The Dugout Discussion – QPR vs Stoke

European football ravages Saturday’s programme, leaving us with just half a dozen encounters. The day’s events start with what, on paper, looks a tepid affair: Stoke pay visit to Loftus Road to meet with Harry Redknapp’s newly promoted QPR.

Let’s not dress this up – Fantasy managers are likely to have little or no interest in this one. Having been disappointed by the impact of Bojan after his pre-season hype, we’ve steered clear of Mark Hughes’ Potters, bar skipper Ryan Shawcross who has a place in almost 15% of Fantasy Premier League lineups. As for the R’s, only defender Steven Caulker can boast respectable ownership – indicating that a classic 0-0 stalemate will be the result of choice for many.

The early kick-off takes us into four afternoon clashes, before the day is rounded off with Liverpool’s trip to Upton Park at tea-time. As always, you can look to our Twitter feed for lineup news on that one and all today’s matches.

      Don't be silly, you should play your wildcard when you think there are potential gains to be made in your projected score, not because of some arbitrary measure of rank.

    I have a suggestion for the mods.

    How about a key stats article highlighting specific teams and players performance vs their opponents for that week.

    For example. Welbeck has scored 3 goals in his last 2 matches vs Aston villa

      Was thinking something similar to this actually. Aston Villa's recent record at Anfield is very good and might have helped dissuade the Sterling captainers last week.

    Ah delighted with Begovic's save point. Last i checked in the 80th min he was on 1 save.

    The Kranjcar goal doesn't look so bad now, especially if it takes a bps point away from Caulker

          But that has no bearing on the award of a goal. The only criteria is that the ball was on target when the offensive player last touched it.

          You can't deny it fulfils that criteria, nor can you deny that that criteria exist, therefore you cannot deny that it is a Caulker goal.
