Fantasy managers have three matches to feast their eyes on today before the international break is upon us. Up first, Spurs welcome Liverpool to the Lane as Mauricio Pochettino’s side attempt to pick up a third straight win under the new man in charge.

A host of players from both sides are on the radar this afternoon, with Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli and Emmanuel Adebayor key to the hosts’ chances of avenging the 5-0 humiliation that led to Andre Villas-Boas’ departure last year. Liverpool are poised for a superb run of fixtures after this match and while Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling are the obvious targets, Mario Balotelli’s display will be eagerly analysed.

Villa and Hull go head-to-head in the other 1.30pm kick-off, with Paul Lambert’s side seeking a third successive shut-out before the fixtures take a real turn for the worse.

In the final match of the Gameweek, Leicester entertain Arsenal at 4pm. Aaron Ramsey rolls up to the King Power Stadium looking to net for the third successive league match, whilst Alexis Sanchez is also finding his form – having scored the winner against Besiktas in midweek, the Chilean’s confidence is on the rise.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Right, I am not wumming here, just asking....

I listened to the Liverpool game on TalkSport and when Sterling came off near the end the commentator said that Rodgers was asking if he was OK and how that would be a concern for Roy Hodgson in the stands.

Do Arsenal lack of ambition? They have spent big on 2 players (Ozil and Sanchez) but still it doesn't click and they don't look like they can compete for the title. Has Wenger definitely lost it?

Wenger is an arrogant manager, he doesn't set up to counter teams, over confident in his own teams ability, that for me is why they won't win the title. They need a striker though, I really like Giroud just because despite being a donkey he leads the line well, brings players into play, holds it up well and he can score. Arsenal don't have that at present, not enough players making runs into the box either.

      1. Yome
        • 14 Years
        11 years, 11 months ago

Yes, I think Wenger also doesn't want to put himself into question, he doesn't want to accept his mistakes or refuses to take responsibility it seems. Buying a world class striker should have been a top top priority but Sanchez ain't a real striker, he was class on the wing at Barca.

        "Wenger is an arrogant manager"

When i think of the most successful managers, this is one of the qualities they (almost) all share.

It's early days, and far too soon to draw conclusions like this. Chelsea struggled to beat this side and Everton failed to.

I'm not sure that pointing out the massive signings is an example of their lack of ambition.

The players haven't hit form yet, i agree. No reflection on their ambition though. Those signings state exactly the opposite.

      1. Yome
        • 14 Years
        11 years, 11 months ago

Correct, they are buying expensive players but still their ambition is not reflected on the pitch.
I think Ozil after one year not finding form is a big worry

        1. 7shadesofsmoke
          • 13 Years
          11 years, 11 months ago

Özils form is a worry, i agree.

Ambition not reflected on the field is saying they are ambitious off it, for one.
Also, Arsenal are criticised mainly for being too openly attacking and 'naive'. This is because they are trying to score all the time - being ambitious.

You can question their form, or the form of individuals, or Wenger's tactics, but i can't see any argument to suggest they lack the ambition.

Ramsey look like Giroud, both the haircut and the performance

Been ok - expecting better second half . Have been impressed with Leicester from day 1 and still am.

I still think Ade is the best option in that bracket.
