With cheque books fluttering on the eve of the transfer window slamming shut, our Fantasy seasons could be transformed by some notable new arrivals. In this week’s ScoutCast episode, Granville and I chew over the latest fresh faces to crash the player list – United’s “Angel” Di Maria and Liverpool’s “Devil” Balotelli.

With just a single point between us and the comfort of top 100k placings, my co-host and I are more than just a little content as we the rule over the current bandwagons and preview another weekend’s action. It won’t last.

        I like it as well, it makes me focus on getting the best player for the upcoming weeks. Haven't yet made a price change based transfer

    Really can't make up my mind on the armband between aguero and Rooney. Having kun is a differential in itself so currently leaning towards roonpig.

      It's quite a tough week for making a decisive captain choice.

      Of the two I think Aguero edges it slightly. United have been that poor.

    Rather than TV not being important anymore, couldn't it be even more important if all the margins are crazy fine now? Some people will be operating with less than 100 presumably. Granted, that means they have terrible players, but regardless.

      People have said price changes will now be about avoiding fallers but I see it as being about getting in players whose value will have increased. Players like Luis who soon will have dropped 0.3

          Yes, just used Luis as an example. Plenty good players are down 0.1 or 0.2 already

      Nah I don't see it like that...

      There will always be bandwagons, and this year we have had a limited amount of them... but most of them probably won't last (perhaps only Siggy), and they will eventually become out of favour...

      There are so many players that are dropping like stones right now, which means that technically the 100m is worth more to us right now than it did at the start of the season...

      I guarantee you that some of these players that have fallen in price will become bargains real soon, so I don't see people with low TV suffering at all this year...

        Right. The transfer value bar is adjusted from the 110+ of the past to something more reasonable. But it will still be more than people not operating by scooping up the players who had fallen who then become first team regulars again, etc.

          Yes, don't get me wrong, I also look to try to build a high TV wherever possible, but I'm just not willing to do it at the expense of making risky early transfers...

    I have made 2 transfers this GW and may have to make 2 more (yes, stuck with a ridiculous team!) before deadline. I can play the widlcard if/ when I do the next 2/3 transfers this GW and save -16 points, correct?

      Assuming you had one free transfer, you would be at -12 with 4 total transfers for the week. If you do the 5th, then, yes, -16. You don't seriously need to do all that, though, do you?

            Tough that I'm not sure. Will depend a little on the weeks you look like you'll be shortest. Ferdinand or Chester? Moore seems nailed at 4.0 if you want more cash

      Nice team, but do you want double (triple) Newcastle defence? Newcastle seem more solid than last year, but I doubt they'll produce a Chelsea 2013-14 level of clean sheet returns. Also, if a Newcastle forward or sub hits a rich vein of form you won't be able to bring them in without shifting a Magpie defender or goalkeeper first. From that collection, I'd drop Dummett.

        Yea, that's a fair call. I just figured Dummet will get more points than a Wisdom or a Moore, who are his peers at 4.0m. I figure with Bertrand and PVA on the bench he was a decent short term measure.

          He is a decent 4.0 shout while he's first choice, I just think if you're going for the Krul/Elliot combo between the sticks then you might want to consider another option in defence.

          I know he's bench fodder, but you Hutton should upgraded to a 4.5m that you can actually play... otherwise 3 x 4m defenders is too weak...

          Feel it's too risky to pick new players who haven't gelled with their teams yet... Di Maria AND Balotelli?

          One is enough, not both... preferably none, but that's just my opinion...

    So it seems Costa's injury is minor at best, I may bench him this week (depending on the press conference later) but I see no reason to bump him out if he will be fine after the break.

        Sadly in the USA I run into maybe 5 EPL fans a week.

        I feel schurrle will be sold in a year or so. Gut feeling.

        Fab and costa are here a while. Drogba is a legend so that makes him so tempting.

    Lots of people ruining decent sides with wildcards I think. Could regret it. Too many unknowns still. Players like jovetic, kun, eriksen, lamela, balotelli, sturridge, sterling, sanchez, costa, di maria, mata all have various question marks atm. I wouldn't want to commit yet

          Yeah that's the one I earmarked at the start of the season, due to a perceived massive fixture difficulty shift for certain teams...

          But if I feel I can get the team I want with a couple of -4s, then I might try to save the WC...

          Would really just like to fit in both Baines & Kun and have it not affect the rest of my team...

            My thoughts exactly. Probably Sanchez along with those two though. Would be nice to have a late season wildcard. Never experienced that before

      Good in the back and midfield. Once you ship Drogba for a regular starter, it will be solid.
