Our first members article of the week delves into the data of the nine matches played out so far. A number of forwards come under assessment this evening, with Liverpool, United and West Ham’s new frontmen all analysed, whilst we also take a look at City’s resurgent Bosnian, Chelsea’s midfield and Swansea’s worrying lack of impact in the final third.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Clyne and Bertrand are interchangeable imo all year. Bertrand this/one week. Clyne next. Bertrand. Clyne etc etc

        Both solid a.t.m

Probably. Stats are in favour of Bertrand thus far, but not by a country mile. I went with Bertrand cus he was cheaper at the time and had better stats, but it looks to be close.

i like Ulloa captain, great pick. He'll be my VC but I still fancy Costa to score at least one against Arsenal. Tight call though.

    DDG (myhill)
Caulker - Clyne - Chester (wisdom - moore)
Sterling - Hazard - siggy - Ramsey (boyd)
    Rooney - Balo - Welbeck

    Worth a WC?

so many players i need to get rid of:
    -Chester
    -Wisdom
    -Caulker
    -Ramsey
    -Rooney

The thing you have to consider is ; can you put out a decent team with 1 or 2 transfers. If yes, then dont wc. If no, then consider it.

    Risers: Bertrand Sterling
Fallers: Anderson D Johnson Giroud Mayuka Tiendalli Cazorla Ferreyra Buckley

Nice to see Sterling go up, that's another 0.1 to my TV 🙂

Could have left the Ramsey>Downing trade another day though. I've also come to the conclusion that Caulker must have naked pictures of someone at FPL Towers to not have fallen yet

Finally got rid of a few highly owned players. Feels less boring

    Ramsey (34.7%) -> Tadic (2.5%)

feel like my hand was forced with ramsey and rooney and don't like it

This is the reason I try to keep a strong squad rather than the Boyd's and Albrighton's. I'll have plenty of bench points most likely, but I could easily have absorbed Ramsey's injury this GW... in truth I would have benched him at Chelsea anyways 🙂

Any comments on my GW7 team?

    Begovic (sun)
Clyne (tot), Lovren (WBA), Taylor (NEW)
Siggy (NEW), Sterling (WBA), Fabregas (ARS), Downing (QPR)
Costa(c) (ARS), Pelle (tot), Ulloa(vc) (BUR)

    - Subs: Krul(swa) // Tadic (tot), Chambers (che), (Wisdom(liv)).
    - 6.8itb

The team picks itself really, though benching Tadic isn't ideal.

I see. Well, if you`ve seen all Chelsea games (not just highlights) and thought that Cesc was playing further up the pitch, then there`s no reason to panic, cus his starting position is still pretty much the same. 🙂

Not a big worry. He'll get near enough to the box to assist most games anyways. plus he takes corners and has Costa, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic, Matic, etc to aim for...

He`s still Fabregas even if his original position is at the centre of midfield. Matic holds while Fabregas drifts around. He`s just down there to dictate the play as he has way more capabilities in that department than any of his peers. And he`s not really quick enough to play further up the pitch. Atleast that`s what i think Mourinho`s thinking.

My frontline is Ulloa-Costa-Pelle. I'm a fan of Ulloa, he's on form, the main man so nailed on to start every game, fixture proof, benchable due to price, and has great fixtures for the next few. Great option.

If Sturridge hits the ground running I may do Ulloa>Sturridge if money itb allows in order to get another captain option, but Ulloa is a great pick for that money.

Clyne. But Bertrand is slightly cheaper and there's not much in it. Both are great picks.

I'd have Forster if I didn't have 3 SOU players already. Foster seems to be a solid pick, as does Mannone. Check the ticker if they rotate though. I'm sticking with Begovic/Krul until Christmas unless i need 0.5 to facilitate something else.

You'd have to think with the fixtures they have that Dyche has got to try and pick up points in the next 4-5 matches. Means they'll have to find a way to score some goals which the prevailing wisdom seems to be the attack will come at the expense of defensive solidity. I'm a Heaton owner myself and feel we probably have seen the last of the CS there. Certainly away from Turf Moor.

I disagree. Their best chance of winning a game isn't to open up and outscore teams in open games. Its keeping it tight, making no mistakes, and scoring on their few chances. Their template win would be like at Palace a couple of weeks back, but scoring the penalty to win 1-0.

I`m with this guy. Bottom teams won`t just all of the sudden start bombing forward and going for broke in games if they haven`t already. I can`t see Burnley becoming a full out attacking side, more like trying to go back to their ways of solid structure and grind out the points.

