Our problem is not our back 4, it is our system that has a midfield that offers ZERO protection. Lovren and Sakho are world class defenders for their countries because they have optimal protection from the midfield...Gerrard is literally the worst CDM as far as defence goes in the Prem, he's just not a defender, never has been and never will be, but its not his fault that Rodgers makes him play there. Also, Mignolet is just awful. So we in essence employ a system witch offers little defensive cover behind or in front of our back 4 and that is contributing to huge defensive liabilities. Not to mention that we seemed to be adopting an ancient form of football where we pass between our back 4 a thousand times and either hurl a long ball into the box or swing it out to Moreno or Manquillo for a cross into the box...its absurd that West Ham was playing like we should be and we were playing like West Ham usually does. Rodgers is a brilliant manager but this is leaving a negative mark on him as he is either unwilling or unable to change these silly tactics.
