As we mentioned previously, we’re joining forces with Fantasy iTeam (FiT) for this season’s Champions League campaign. Having supported their popular World Cup game, we’ve teaming up once again to cover Europe’s elite club competition, which gets underway later tonight.

A free Fantasy football app, FiT is available on a number of mobile devices, including iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. It’s free to download and play, so you can already go in and start drafting up your starting XI, with unlimited transfers right up until 10 minutes before this evening’s kick-off.

We’ll be supporting FiT throughout the competition and have an official Fantasy Football Scout League, with an iPad mini available to the winner. There’s also a VIP European Match Day Experience for two on offer for the overall winner of the Fantasy iTeam Champions League game.

Having rolled out a Rule Guide and taken a look at some of the best budget options in the player price list, we now get to grips with the upcoming schedule and offer five player tips for both Tuesday and Wednesday’s matches.

Tuesday

Semih Kaya offers a budget-friendly route into the Galatasaray defence ahead of a plum home tie with Anderlecht. The hosts have served up a clean sheet in each of their last four matches in all competitions and at a price of just 5.1, Kaya is the cheapest option amongst their defensive regulars.

Rested to the bench for Saturday’s disastrous home loss to Villa, Raheem Sterling’s presence was sorely missed. The youngster is set to start for Liverpool this time around as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to bounce back and rack up a home win against Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets – with two goals in three starts so far, Sterling’s 6.8 price tag looks a bargain.

Beaten by bitter rivals Atletico last weekend, defending champions Real Madrid have the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways. A home encounter with Swiss side Basel looks promising for Carlo Ancelotti’s troops and at a price of 7.8, Gareth Bale is a relatively budget friendly option for those looking to double up with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atletico’s Raul Garcia will be hoping to replicate the form which saw him serve up four goals and three assists in last year’s Champions League run. Diego Simeone’s troops face a testing trip to Greek side Olympiacos but, as mentioned, could barely arrive in better form after emerging victorious from the Bernabeu – available for 7.1, Garcia looks a real alternative to those unwilling to splash the cash on the likes of Mario Mandzukic (9.4) up top.

Our final punt for this evening’s fixtures is Juventus youngster Kingsley Coman. Classified as a midfielder – and available for a mere 5.9 – he was fielded as the lone striker for the Old Lady’s opening league fixture and left the pitch to a standing ovation. If he is afforded a start tonight, Coman could be worth a real flutter at home to Swedish side Malmo – luckily, with the FantasyiTeam game allowing us to make alterations to our sides up to 10 minutes before kick-off, we can monitor the team sheets before weighing up his acquisition.

Wednesday

A home clash with Schalke offers Chelsea the chance to kick-start their European campaign with a win. Andre Schurrle’s eye for goal has already came to fruition domestically this term and, available for just 6.6, the German looks a real mid-price contender for our midfields as Jose Mourinho’s free-scoring side look to rack up the goals again.

Barcelona’s new teenage sensation Munir el Haddadi looks one to consider ahead of a home clash with APOEL. Setting you back just 7.5, the youngster has started all three of his side’s league matches so far and has found the net once – he’s a definite double-up option for those already considering the obvious options such as Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Jackson Martinez has been in red hot form for Porto already this term. The 7.7 priced striker has netted five times in four appearances for the Portuguese outfit and with a home encounter against BATE Borisov up next, could be a great value option for our front lines.

A goal and assist in his first two league appearances brings Roma’s Radja Nainggolan into consideration. Coming in at a mere 5.8, the Belgian has excelled on the left of midfield in a 4-3-3 for the Serie A side and offers Fantasy managers a real budget friendly option at home to CSKA.

Defeated by Barcelona at the weekend, Athletic Bilbao will be looking for Aritz Aduriz to make the difference at home to Shakhtar Donetsk tomorrow. The prolific frontman has been handed a very reasonable 6.8 price tag in the FantasyiTeam game and, with 30 goals and 13 assists in his previous two La Liga campaigns, his contribution looks key for the Spanish side.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT LEAGUE

We’ve already set up an official Fantasy Football Scout league for you to join, with an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

I think Martinez could do quite well in his group, but I guess this is the thing about UCL, there are many many different players / combinations, all of which are viable.