ADM stats are decent - looks a threat. if you're keen, do it - I expect him to rise more if he keeps returning. I personally think Rambo's going to be quiet for a while now, playing deep when he returns, whereas ADM is enough utd cover for my money.

I think there's much better value to be had. 9.9 and rising for a midfielder is a lot, especially when his fixtures get really tough soon.

If you're looking short-term, look no further than Downing: QPR and burnley next two games, and he's only 5.6.

ADM looks, as you would expect, to be absolutely magnificent. As a FPL option though, im still not sure if hes worth it. Rooneys suspension might me good for him in a sense. Anyways keeping for now, probably getting rid once they hit the run of tougher fixtures as i think United is just shaite and will struggle against better opposition

Downing has some good chances created stats, and is a different beast to last season. Wanyama's hardly a decent bet, and kind of ruins your Soton party. For one game though, I wouldn't do it - play Clyne/PVA/Moore/Duff, then three in the middle and three up top. Swap out Rambo next week.

downing has great stats, and his next two fixtures are perfect. Great short-term solution who you can bench after that if you want. Nailed on to start as West Ham's most attacking midfielder and on set pieces for a great aerial side is great.

    A. Is it a good idea to double up ivanovic and baines in GW 8?
    B. Tadic or Pelle? Or double up?
    C. The best combination of 5th midfielder and 3rd striker OR 4th midfielder and 5th midfielder (depend on preferred formation)?

A Depends what it does to your team
      B Pelle or both
C Too many variables to answer

      A) Not sure why it matters, they aren't facing each other? Palace vs. Chelsea, Everton vs. Villa.
      B) Depends on your other mids, but both are solid options. Think Pelle is better points return currently, but Tadic could explode soon.
      C) Unsure how to answer this one?

    3. Sparrer

      A. Possibly
      B. Both, ATM. Pelle if only one.
      C. Boyd, Welbeck/Ulloa; Chadli, Siggy.

      A) Generally thats too much money in defence and would leave you weak in other areas
      B) Depending on the rest of your team i`d say atleast Pellè and Tadic if you want to upgrade somewhere else
      C) This is way to complex to answer and is something that you`ll have to find out for yourself

    0.0 ITB , 1 FT

    a) Ramsey to tadic
    b) Ramsey to downing
    c) Ramsey to downing and Bruce to Baines/Ivanovic for -4 ? ( only left 3 defenders on next GW)

    Thanks.

No reason wondering "IF" when its not going to happen. Mourinho has blatantly stated that Costa can only play ONE game per week, and at this point isnt even training between games, simply resting and doing recovery work.

Not sure getting extra Liverpool is the way to go, as poorly as we`re playing atm. Definitely not Gerrard though, he`s essentially a centreback that`s on pens and some set pieces.

    DDG
    Wisdom-Caulker-Ivan-Debuchy-Moore
    ADM-Fabs-Siggy-Sterling-Albrighton
    Roon-Costa-Neismith

1.Getting rid of Debuchy is not my main priority now since i have three set defenders.
    2. Will get rid of Rooney for sure. thinking about Kun or Pelle
    3. I usually play 3-4-3 and i also want to get rid of Neismith.
    4. Have 2 FTs and Wildcard.

Please suggest some ideas people. will be really helpful.

you still have debuchy? if anything he's your priority as his value is only gonna keep dropping. there'll never be a good time to do it but might as well do it sooner rather than later, especially with 2ft's.

I see. I was very tempted to do Pelle & Dzeko for Rooney & Neismith.

Wisdom cannot play this week against Liverpool due to loan restrictions.
Debuchy is out for three months.
Caulker has a tough away fixture at West Ham, who seem to be scoring for fun.
Rooney is banned for three matches.

Unsure that Naismith is your biggest concern really.

Would be using those 2 FT's to get rid of Debuchy and Rooney to save your team value if they keep being removed.

Perhaps Rooney & Debuchy for Pelle and Bertrand/N.Taylor.

S'hampton have been playing very well and have some pretty good fixtures coming up after the match against Spurs, whom they might get a result against anyway.

I would suggest a defender from their team - think Clyne/Bertrand, along with Pelle up front.

Ask yourself, what changes would you make if on WC? In defence, you will change Bruce and Ivan. Midfield maybe Hazard, Sigurdsson and Elmohamady. Just for 5 moves out of which some can be delayed, I wont WC. Couple of hits and you will be fine 🙂
