Our review of Gameweek 7 in the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game brings you the usual info this afternoon. As always, we cast an eye over the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries and the current market trends before taking a look at the Scout team and our plans for Gameweek 8.

Gameweek 7 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players that caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters from last weekend’s fixtures achieving the Man of the Match award (worth an additional five points).

FixtureMoTM
Liverpool vs EvertonAdam Lallana
Chelsea vs Aston VillaCesc Fabregas
Crystal Palace vs LeicesterMile Jedinak
Hull vs Man CityEdin Dzeko
Man United vs West HamPaddy McNair
Southampton vs QPRSadio Mane
Sunderland vs SwanseaWill Buckley
Arsenal vs TottenhamAlex Oxlade-Chamberlain
West Brom vs BurnleySaido Berahino
Stoke vs NewcastlePeter Crouch

Cesc Fabregas, Edin Dzeko and Peter Crouch all picked up their second MoTM award this week and join Lee Cattermole, Raheem Sterling and Diego Costa on two overall. The majority of the other winners here are differentials, to say the least, with Paddy McNair not even available for selection until now. Sadio Mane presents probably the most interesting option – priced at just 5.8m, the Southampton new boy has some excellent upcoming fixtures to take advantage of.

Gameweek 7 Bonus Points

Three goalkeepers achieved bonus points from collecting five or more saves. Hugo Lloris, Tim Howard and Robert Green were the men in question, with Green now leading the way for keepers with six additional points.

In defence, seven players grabbed bonus, four for tackles and three for passes completed – budget option Calum Chambers came closest to getting both missing out by just three completed passes. Liverpool’s Javier Manquillo currently sets the precedent with eight bonus points so far.

In midfield, there were 14 beneficiaries in total: six for tackling and eight for passes. Battler Cheick Tiote picked up passing bonus on his return to the Newcastle first team and was unlucky not to grab tackling too as he missed out by a single challenge. Morgan Schneiderlin leads the way overall with 14 additional points.

Fantasy Football Scout members can access all information regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

The Transfer Trends

Top Transfers Out

NameTeamValue% of Managers
RooneyMan United9.49.75%
RamseyArsenal8.67.20%
NobleWest Ham5.41.99%
MirallasEverton7.11.86%
DebuchyArsenal6.11.82%

Injuries and suspensions have forced the hand of many Fantasy managers with all of the above set to miss out this weekend. Similar to FPL, many owners of Wayne Rooney and Aaron Ramsey will be scouring the stats in a search for a worthwhile replacement.

Top Transfers In

NameTeamValue% of Managers
CostaChelsea9.55.49%
BertrandSouthampton5.14.92%
PelleSouthampton7.44.85%
DzekoMan City8.63.85%
SchneiderlinSouthampton6.63.75%

Southampton’s assets continue to attract suitors with a trio of Ronald Koeman’s players listed in the top five in. Ryan Bertrand, Graziano Pelle and Morgan Schneiderlin all look exceptional value and are in good form ahead of a kind fixture schedule – it’s hard to argue against owning any of them. Joining them are Edin Dzeko and Diego Costa, both forwards delivered the goods last week and again look smart acquisitions for the matches ahead.

ITB: 0.3m
Transfers remaining: 32/40
Last week’s points: 36
Overall points: 355
Rank: 5,957

Notes
A shocker from my team this week, picking up just 36 points and suffering injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Kevin Mirallas and a suspension for Wayne Rooney . Only last week I said I didn’t want to make any more subs for a while in an effort to pace myself but it looks as though I’m going to have to make wholesale changes or continue to drop down the rankings – the plan is to take all three out for Dusan Tadic, Angel di Maria and Diego Costa.

An Eden Hazard captain fail may well have spelled the end for him as well – with Cesc Fabregas rubbing salt in the wound by bagging passing bonus and MoTM, that’s one transfer I will have to do but I’m going to give the Belgian last shot this week ahead of the international break. Christian Eriksen is also on borrowed time after his lackluster performances but I just can’t justify using another swap ahead of a home tie – I’ll likely swap him out for Danny Welbeck, going 3-4-3 next week, or wait a little longer and opt for Theo Walcott if he can get back to fitness soon.

Captain plan
For Saturday, it’s one of Sergio Aguero or Raheem Sterling. I have the luxury of waiting until Friday to do that swap after banking my change from last week – always wise when you’re considering the injury-prone Aguero as your skipper.

On Sunday, I’ll give the armband to one of Di Maria or Costa, with the latter probably the smarter choice for a home clash with Arsenal.

Remember that with the international break next, you can skipper whoever you want on Sunday, safe in the knowledge you can use next week’s ‘blank’ Gameweek to then move the armband onto any player featuring in Saturday’s matches in Gameweek 10.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Once again, we’re running our own Fantasy Football Scout League this season and were currently toping the Private League rankings as per usual. With a £1000 prize to the winner, you’d be mad not to get involved. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8009000.

