After kicking off our series of Big Numbers articles with a look at the best performing Defenders over the first three Gameweeks, we now move further up the pitch. This time round we focus on midfielders, with a trio of summer signings all showing plenty of promise in their new surroundings.

    Rate My WC Team

    McGregor
    Dier, Monero, Shawcross, Clyne
    Sterling, Di Maria, Ramsey
    Naismith, Falcao, Costa

    Subs: Myhill, Siggy, Ramerez, Wisdom

I am undecided over formation so the 4-3-3 is not concrete. Opinions anybody?

i feel that downgrading Ivan to collocini for example, will allow you wellbeck for naismoth and upgrade the last defender to naylor and you will achieve better balance.

Okay so, Team and Plans below:

    Begovic (Elliot)

    Bertrand Taylor Coloccini (Duff Wisdom)

    Fabregas ADM Sterling Siggy (£4.5m)

    Costa Balotelli Falcao

    Plans:

Ride out the Arsenal fixture storm for the next 3 weeks then do Balotelli + £4m defender > Welbeck + Koscielny. That will leave £1m in the bank for other action. Thoughts?

Do you think Falcao will start the next game? The team news doesn't have him starting at all. They are usually spot on. Who will drop between Mata/Rooney/RVP/Falcao?

Sorry if he's a chucker he's a chucker. Unless he goes and rectifies the flaw, I dont see it as being ridiculous at all. Big loss to cricket for whatever time he's away though, also I am pretty sure he'll be back.

The laws exist to serve the game, and if the chucking law stops Ajmal from playing then it's the law that needs to change.

Does this apply to county/club cricket aswell? what about all the teams he's illegally bowled to this season for Worcester? he's destroyed every team he's come up against with his illegal action & they've pretty much cruised to the Div2 title as a result. It's wrong.

I cant understand how anyone can defend it.... EVERY ball... crazy.

if you had to choose between Coleman and Baines.. which one would you choose? Baines has all the potential in the world but Coleman has been getting all the points from last season

        11 years, 3 months ago

im firmly in the baines camp too.. now that he and coleman are the same price it makes matter easier. last season was coleman's season cause of price tag

    2. Arvin-ation

Thinking of getting one of em too, are ya? 🙂

Coleman has more potential for goals from open play.
Baines has more potential for assist from open play.

Baines has a lot of potential for goal from set pieces.
      Coleman has 0

      So

      BAINES----------COLEMAN

      Assists-------------0
      Goals(SP)--------Goals(OP)
      0.1 Cheaper
      Further up the pitch

I'd go for Baines. Every season he brings home the points even if they aren't as noticeable as the occasional Coleman goal.

      1. Valar(Keith)
        • 16 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

Yup.. You just know Baines will get the 170+ total at the end of the season cause of set pieces. Coleman @ a cheaper price may have been a better option. at the same price though baines is far more safer

I'd say use your bench (unless they aren't starters). His injury didn't look serious. Don't see him missing more than a week, think you can save the transfer / not take a hit.

He should be fit for this weekend.. It was precautionary move he came back to WBA..

      --

'He's had a little bit of a problem with his thumb during pre-season but nothing we haven't been able to manage,' Irvine told wba.co.uk.

'He just got it jarred. He went to catch the ball, secured it with his left hand but it then ricocheted off and hit down on the top of his thumb. That's exactly the movement he wouldn't have wanted.

'We don't feel there's a need to do anything drastic at this particular moment.

'There isn't a lot of swelling there, there's not a lot of bleeding, we don't believe it's a major injury or a big problem.'

Anyone else a bit stumped with what to do with Sturridge?

My front 3: Costa, Sturridge & Bony.

Can't afford Aguero. Would like Falcao but he's not in Demi's predicted line up.

    Balotelli time?

price rise changes are absolutely crap ,maybe my last season ,even last week, totally ruined it for me ,I like the idea of taking a punt on someone on a Saturday and hoping hell get through training ,this rule change has ruined it ,,bye bye......

I wonder how much or little strength and conditioning coaches in football focus on hamstring strengthening. Or how lazy players are with their pre-training/game stretches. Still seems that hamstring injuries are far too prevalent in the game.

Think I will still go the KF*C frontline and downgrade one to Welbeck later. Dont think double Arsenal is wise just yet and dont think there are any milfs better than Rambo

    I need some good advice.

Being a Sturridge owner, I don't intend to keep him with high price and good alternatives out there.

Intend to have Aguero latest by GW6 as that is when their good run starts, but GW4 and GW5 fixtures for City is tough.

Would you transfer in Balotelli just for GW4 and GW5, which is likely to cost 4 points?

    Already have Liverpool midfield coverage.

nope...even with tough fixtures...Aguero might score! so go for Aguero only

He's totally fit right, no injury issues? Always worried re Aguero
