With the first international break of the season already underway, we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Laurent Koscielny was withdrawn midway through the first-half of yesterday’s trip to Leicester after sustaining a head injury. Arsene Wenger reckons the Frenchman “should be alright” in a week, while the Gunners boss also revealed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (calf) and Mesut Ozil (ankle) picked up problems in the 1-1 stalemate.

Aston Villa
Skipper Ron Vlaar was subbed off due to a calf complaint in Villa’s win over Hull, Paul Lambert has confirmed.

Chelsea
Oscar was unavailable for the Blues’ trip to Everton in Saturday evening after being ruled out with an ankle problem. Eden Hazard has since pulled out of the Belgium squad with a “small injury”.

Crystal Palace
Marouane Chamakh is set to be sidelined for a month with the hamstring problem picked up during the weekend draw at Newcastle. Fellow forward Dwight Gayle was also withdrawn at St James’ Park after sustaining an ankle knock but is expected to be fit in time for Gameweek 4.

Everton
Similar to Chelsea’s Hazard, Romelu Lukaku has also withdrawn from international duties for Belgium due to a small injury.

Man City
Summer signing Fernando was subbed off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke with a groin problem, Manuel Pellegrini admitted post-match.

Man United
Initial reports suggested Juan Mata was replaced with three minutes remaining of United’s draw at Burnley with a hamstring problem. Louis van Gaal has since stated the Spaniard was withdrawn due to cramp. The Red Devils’ boss also confirmed Angel di Maria was subbed off as a precautionary measure after sustaining a knock on his calf.

Newcastle
Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat was withdrawn with just three minutes left of Saturday’s clash against Palace after picking up a knock.

Stoke
Peter Odemwingie was forced off with a knee problem just 20 minutes after appearing off the bench in the Potters’ win at City.

Tottenham
Danny Rose was withdrawn midway through the second-half of yesterday’s home loss to Liverpool with a leg problem.

Haven't been able to watch any football so far this season , how did Balotelli look in comparison to Sturridge in terms of goal threat position etc

missed 2 sitters both were complementing each other. Their link up play was good both will score similarly imo

Sturridge looked great... but balotelli got into a lot of good positions. very wasteful(could have scored a hattrick) but it was his debut. expecting big things

pretty good positioning, had two great chances who could have easily scored. I think he will be really good

saw him run more in this match than he has for a few seasons. positive early signs. sturridge pulls wide a lot but like when suarez was there i don't think liverpool have a formation, it's far too fluid for 3 or 4 numbers

Concerned about game time. Expect him to start every game but think he's more likely to be subbed off than Sturridge for a while

    17. His goals cost Monaco almost £5 million each.
In his injury-wrecked season in France he managed 11 goals in 17 appearances, which equates to £4.7 million per goal.

Put the current high scoring players into your team (without moving out any player who has risen in price and you want to keep)

Sell them on deadline morning and re-select team you actually want.

          That's the basics of it.

Feel for Arsenal fans in all honesty. But they've done it to themselves with their blind allegiance to Wenger.

Looking at being a bit mad and doubling on soton with Bertrand and Clyne 🙂 Always like a risk and have a good feeling about them at the moment. Also considering Manquilo. Not 100% sure yet though.

Gotta feel for Arsenal fans on a day like today.

Every club has either made good signings or are making them now but the best Wenger can do is try to get Defoe on loan for a year when it's oh so obvious that they need a top quality striker.

I did Mata -> Sterling and have 5.2 to replace Chambers with.

    A) go with Clyne
    B) get 0.3 more and get Moreno

      I'm reading this (Guardian)

United pay 6M upfront (peanuts), don’t have to pay all of his berserk wages, have an option to release him after 12 months (or earlier one assumes) if he gets crocked again.
