I wonder if the international break before gw4 is the worst time to use thw wc. Perceptions are skewed enough after a team or a player has a good gw3... By the time two weeks are up, all people remember is gw3. Begovic/Shawcross, Moreno, Zaha, Janmaat and many others all seem to have been added by many around here after a solid gw3... They may not be as bad as gw4, but they are not as good as gw3 may have suggested.
Delaying the wc at least allows for a larger sample size... but that only helps if you can keep a clear enough head to account for the inherent bias towards overweighting the most recent gw.Last paragraph nails it. True of any GW, although obviously an international break tends to exagerrate it.
