With the first international break of the season already underway, we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Laurent Koscielny was withdrawn midway through the first-half of yesterday’s trip to Leicester after sustaining a head injury. Arsene Wenger reckons the Frenchman “should be alright” in a week, while the Gunners boss also revealed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (calf) and Mesut Ozil (ankle) picked up problems in the 1-1 stalemate.

Aston Villa
Skipper Ron Vlaar was subbed off due to a calf complaint in Villa’s win over Hull, Paul Lambert has confirmed.

Chelsea
Oscar was unavailable for the Blues’ trip to Everton in Saturday evening after being ruled out with an ankle problem. Eden Hazard has since pulled out of the Belgium squad with a “small injury”.

Crystal Palace
Marouane Chamakh is set to be sidelined for a month with the hamstring problem picked up during the weekend draw at Newcastle. Fellow forward Dwight Gayle was also withdrawn at St James’ Park after sustaining an ankle knock but is expected to be fit in time for Gameweek 4.

Everton
Similar to Chelsea’s Hazard, Romelu Lukaku has also withdrawn from international duties for Belgium due to a small injury.

Man City
Summer signing Fernando was subbed off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke with a groin problem, Manuel Pellegrini admitted post-match.

Man United
Initial reports suggested Juan Mata was replaced with three minutes remaining of United’s draw at Burnley with a hamstring problem. Louis van Gaal has since stated the Spaniard was withdrawn due to cramp. The Red Devils’ boss also confirmed Angel di Maria was subbed off as a precautionary measure after sustaining a knock on his calf.

Newcastle
Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat was withdrawn with just three minutes left of Saturday’s clash against Palace after picking up a knock.

Stoke
Peter Odemwingie was forced off with a knee problem just 20 minutes after appearing off the bench in the Potters’ win at City.

Tottenham
Danny Rose was withdrawn midway through the second-half of yesterday’s home loss to Liverpool with a leg problem.

Koeman is really bringing in worthy replacements. Do you know if they are still in for a winger?

Yup Mane from Salzburg. I was saying when they were selling that they would reinvest well and I believe they have. Why people were saying they would be relegation candidates and do badly I will never know 🙂

I think that Long will swarm around Pelle, JRod on the left, Mane on the right with Tadic behind the two strikers.

Would mean that they might have to play a 4-4-2 diamond or 4-1-3-2 formation?

Wanyama and Schneiderlin are a brilliant midfield partnership and I believe Morgan is at his best when he has a proper DM next to him. Can't see Koeman breaking them up. Not all of our attacking options will play together. A decent PL team needs options and depth.

Just total rubbish....Two entirely different sort of players for entirely different styles of play...Arsenal have a problem in that Ozil Santi Sanchez are all much of a muchness....Welbeck add height and a bit of a bulldozer quality...as Giroud does...

As strange as it sounds, any excitement from the Falcao deal has been diminished by this Welbeck sale. Not happy.

Not about that. I'd rather not have Falcao despite his quality.

Danny is a local lad who has a lot of potential and it isn't nice to see him go, let alone to Arsenal.

Come on man. Welbeck is a decent player but he's a striker that doesn't really score goals.

Honestly, I think Danny can develop in to a really great player given the time but unfortunately we aren't able to provide him the opportunities he deserves. This Falcao deal is a strange one and although it will potentially help us, can't help but be sad about Welbeck leaving. Local lad, came through the academy, wanted him to succeed.

Mainly plays as a No10 but can operate out wide or up top. He's an exciting player, not a goal scorer but more of a creator.

Oh god. We need a goal scorer, we could've won yesterday if we had someone to finish these chances.

Get rid of Mata and Rooney in UFPL?

Too much of a risk of being dropped?

Funny how Tigers fans cheering at HBA being announced and silent when Gaston was mentioned. It's like they haven't watch either of them play! Last time I saw HBA at St Mary's he was carrying about 30lbs more than he should and ran like he was carrying 60lbs more!

Gaston has a much lower PL profile. I think it's a good move for all parties.

Prefer Ramirez signing for consistency but with HBA you never know what you get. I hope he explodes for us and reignites his career.

Is Wenger really not going to sign a CB?

I believe we only have Chambers as senior cover for Mert and Kos, so that's a massive risk.

What's the point in being in it if you can't win it?

Next season United will be contenders for European Champions. Arsenal, never!

No chance of winning it though. Manchester could win it in 1-2 years with this team.
