Roberto Martinez seems like such a cool guy.

Very nice when talking to the reporter after the game even though it must have been incredibly frustrating to not get 3 points after that Arsenal game.

    My team:

    Krul (Bego)
    Colo Jones Cahill (Debuchy) (PVA)
    Ramsey Eriksen Fab Siggy (Barton)
    Costa Rooney Bojan

Tempted to do Debuchy > Clyne before Clyne rises in price, but I'm kinda against Saturday night transfers.
Also want Hazard in. Does anyone see any options for transfers? Advice?

Returns from all 6 players who played today. 44 points with Rooney, Aguero, Sterling, Chester and PVA to go. Augero (c) next week is the main appeal.

      Having the same problem.

Out of the 8.5 options it's either Dzeko or Ade. Trouble is neither have played yet this week so I'd prefer to wait, but if Giroud drops tonight I wouldn't be able to afford them.

Other popular option is Naismith. You catch a price rise, but his next fixture is Chelsea. Not ideal if you'd have to play him.

I'm leaning towards Dzeko myself and doing it tonight. I'd intend to downgrade a MF after GW4/5 to trade Dzeko up for Aguero ready for GW6.

Are you guys going to play Naismith week in and week out in a 3-4-3? He's nice at 5m and all and you could eventually see him rising to 5.5 or so, so you could realize 0.2 profit and sell at 5.2 in a month or so, but I can't see him turning into a 10+ league goalscorer overnight despite the first two weeks.

In 31 games last year he scored 5 league goals.
In 31 games the year prior, he scored 4 league goals.

I understand Everton looked great (in the first half) today and the FPL value of a 5.0m starter is nice, but I hope folks don't expect massive returns - instead he's a nice budget play to free up perhaps a 4th midfielder or 5th midfielder slot upgrade...

His scoring rate is far better than you've made out. Instead of 31 games, look at the minutes he actually played mainly from the bench. Sure he'll eventually be my 8th attacker

        1. Ibracadabra
          • 17 Years

Fair - as an 8th attacker it makes sense - only 0.5m more than the cheapest playing forward option (Vaz Te) and 0.5m more than the typical 4.5m midfielders like the 2pt a week Cattermole and Marney's. In that sense, it's only 0.5m lost that you could spend elsewhere if the 8th spot isn't playing... As a 6th or 7th (regularly) playing contributor, I think he's a long term disappointment.

With form & price rise on your side, even a modest 1-2 more goals in the next month will be very useful, but again I can't imagine you'll want to have him regularly playing as a third striker for the long term - maybe a 3-5-2 setup with him as first sub every week will make sense.

Reckon Dummett is nailed on now? lookin for a 4.0 defender..(got hutton). if not then i'll just get Moore who looks very nailed on and fixtures improve in a few weeks

Worth a gamble imo Valar as long as not all your defenders are gambles.

my defense is a bit too safe and pricey tbh.. need a downgrade
        Terry Debuchy Caulker Chester Hutton!
Need cash to upgrade Davis in midfield so considerin Debuchy to Dummett

Cheers all.. Bedknobs i already got krul so just want a 4.0 benchwarmer for emergencies. Dummett fits the bill

Until Santon is back. He's first on my bench this week w/ 7 pts. Hoping either Ashley Young or Edin Dzeko are left on the subs bench but I think it's wishful thinking. Not a good "real life" player, but I think the 3rd best 4m defensive option after Hutton & Wisdom.

    Got a midfield of-

    Mata - Fabregas - Sterling - Siggy - Marney

Do I need to fit in Ramsey in there?

I'm happy with it but that Leicester fixture looks enticing.

I've just realised that me and my girlfriend will be on holiday for transfer deadline day,

Straight onto the hotels website, turns out it has Sky,

Now I just need to do some persuading to get her back into the hotel room nice and early...

So we can watch Jim White.
