    What do you prefer?

    A. Dzeko + Eriksen (and save FT)
    B. Naismith + Ramsey
    C. Welbeck + Ramsey

Rooney would have been me captain a all day long, QPR at home, Sunday game, just doesn't feel like the right choice. Not 100% confident on sterling either mind.

OK so early question suggests Costa, Welbeck and Falcao are the preferred front 3.

So what to do about City? Have no Chelsea midfielders and fit Silva in there instead?

It makes no sense. Whether Silva will score more than Fabregas is completely unaffected by whether you have another Chelsea player.

Think it's mad to consider Welbeck as an alternative to Ramsey or even as a 2nd striker...

As a United fan, I can honestly say his finishing is woeful, other than tap-ins and if he couldnt get into our struggling team, how will he score 15-20 times for Arsenal? I wanted us to keep him to use as a winger when Van Gaal eventually succumbs to using 433 but I have to say, he would never have made it as a striker...just look at "that" lob attempt vs Neure against Bayern when he was told before the match to finish low against him

I will definitely not be buying unless he becomes a Chicharito and keeps getting lucky tap ins!!

Very random one here guys, but I'm looking for advice, would be grateful for some comments. Football related.. Sort of!

Just been offered a 12month deal at Sky for line rental, broadband and Sky Sports package for £38 month. Is that a good deal? I did my blagging best, but unsure if I did a good job or not.

No HD, I didn't think about that. I didn't ask about that or the multi switch thing which enables you to watch different channels in different rooms. Rather embarrassingly, I've never watched footy in HD.. Worth an extra outlay? I'm currently in the no camp on principle, but could be persuaded.

Can't remember exact name for it, but there is a higher spec one that gives you more channels I think. They give them away free every so often if you have been a subscriber for a while, do no harm to ask for one. Check their website to see what it is called

How many transfers am I away from the ideal team long term folks?

    Begovic, Hamer.
    Terry, Jones, Ferdinand, Wisdom, Hutton.
    Hazard, Ramsey, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Albrighton.
    Diego Costa, Agüero, Naismith.

If Jones is fit i'll keep him(decent form plus fixtures, team will only improve), but I agree Rio needs to go, will probably do it GW6 if I have no pressing issue.

Evening Parm. I honestly think Jones is terrible. The way he played tonight going forward etc, loosing the ball it was just a shambles.

He's quite poor on the ball, i'll be first to admit but his defensive actions aren't all bad, he's been much better for United than he was for England tonight though.

Liking your team..Maybe Ferdinand to Pieters @ £5m (fixtures pretty good)
Personally prefer Wellbeck over Naismith and made sure i got him in a few days ago. Naismith seems a popular choice for many though..

Good win for England, that. I think poor old Roy gets unfairly criticized, but nothing new there for an England manager.
Giving youth it's chance and nothing wrong with those substitutions either.

Yeah, England fans sometimes forget that qualifying isn't a "given". You guys do it effortlessly so often. There's a whole other tier of European teams that would snap your hand off for that regularity of qualification.

Sterling is possibly the most interesting player in the prem..as well as one of the best. No doubt about it BR's only picked him two years ago in desperation...he was only 17. He played well for those few months he was in the side despite only returning us FPLers 2pts a week...and then was largely sidelined. Last season he again improved and rose to be a first team player of choice, or be it rotated a bit. So what's my ramble about ?...Does Sterling prove that giving young English player a start very early in their career play dividends in the long term...maybe we should try it a bit more often...

      • 12 Years

But Sterling was an exceptional player before he started playing. I knew about Sterling when he was playing in Liverpool's youth team. I understand your point, but he only played because he was good enough. I think we should focus on better coaching at the younger level, rather than squeezing in subpar players at 17 or 18.

      1. Dr Dream
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 10 months ago

I read of several exceptional players at that age...they usually get their break at about 19 or so..not 17...my point is would that two year difference be better for our younger players...I don't know if it is or not but I'm just raising it.

I think your opinion is the opinion of most people, and Jeff Stelling wrote a piece on it last week. I just think England isnt producing players because of poor coaching for kids. How many 17 year olds are good enough to start in the PL? Not many at all. It's tinkering with the end instead of starting with the root. IMO.

Against Arsenal he was the deepest of the 4 full backs.
Against Chelsea, he was again deeper than Baines. Fair enough he was very high up, but chelsea invited them on.

He conceded 8 goals in those 2 games.
      He costs 7m.

Just seen the England score. I presume the Welbeck express has already taken off in full force 'round these parts?

      It's insufferable.

the thing which this match actually changed for me was making me consider keeping rooney. his touch was back on tonight

3 or 4. created a lot too. a bit of un-ideal assist the assist action thrown in too. overall though his touch was back and he didn't look slow

A few. Created a few opportunities, first goal wouldn't of happened without him. Decent game.

Hmmm. He is the obvious choice for the armband but I swore after Burnley game wouldn't go there again. Gonna be a late fro night job.