The Fantasy Football Club

This Friday The Fantasy Football Club show, where you can catch Fenners and Merse at 18:30 SkySports One HD where they will be discussing the upcoming week’s Fantasy Football, quizzing former Leeds and Chelsea defender Michael Duberry and asking him for his #One2Eleven.

Shall I go for Schneiderlin or Tadic, price aside? Or Downing or Puncheon?

      Hello Jose.

With Ivanovic going walk about on a regular basis, and Chelsea conceding three times as many chances on his side of the pitch as Azpis's, how many do you think Sanchez will score ?

        Hi Akbar,

Well Ivanovic loves to to attack but just as important is his defensive game. I think that Eden has to be much more disciplined in his defending in order to contain Alexis and rest assured we will try everything to stop the pacey Chilean.

I don't think Ivan will be given much chance to roam this time around. You should have bought Sanchez, he'd look well on the opposite side to Hazard..missed a trick there Jose...

Ramsey and Rooney to Boyd and Aguero?

    Team is:

    Krul Eliott

    Manquillo Clyne Duff Wisdom Hutton

Ramsey Di Maria Fabregas Dyer Sterling

    Ulloa D. Costa Rooney

Would give me 3.7m in the bank, so enough to upgrade a defender next week to Baines or Ivan. Make sense?

Villa defence on bad form especially with no Vlaar. If they get an early goal could see them getting 3 or 4 and Aguero is very likely to be amongst the goals. If I had him I would consider.

not really. if you add 4 points to rio you get the same as your replacement getting a cleanie

that is if rio gets 2(and the ohter guy keeps a cleanie), he might even end up with more you never know (unlikely though)

but in the process u get rid of dier..which u effectively earn a transfer. not taking the hit means that next week u are still stuck w rio chester and dier.

i would say get in some1 with good fixtures so that at least in the next 6 games u could earn back the hit

I'm in the same boat but just having Falcao is probably differential enough, just get the double Costa + Falcao score rather than trying to be fancy getting double Falcao + Costa.

Which one would you SELL to get Baines in GW8?

    A) TAYLOR
    - £4.6 (could get a rise soon earning me £0.1)
    - next 6 fixtures: sto, LEI, eve, ARS, mci, CPL (would only play him against Leicester and Palace).
    - Swansea's defensive stats aren't very solid, as discussed earlier in the thread.

    B) LOVREN
    - £5.4, could drop 0.1 soon if he doesn't get a CS against WBA.
    - Next 6 fixtures: qpr, HUL, new, CHE, cpl, STO. (Would play him for all apart from CHE).
    - Has great scoring opportunities every game off corners, so a big goal threat.
    - I have 6.8itb so can easily afford the difference - money is no object.

Yeah my eyes will be closely monitoring both defenses this tomorrow, but I just want to prepare myself so I have my thoughts in order to avoid knee-jerks tomorrow evening when time is of the essence. 🙂

Got to be Taylor for me. Liverpool defence will get better soon. Is this next week transfer? You skipped this week fixtures in you next 6.

Thanks. Yeah I meant gw8, so tomorrow afternoon basically.

I'm thinking the same. Lovren has more attacking threat, better fixtures, and IMO a better defense. A good performance from Sturridge could convince me otherwise though!

Rodgers benched him against Villa and payed the price. I don't think he will risk it again.

Falcao as he would have been at Man City 3 years now never suffered a knee injury and is a 100m pound rated player

All my defenders have pretty good fixtures apart from Clyne (but S'hampton defence has looked good and Spurs attack not so much). Which three out of:

    Moreno (WBA H)
    Clyne (Spurs A)
    Taylor (Newcastle H)
    PVA (Stoke H)
    Moore (Burnley H)

Leaning towards Moreno, Taylor and Moore.

I'd play Moreno, Naylor & PVA

Anyone care to have a punt on arsenals attacking line up when everyone is available?

Almost everyone is claiming they will put Walcott straight into their teams after the international break, but surely Sanchez and even Oxlade chamberlain are direct competition, so Walcott isn't going to walk straight back into the team.

That would be my guess as the No1 line up but that's not the same as saying it will happen very often...or often enough for us..

Walcott, Özil, Sánchez behind Welbeck in my opinion.

Seems everyone is in agreement, I thought Sanchez was an out and out right winger, as opposed to a cutting in from the left winger.

I still think Walcott will need a good few games before he's playing 90 minutes regularly.

Nice headache for wenger to have

Yeah, some lovely interplay, exciting times to be an arsenal fan I guess, still think you'll finish third in the end, defence is just not consistence enough

I'm not an Arsenal fan (Blackburn) but I am a fan of good football whoever plays it. Arsenal fans are too hard on their team sometimes, they play some of the best stuff in the prem at times...

have 2 FTs and ought to sell Pieters for a defender I won't play this GW.

A chambers - risk of YC but good otherwise
B wilson - stoke is stoke
C c.dawson - attacking threat but tough next fixture

Resost (posted on article from 2 hours ago accidentally):

Should I be benching Chester this week (CPL)? Other defenders are:

Baines (mun) Caulker (whm) Clyne (tot) and Wisdom (liv)
