Abel Hernandez and Mo Diame net on their Hull debut in a pulsating 2-2 home draw with West Ham. Enner Valencia strikes on his first start for the Hammers, while James Chester remains on the bench after Steve Bruce shifts to a four-man defence.

Tigers New Boys in the Goals
Steve Bruce handed deadline-day buys Mo Diame and Abel Hernandez their debuts for last night’s encounter and was rewarded after the new boys bagged a goal apiece. Diame’s introduction saw Jake Livermore shift to the right flank as the Tigers boss opted for a 4-4-2, while Hernandez joined Nikica Jelavic up front, with Tom Ince – who had previously been fielded alongside the Croatian, dropping out of the matchday squad altogether. Hernandez’ opener certainly suggests he could prove to be an inspired signing by Bruce but with City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the next five, few will be looking to invest in Hull right now.

Chester Benched as Bruce Shifts Formation
After starting the first three matches with a 3-5-2 system, Bruce’s decision to opt for a four-man defence left James Chester’s Fantasy owners with a dilemma. Granted, the Hull boss switched tactics on a number of occasions last season but if he continues with a back-four, the 5%-owned Chester may struggle to climb ahead of Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson in the pecking order. Going on Bruce’s team sheets so far, then, left-back Andrew Robertson, at 4.5, seems the safest budget route into the Hull defence.

Valencia Helps Hammers to a Point
After playing just 22 minutes in the opening three Gameweeks, the Ecuadorian netted a superb long-range effort on his first start of the season. Sam Allardyce fielded all three of his new forwards together for the first time and altered his tactical approach, as the visitors lined up in a 4-3-1-2 formation with Mauro Zarate tucking in behind Valencia and Diafra Sakho. While their two-goal haul will please the Hammers boss, his side have now failed to keep a clean sheet as he goes on the attack – with Liverpool and United next, defensive returns look hard to come by.

    Howdy,

Currently working on a WC team…if I had to let it go, what would you do here…

    1. Which keeper would you choose: McGregor or Forster?
    * I'm thinking Forster but that rotation bug keeps buzzing around McGregor.

    2. Naismith or Welbeck?
    * I'm thinking Naismith this week and Welbeck to follow after or just go Welbeck now and leave it?

    Thanks

neither. Forster would be my WC GK now

Neither again. Pelle/Ade with looking to switch to Welbeck if he and or when Arsenal's fixtures improve in a couple of weeks

Yes, Forster is what I said…thanks for the reply though. I won't have the funds for Pelle or Ade unless I sell Stirling for someone cheaper or lose Ivan (and I just got him so am keen to have him for the next little while - regardless of fixtures and such).

Forster and Wellbeck - I can't see the return of Etoó being good for Naismith

    My team is:
    Begovic McCarthy
    Ivanovic Moreno Clyne PvA Moore
    Sigurdsson Fabregas Sterling Ramsey Zaha
    Rooney Costa Naismith

£0 ITB. Should I save FT this week?

I want to get Di Maria in for Ramsey but would need to raise funds somewhere for a 4pt hit

If your second transfer (to free up cash) gives you additional budget to cover any potential rise in value then yes, wait. If not, and you're dead keen on ADM, then do it…

What are your thoughts on Ivanovic to Evans (5.4m) or even Chambers (4.5m) now that Debuchy is injured, which would free up more than enough cash? Then next GW I could potentially do Ramsey to ADM, or Naismith to Welbeck?

Well…I can't confirm this but picking up noise on a Chambers health issue. Not sure if that was a wind-up or…so would hang tight on him as an option…but seems fair otherwise. I would not go with Evans. He has been really poor I feel.

Everything you want to do is perhaps just a game week or 2 pre-mature. I'm in the same boat though…so I can't give you much direction. I have the same questions really.

if I was wildcarding now I wouldn't really want Ivan...but your whole plan of ramsey to adm seems like switching a great player to one who might be great...I'm not dead against it but I'd not want to weaken my team somewhere else or take a hit

    A: Heaton + 4.0 GK + Bertrand + Mirallas (already have Clyne)

    or

B: Heaton + Forster + Jagielka + Chadli (already have Clyne)

Note: On WC and will be two SOT in defense regardless.

