The Dugout Discussion – Sunday

Share:

Sunday serves up a trio of Gameweek encounters, with Thursday’s Europa League ties pushing Hull and Tottenham’s home fixtures alongside Man United’s trip to the Stadium of Light.

Events begin at the KC Stadium and White Hart Lane, with Steve Bruce’s Hull hosting Stoke and Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs facing a London derby clash with QPR. Fantasy managers will be focused mainly on the latter, with Christian Eriksen the top owned asset on show from the early kick-offs.

Attention then turns to the North East, with Louis van Gaal’s United outfit taking on Sunderland in a bid to get their season underway following the opening day defeat to Swansea. With a staggering 48% ownership, Wayne Rooney remains the headline act, while Juan Mata’s 19% ownership will be holding out for returns in order to stem a tide of sales that have already seen the Spanish playmaker drop in price.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is it time to WC? I think I am going to:

    De gea Myhill
    Bartley Caulker Bruce Terry Lovern
    Ramsey Siggy Hazard Sterling Eriksen
    Rooney Dzeko Naismith

Honestly, it is just that backline and keepers that is giving me headaches. I want to trigger to fix that, and bring in Fab/Costa/Ivan/Dier.

    Thoughts?

I think most of your team is fine, I wouldnt WC yet, but thats just me.

yeah your defence could use some work, but save up a transfer one week, do 2 in 1, and your nearly there.

      up to you bro...

Yeah that defence is shite but given that the rest of the team is fine I would be tempted to just bring in Dier this week then wildcard if still necessary in the intl break the week after

Cheers, thanks for the advice. Sadly, because of my money situation, I would need to drop Caulker to bring in Dier and would still be stuck with my 2 inactive defenders. Worth it?

If you're planning on bringing in Ivanovic you could drop Terry. I wouldn't worry about the two defenders, they can just rot on your bench for another week...

Is Naismith a genuine option? Is he cemented into the team now? Do Everton have anyone due to return that may cause a change of shape and force Naismith out? Seems a bargain if he is playing every week

    Thoughts on Hazard to Fabregas?

Think Hazard will score more points (just) than Fabregas this season but:
    - Could really use the extra 1m to upgrade my team (have Jovetic)
    - Fabregas' value is skyrocketing

Ok so if I keep Hazard, what do I do with Jovetic? Will wait to see how he does tomorrow but given Aguero's early return it seems like the writings on the wall for him and he's already dropped in price. Everyone worth upgrading to is ~8.5m range.

Anyone know if Dummett is likely to keep is place for Newcastle?Looking for a 4m replacement for Bruce that rotates with Villa over their tough upcoming fixtures?

I think Pardew prefers him to Haidara, so he will probably keep his place until Santon gets back in November (unless he makes a big mistake). So he is likely to start throughout our good run of fixtures.

Mmm, early ponder as a Mata owner:

Roo and Jones -> Aguero and Dummett (-4)

its a wait and see. Why do always people kneejerk so intensily? one half without roo scoring, and you want him out. OK, ill admit im contemplating the same thing, but Im not asking for advices on this alrdy, mainly because city have yet to play. And were not sure if Agu willl start or he might even get injured.

Is it time to get Giroud?

would it be silly to wait until Balotelli is on the system? who would you replace him with?

or would you just leave him in?

Wouldn't he have said 8.5 or less if that's what he meant. I'd definitely consider Naismith

I think def/Cm is where the issues are. Di Maria will solve neither

Hi guys, please rate my team:

    De Gea (Gilks)
    Cahill Clynz Debuchy (Wisdom Bruce)
    Mata Hazard Siggy Ramsey (Elmohamady)
    Costa Rooney Bojan

    2FT / 0 in the bank

please give me your suggestion to put Bojan out.. I am thinking of downgrading a defender and upgrade Bojan. What do you guys think?

Or, is naithmith the best solution and save 1FT for next week?
