Maybe defenders little bit bellow but for that money that is value !!! Ok who to get out?

Morning folks, apologies if this is a common one but could do with a few opinions...

It's the Jovatic problem: worried that he'll drop back to the bench vs 'Pool and I'll be left with one of Wisdom (sou), van Aanholt (MUN) or Marney (SWA). Sadly however I have 0.0 in the bank and as such would have to punt on someone 7.5 or cheaper as there really no options at 8.0.

Q: Save my FT and get in a solid replacement next week or take a punt this week? Cheers 🙂

I'm in the same boat, and am sticking with Jovetic for 1 more week, saving the FT and using the 2 to change Jovetic and Young to a different pair, which I'm not sure on yet.

I don't think there is a standout striker at less than 8m, Remy maybe, but he plays for QPR after all...

Stick with Jovetic, I don't think Pellegrini will rush Aguero back so he could get a good 60m and you never know what he is capable of, but this is his last chance for me.

Can someone explain to me how the player prices changes work?
I know there is a page where you can see if the player is eligable for a price rise or drop.
I also know that the max rise is 0.3 per week, but why?
When are those changes calculeted, on which days? How many times per week? (guessing 3?)

All based on the amount of people selling/buying (& I'm assuming based on a percentage of how many people own player in first place, compared to people who play the game)

So why is the international break a good time to gain team value? I will still be just 0.3 rise per player?

As a counter foil to Mr Bojangles repost on the Hazard/Costa (c) question....Last seasons chances created highlights the potential for Hazard...even above his decent haul last season...http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/5095/

Chances created to actual assists is out of sync...mainly due to the poor quality of the strikers at Chelsea last season...Food for thought though.

but who's he creating the chances for now? 😛

hazard's a great pick, but costa's less likely to blank in my opinion. I'm happy with a solid (c) pick.

Regarding the Hazard vs Fab/Costa debate. Remember, Chelsea hasn't had any penalties this season so far. Even though it's Haz on pens most probably, it is not 100%. Who is getting rif of Haz if he's not on pens?

Penalties are still only a minor part of what he does. I am more concerned about where Fab is playing than I was.
I thought he was due to play further back. But I won't panic buy one to the other, I'll wait a week or two and see how the mid-field looks after a few games.

That is why I was gutted the pen the other night wasn't given. Hazard without pens is still a great FPL player but I have it penciled in to dump Haz/Costa in a couple of weeks to bring in Sterling/Sturridge so knowing who is on pens before then would be great

I made the call to go with Terry at the start of the season because he is club captain and for the first part of the season atleast, there aren't midweek UCL games or anything, so I'm sure he's capable of playing 1 game a week, every week.

As you say, Cahill seems at risk of Ivan moving into CB, Azpili going RB and Luis at LB.
