Granville’s lackadaisical approach to the new campaign might just explain why he’s treading water. Missing deadlines and price rises, my ScoutCast co-host badly needs to introduce some organisation into his season if he’s to keep pace – the man needs a PA – get your applications in.

With Granville floundering, I’ve decided to lay down my Wildcard to potential rub further salt into his wounds. Is it a chronic case of “jerky knee”? Granville certainly thinks (hopes) so.

We chat over my Wildcard revolution, analyse how the heavy-hitting midfielders are failing to pull their weight and rinse through the usual regulars in the same disorganised fashion.

        Got him in after 3 in 3 but didn't leave themselves with an exit strategy or didn't feel it was a priority. It's madness considering how many decent options have emerged.

    After a lot of thought, I have decided to bench Baines this week and play Pva over him.

    Playing Baines means hoping for just attacking returns which should not be the first priority when deciding which defender to play. Pva has a nice home fixture and also has the potential to get some attacking return.

    Also, Stoke haven't been prolific by any stretch of imagination and United look like they'll score a couple with the way Everton have been playing so far which means a straight -1 pt for Baines and if he doesn't get a penalty, he'll end up on 1 pt.

          It's pretty similar to the Ramsey case. Last year he was dirt cheap so nobody even considered him for captaincy but now when he is 9.0m, many have thrown the arm band his way.

          My point is price is yes good players are priced higher but sometimes we should overlook the price and play the player we think will get more points on a particular day

        thanks - I think my strategy will be to keep Downing for this and possibly next GW, then do a swap. A bit concerned I'm missing the AdM train, but of course other proven options like Silva, or maybe Herrera will turn out to be the man. Also looking to do Terry-> Baines or Ivan at some point if funds allow.

      My initial feeling was that you need a heavy defender which you can play weekly and alternate your ubers around.

      Terry or Azpi fits the bill. Chester needs booting but how you raise the cash is a minefield.

        Not so sure.

        Jedinak is playing a more attacking role in a central 3 midfield and is playing the "Pirlo" role. He also has 2 goals in 2.

        Welbeck has Chelsea and I cannot see him scoring.

      Their defense was solid statistically, too, though in terms of not conceding shots & big chances. I reckon Jones & Marney being out hurt them last week and can probably hurt them this week. Not a lot of quality in front of the back four...
