Chambers but have to wait on presser to see if he is likely to start or not. Either way I see 0 or 90.

Start chambers, and get wisdom off the bench if he doesn't play. Unlikely to get a cameo appearance.

    Krul - Myhill
    Blackett - Dier - Clyne - Hutton - Dummett
    Fabragas - Yaya - Sigurdsson - Ramsey - Larsson
    Aguero - Rooney - Naismith

    0.3m left, wildcard played.

Keen to jump off the Naismith wagon but hes so cheap I feel im stuck with him.

Also not sure with Aguero, Rooney, Costa, and Ballo. 2 of them 4 is proving a difficult choice.

Anyone else got any tips for a midfeilder around Larssons price range or is he a good choice?

Balotelli is not going to have a normal debut. He will either score or get sent off or something else will happen no-one is expecting. Its just not going to be "normal".

For £10m I dont want to watch from behind a sofa.

    Krul
    Rio, Hutton, Chambers (O'Shea, Chester)
    Mata, Fabregas, Ramsey, Young (Albrighton)
    Rooney, Costa, Sturridge

2 FT, 0 in the bank.

What would you do? Obviously want to get rid of Young (for Siggy) but not sure who to get rid of out of Mata, Cesc and Costa (for Lamela/Eriksen/Adebayor). Any advice would be appreciated.

It does but I want Sturridge GW4 onwards I think. Chelsea have the worse fixtures whereas United have good fixtures and poor form (hence Mata vs Cesc/Costa).

Just a small comment tip for anyone who hasn't picked up yet -

Since FPL have changed many things for Price Changes over past couple of seasons, it has now simply a case of avoiding drops. It is literally impossible to chase a rise. Let me explain, when it rises you only get 50% profit back when transferring. Basically, this means unless the price rises by 0.2, it makes no difference when transferring out. A 0.1 rise alone is USELESS. Yet, when it drops by 0.1 you make an instant LOSS. The consequence of this? Basically you have to avoid every drop you can, especially since this year, it's been noticed that second and third rises thresholds have been doubled and tripled respectively. You won't make much chasing rises if 5 of your players drop, it's all about avoiding.

Unfortunately, FPL have also seemingly cracked down on FPL Price checking (or so we believe) and if the price checking websites stop functioning completely (they're already experiencing problems) we'll have to act pre-emptively in transfers. In conclusion, in the transfer arena the strategy is avoiding losses, no longer can you really afford to take price hits over points hits, it just doesn't work. Sure sometimes they'll recover but if they don't chances are you'll have you budget cut for the rest of the season.

At the end of the day though, the performers won't drop, it's just a case of finding them.

What's your thoughts? Is this a correct analysis? How would you tackle it?

I've held onto Mata and Jovetic.

Where I've gotten the points, I'm 0.2 short now on value. Quite annoying, but ultimately I want to hold onto them for as long as possible so their selling value isn't a prime issue for me. However if through injury I want to get rid of them.... 😕

I just pick players I think will score points. The players who score points will rise in value anyway. I won't transfer someone out just because their price is falling. I kept Jovetic and Mata, and they both got double digit hauls. Just concentrate on building a good team and the price rises should take care of themselves imo.

      1. CellinoArmy
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 10 months ago

Agree on that, but a couple of poor performances can cause knee jerks from many, and drop in value. You keep faith, he's injured, know you have say 7.8/8 left to get a replacement, this is what i'm worried about.

Its like I said earlier free transfers are going to become a case of only being able to afford transferring players in who are considerably less in value which basically means no transfers at all unless you have injuries

Spurs and Liverpool is going to be interesting.

Spurs off to a flyer with no real flaws at the moment, have a great attack and defence. Liverpool coming from a 3-1 defeat looking for a response. Probably the hardest result to predict in a long time

Thanks for the reply - Hoillett I'm planning to get rid of, but I feel I can argue a case for the other two.

Evan appears to be LVG's favoured CB, ahead of Jones and Smalling in the pecking order whilst also cheaper. Man U also play the 3 promoted teams in their next 3 fixtures. A punt, but with 0.4% ownership a differential that could pay off.

As for Larsson, it was a toss up between him and Ince, but potential Europa rotation and a lack of returns at Palace last season made Ince the weaker prospect to me. Sunderland also have some great upcoming fixtures, and he's registered attacking points in GW1 and GW2.

      This from Pellegrini:

At the moment, it is difficult to say who is the best striking partner for him because Alvaro Negredo is injured and Kun Aguero is not yet 100% but he can play with anyone.

What's the reasoning behind you only getting a 50% of price increases? Seems annoying and unnecessary. Aka jovetic drops to 7.9, likely will rise back up to 8 but that's worthless to me as I've basically lost 0.1m.

It only starts from what you bought him for in the first place, so you won't lose anything in that case.

Dummett, is he expected to be around long in that FB spot until Santon returns in late October (ish) or is someone waiting in the wings?

At 4m I don't need him to be absolutely nailed on, lord knows in my defense of 4m players for the most part, he will be in good company 😀

Looking to boot Ferdinand this week, despite his good fixture, i'm not sticking around on the QPR wagon.

      His to lose for now.

Would get rid of Ferdinand.. i have Caulker and considerin him as my 8th attacker atm and keeping him 🙂 ... Haidara is arguably the better player but Pardew likes em average so he's gone with Dummett for the moment. should be ok for a bit until he has a run of bad games. though he's starting position is in his own hands at the moment. worth the risk

    Krul - Mannone
    Cahill - Kompany - N Taylor - Hutton - Wisdom
    Sterling - Sigurdsson - Fabregas - Ramsey - King
Aguero - Naismith - Diego Costa
