As always on a Friday lunchtime, we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. Below we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

This weekend there is a £1,000 Guaranteed Pot on offer at PlayON where you can enter up to three different teams into the game.

Goalkeeper – Steve Harper
Hull’s back-up keeper is set to earn his first start of the campaign after Allan McGregor was ruled out for a month with a shoulder injury. Coming in at only 6.9m, Harper looks a great budget option as the Tigers play Hull host to Crystal Palace tomorrow afternoon, with save points likely to heighten his points potential. West Ham will be hoping for a first clean sheet of the season this weekend at home to Queens Park Rangers. Sam Allardyce’s side have been untypically porous so far and their backline options are subsequently priced on the kind side – Adrian is available for just 7.6m and faces an attack that has scored just once on their travels to date.

Defender – Alberto Moreno
The Liverpool left-back is our defensive punt for the weekend, ahead of a home encounter with West Brom. Rested for the midweek trip to FC Basel, Moreno – who sets you back just 8.1m – is set to return to the Reds’ starting XI and, although his side are still struggling for clean sheets, the Baggies have scored just one away goal this season. Moreno’s raids down the flank could make the investment worthwhile alone, as he goes in search of a second league goal in six appearances. At only 7.1m, Neil Taylor looks an absolute steal for Swansea’s home clash with Newcastle. The home side have conceded just once in front of their own fans, whilst the Magpies have drawn blanks in all three road trips, suggesting a clean sheet could be on the cards. Taylor’s recent assist against Chelsea also underlines his potential at both ends of the pitch.

Midfielder – Will Buckley
Handed his first full 90 minutes for Sunderland last week, the summer signing from Brighton looks set to retain his role after impressing manager Gus Poyet. After scoring 19 in 96 appearances for Brighton, Buckley will be keen to get his first goal in the top flight as the Black Cats entertain Stoke and, at just 7.7m in PlayON this week, the winger also allows funds to be utilised elsewhere in the team. David Silva is our essential midfield pick. The City playmaker reminded us of his ability by serving up a pair of assists at Hull last weekend and with a trip to Villa up next for the champions, the Spaniard – who costs 10.3m – offers an in-form route into Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Forward – Diafra Sakho
The West Ham striker has now scored in each of his last four starts across all competitions, including recent strikes against Liverpool and Man United. With the Hammers welcoming a QPR side that have conceded 10 times in three away matches this season, Sakho could be amongst the goals yet again for Big Sam’s side and looks excellent value at just 9.4m.Leicester’s home clash with Burnley brings Leonardo Ulloa into contention. The Argentine has netted five times in six appearances for the Championship winners and, crucially, has scored in every home fixture – coming in at 10.5m, he’ll fancy his chances against a backline that shipped four goals to West Brom last Sunday afternoon.

Head over to www.playon.co and get picking ahead of the 10.45am deadline tomorrow morning.

Gonna go with Lukaku for 4 games for Rooney in UFPL.

Are your injuries stacking up? If not I'd probably just bench Rooney, not sure these loans are worthwhile.

        Yeah I've a few alright.
Thing is Lukaku will def get me 6 back just for starting and if he gets 1 goal in 4 games it'll make it work out. Might as well go 4 for 10 instead of 3 for 9. Means Rooney will be back in for Palace at home rather than City away.

That makes sense actually. It's just with such big squads and no price drops to worry about, I'm going to try to avoid them altogether. I'm lucky though as I don't have many flagged.

Hey guys, what on earth could I do to get rid of Rooney?

    Krul - Myhill
    Cahill - Clyne - Wisdom - Dummett - Bruce
Hazard - Di Maria - Sterling - Sigurdsson - Marney
    Costa - Rooney - Pellè

    1FT and 0.0m ITB

Given International Break next week, for one week (at least), I was thinking of Rooney ---> Dzeko?

Get Welbeck. But expect him to blank against Chelsea

        11 years, 10 months ago

why on earth would he get Welbeck for 1 week against Chelsea?

makes more sense to get someone for 1 week and use FT for Welbeck next week :\

What If he has a more pressing issue? Welbeck is good long term, Whats the point of doing that?

Should I transfer out Fabregas to someone like Downing this week because he has a hard fixture and then bring him back the following week? That's madness

    2. Fader

I honestly think your best 2 options are Dzeko or Sakho.

Sakho has scored 4 in 4 and West Ham are at home to QPR. Dzeko scored 2 and will partner Aguero but Jovetic will get some time near the end so one of those will come off...

Anyone else I think is abit punty (as you can't afford Aguero)

Tough to say, typically you want to make transfers for long term prospects. Ulloa could be good considering his form and next game against Burnley.

    1) Captaincy
    a) Costa
    b) Aguero
    c) ADM
    d) Sterling
    e) Siggy

I wasn't planning on WCing after this gameweek, but all this talk of Ivanovic and Baines has got me thinking. What do you think of this as a WC team?

    Mannone / Foster
    Ivanovic / Bertrand / Baines / Hutton / Wisdom
    Marney / Sterling / Sigurdsson / Fábregas / Silva
Welbeck / Diego Costa / Pellè

    £0.1m in the bank.

    Players out:
    Krul
    Coloccini
    Clyne
    Moreno
    Di María
    Balotelli

              Thanks Hat.

A bit more playing gives me:

              Mannone / Foster
              Ivanovic / Chambers / Hutton / Baines / Wisdom
Boyd / Sterling / Sigurdsson / Fábregas / Di María
Welbeck / Diego Costa / Pellè

0 FT, £0.0m in the bank.

              which I'm liking a lot.

Why would you get a WC? Your team was ready. Moreno, Di Maria, Balotelli, Clyne could easily bring points this week. Even Krul may give you save points. I would wait. Play your WC when you want to change at least 9 players, you can fix this in 2 GWs with 2 hits most.

Full strength defence apart from Hibbert. Bit weak in midfield.

      You could read this: http://theexecutionersbong.wordpress.com/2014/10/03/tactical-deconstruction-fc-krasnodar-1-1-everton/

But I found it uncharacteristically biased from him (he's usually very balanced). I thought Everton were much, much worse than he makes out.

    Current WC team:

    Mannone (Forster)
    Duff Bertrand Moore
    Siggy Fabregas DiMaria Sterline
    Welbeck Costs Pelle

    Bench: Jedinak Wilson Kelly
    Bank: 2.4m

Still have some cash left over and willing to make some tweaks.
I'd like some city cover in there but Dzeko has been dreadful every time I've brought him in over the past few yrs.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Would you rather have Di Maria or Sanchez? On a wildcard and have .5 spare. Shall I keep it in the bank ready to make the swap once Sanchez looks to be getting more gametime in the league or should i spend it on a playable goalie to rotate with Mannone?

Big fan of Sanchez, Di Maria is obviously not bad himself but would prefer Sanchez. Thoughts?

Sanchez is the most threatening mid in the game...sadly many of Arsenal's mids are pretty damned good as well....Been burned by him these past few weeks so it's actually the other way until he nails a place...Sanchez > somebody else.

If you're swapping out decent defenders for those who won't play / likely never get clean sheets then likely not, hard to say without examples though.

Got to figure out the tradeoff point where you genuinely don't believe the points Aguero should make will cover the points you'll lose from not having the better defenders.

Even if you wanted a differential, I think Sterling or Sig are both too risky for it.