How would other United supporters feel if Ronaldo did actually come back next season?

It probably wouldn't impact our ability to make other signings given the whole 'legend returning' aspect which would allow a pretty quick recouping of the fee through shirt sales and endorsements, so as long as it doesn't stop us from buying a world class CB and perhaps a world class CM, where does that leave everyone?

He's the best/2nd best player in the world and even though he'll be 30, his dedication to fitness and health means that he probably has another 6 years in the game (as long as he can shake off the tendinitis). People say he's the past and we should move on, but why turn your back on one of the best players in the world (who clearly still loves the club) just because they used to play for us?

I think this is much more than just a silly internet rumor to be honest and that money isn't even a factor anymore (if Real were to offer him a wage increase) and that the only thing that might keep him there is if Perez is fired (due to his public dissatisfaction with the selling of players over the last couple years).

I, for one, would welcome him with open arms, to be honest..and I know there are others staunchly on both sides of the fence.

As an Arsenal fan, I'd welcome him back to the Premier League without a doubt.. One of the type of players you really don't want to lose to teams abroad no matter who they play for. It's not quite the same without seeing him on the TV on a Saturday or Sunday.

            misattributing a stupid Blatter quote

and money spent on this is irrelevant, would be the easiest recouping ever and wouldn't impact other purchases

fair enough I'm wrong, but I'll never hold it against a footballer for looking out for number one, sport careers are short. he's shown nothing but respect since then and still looks at Fergie like a father figure. long gone are the sentimental days where someone wants to play for one club and only that club his whole career and I think some just haven't moved past that

and you don't think having the best/2nd best player in the world wouldn't pay off on the pitch? 😆

He's nearly 30. He won't be at that level for long. Reus if we're going that route or preferably just bite the bullet and buy Pogba back. He would improve us much more for much longer.

Ronaldo will play for another 6 years and adding him wouldn't impact our ability to pursue other players (unless you're specifically looking at Reus who has had plenty of injury concerns, despite being a class player).

United claim that they have 700 million fans worldwide.

Let's say that that's true and that 0.25% of them buy a legitimate jersey at £60, that still comes out to £105m and that's not even factoring in people who just like Ronaldo but aren't necessarily United fans.

It's also not factoring in the slew of extra sponsors we would line up who want to be associated with Ronaldo.

I'm just justifying the fact that the money is irrelevant. Your negativity aside, he would improve us and it wouldn't be in spite of other improvements.

Also Arsenal will never sell us Ramsey.

And of course not, just like they wouldn't sell us RvP. If we tabled an offer of 50m quid, the Arse board would eat each other.

as much as i love ronaldo and would welcome him home i cant help feeling it would seriously further hinder januzajs development and if that was to be the case i would be strongly against it...

ronaldo developed at united from a teenager to the best player in the world and i believe januzaj has the potential to do just that...

its easy to forget that januzaj was the highlight of a dismal season for us last year and while i would be wary of burning him out by playing him every week he should be starting alot more games this year imo..

ronaldo coming back would i think be awful for januzajs development and he would then be off to one of europes other top clubs much like pogba .. that we cant afford

it's also possible that LVG chooses to move on from Rooney and RVP and plays Ronaldo up top with Falcao or that Falcao doesn't work out and he pairs Rooney and Ronaldo..I know he's a LW and likes to cut in, but he's a tall, strong, fast goalscorer at heart..

but I agree I would be hesitant if it hindered Januzaj

ronnie could play at centre forward with his eyes closed no doubt and in his later years i dare say he will play there but if we were in a situation where next season we had ronaldo falcao rooney and rvp then we would have forked out the guts of 100 million for 2 players near enough 30 years of age in ronnie and falcao and our 2 back ups would be 30 or over aswell...

          not liking that scenario mate

the kid james wilson aswell looks to have scary potential and id very much like to see him develop into a top player with us

I think this is RVP's last season with us and Falcao is still only a loan (though will likely be perm unless his knee acts up).

Agree would like to see Wilson progress because he's a lethal finisher and looks the part but he's not ready now to take the reins so we shouldn't hamper our ability to compete on all fronts in order to look out for the youth.