I see a lot of folks plumping for United defenders at the moment. Am I missing something? QPR hardly threatened on Sunday and previously they were struggling to keep the ball out of the net. I'm possibly looking to draft in Rafael for a short while but I need some convincing.

    Hi geezers!

What would you do with this mess?

    Krul
Clyne van Aanholt Caulker (Dummett Moore)
    Mata Eriksen Sigurdsson Ramsey (Marney)
    Rooney Welbeck RVP

    Bank - 1.8

    A) Mata > Cesc
    B) RVP > Kun
    C) Save FT
    D) Something else

Tempted to go A as I can see Cesc being a consistent point scorer. Also, not really in a rush to get Kun/Costa over RVP/Rooney. Surely the better fixture has got to count for something?

    Thoughts please?

I was banking on it when I got him in GW2. I don't know why but I somehow feel he just needs a goal or two and he's going to explode like the RVP of old.

I'm thinking Hector Bellerin might work his way ahead of Chambers in the pecking order (especially if the latter has Tonsillitis). Fastest Arsenal player ever over 40m sprint, looked great in preseason with an eye-catching display against Benfica and could get a run out in the Champions league tonight. Food for thought perhaps @ 4.4m? Possibly.

also Chambers is meant to be CB cover.. if he gets injured playing RB then Koscielny and Mertesacker have no cover for their injuries 😯 .. makes sense starting Bellerin and keeping chambers in cotton wool to replace the injury doubt that is koscielny

        Not sure how that works.

Mert/Kosc and Chambers would have to be injured for there to be trouble.

Would be the same result as Mert/Kosc + Bellerin only for Bellerin + CB to get injured. Unless you think Chambers is more injury prone than Bellerin?

cant see him starting for an extended period ahead of chambers - but may very well have to if chambers is occupied at centre-back...

Very possible. He's a good young player by all accounts, I doubt there's that much in it between him and Chambers at right back. They could well be rotated, like Gibbs and Monreal on the left, to avoid Chambers burn out - that would leave them in a pretty disastrous spot at centre back.

am I correct in saying that Bellerin has only played one League Cup match?...I think Chambers will play RB once he's fit...he's an expensive signing...he played there for Saints...Wenger isn't going to bench Chambers on the off chance he gets two injuries to Mert-Kosc-Chamb in a situation where he doesn't have an experienced RB or LB

    Throw any suggestions at me!

Might seem a strange question but here goes:

Who would you rather have this week only?

    A. Ulloa
    B. Duff

      Duff

Duff has more chance getting a CS then Ulloa has scoring for sure.

Who should I drop this GW out of Fabregas (MCI, A), Di Maria (LEI, A), Siggy (SOU, H), Ramsey (AVL,A), Sterling (WHU, A), Aguero (CHE, H), Diego Costa (MCI, A), Naismith (CRY, H)?

Obviously Naismith looks the weakest but he's against Crystal Palace at home so I am unsure on how to proceed. Opinions?

Guys stupid question, who does Amat and Aarons injuries benefit?

    1. Ludo
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 5 months ago

Amat surely means Federico Fernandez will come into the side at centre back. Aarons... not sure it'll change anything, he'd only made a couple of sub appearances.

    2. Aaron Ramessi - Straya
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 5 months ago

Aarons was a bench player, so just less competition for Cabella, Sissoko etc...

Amat out gives Fernandez a place in the team 🙂

Fernandez for Swansea and nobody really with Aarons.

Not sure benefit is the right word, but makes Gouffran nailed on again.

      Fernandez will surely replace Amat.

Would you guys do the following transfers if you had to opportunity to:

    Krul to Heaton
    Foster to Forster
    Chester to Duff
    Colo to Bertrand
    JWP to Marney
    Naismith to Welbeck

I'm hating my keepers right now, Newcastle are a let down and Chester not starting is not cool. The JWP to Marney move is purely for funds. Naismith to Welbeck…it's an either or for me…I can't afford Pelle and think Welbeck could come good in the next few…

I need a little help with this UCL team:

    Moya Obradovic
    Cahill Moreno Durm Memba Evra
Kroos Fabregas Texeira Brahimi Do Nasciemento
    Ibra Cr7 Messi

    0.0 ITB

How can this team be improved? I am thinking of upgrading Texeira to Kagawa and downgrading Brahimi or Cesc. Is that good?
