Our Saturday morning regular arrives once again as we roll out a trio of overlooked alternatives for your perusal. We turn to West Ham and Leicester’s front men ahead of home clashes with promoted pair QPR and Burnley, whilst Palace’s in-form wide man also comes into consideration as the Eagles head to Hull.

DIAFRA SAKHO

The Hammers forward has hit a real purple patch during his start to life at Upton Park. With Sam Allardyce’s onus on attack this term, Sakho has been quick to benefit and has scored in each of his last four starts across all competitions, with his performance against United last weekend earning him top spot for Threat in our ICT rankings for Gameweek 6.

West Ham face a QPR side this Sunday who have shipped eight goals in their last three fixtures, with Sakho looking the most likely to find the holes in the R’s leaky defence. Despite all this, the former Metz forward’s ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) still resides under 1%, a remarkable figure considering his current form. With Allardyce’s men aiming to build on their previous home victory over Liverpool, and with Stewart Downing still pulling the strings in the middle of the park, Sakho’s goal spree could be set to continue tomorrow afternoon. Bearind in mind The Hammers also square up to Burnley, Stoke and Villa in the following four, the 5.5-priced forward has the platform to deliver further.

JASON PUNCHEON

It’s been a steady outlay from the Crystal Palace winger so far, with three assists and a goal ensuring that he has only blanked in one of five appearances. However, despite this reliability of returns, Puncheon sits in only 3.5% of teams in FPL. Having faced a price drop after his Gameweek 1 red card, he is currently available for just 5.9 and comes up against a Hull side who have conceded ten goals in their last four fixtures and have just lost their first choice keeper Allan McGregor to injury.

Puncheon’s displays towards the end of last season ensured that the midfielder was present in a fair number of managers’ pre-season sides this time round, but his opening weekend dismissal and subsequent one-match suspension naturally saw his ownership diminish. The winger has certainly redeemed himself since then, however, as his underlying stats reveal – 12 chances created is equal with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Dusan Tadic, whilst four shots on target is the joint highest total for any Palace player. Neil Warnock’s men face Hull, West Brom and Sunderland in their next four – all fixtures which could offer Puncheon the opportunity to press home his credentials as one of the best mid-price midfield options around.

JAMIE VARDY

Whilst Leonardo Ulloa has been drafted in by another 136,000 managers this week, Leicester City teammate Vardy has acquired just over 11,000 new owners and currently resides in a mere 1.8% of FPL teams. The former Conference star is available for 5.0, which is 0.9 less than Ulloa, and having started the last two for Nigel Pearson’s outfit, looks set to continue on the left of a front three when The Foxes welcome Burnley later this afternoon.

Vardy’s pace and drive came to fruition in Gameweek 5 as the forward left Man United’s backline in shreds on his way to a 21-point haul. Whilst there is fear his starting berth may suffer after last week’s 2-0 loss to Palace, Vardy’s threat in that match shouldn’t go unnoticed – six touches and two attempts in the opposition penalty box was far superior to Ulloa’s threat in the area. Burnley shipped four goals in their last fixture, and should Vardy carry on that form he has the opportunity to cement his spot as a viable, and more budget friendly, alternative to Ulloa as Leicester embark on an enticing set of fixtures (BUR, new, swa, WBA, sou, SUN).

Lukaku looks like the best option out of the Everton lot...McGeady is definitely one to watch as well.

    http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/6984/

Don't fancy investing 7m into Baines, with no clean sheets. Not worth it with better options at much lower prices. Lukaku can only get better with more performances down the middle as well. It'll be one of Lukaku/McGeady for me, or both. Sanchez can cover Welbeck.

You don't need to cover Welbeck. And Sanchez will still be rotated for a while. And Lukaku will continue playing wide a lot

I don't need to cover Welbeck. Talking about Arsenal "cover", I think it's worth the risk with Sanchez. Surely won't be rotated much more after his performances?

Not what I meant. What I meant was I can't really see them keeping a clean sheet in the coming fixtures, and ATM feel like it might not be wise investing 7m into a defender just for potential assists/goals. Can only see 1 in their next 6 tbh.

Don't worry about Baines' stats - with the corners and his average position itself he'll get around 5 assists + 3 odd goals for the season.

To put into perspective - the 7M you put into Baines is more than what Silva has got you for the last 2 seasons...

They actually kept CSs in the last 2 seasons. He's got 96 points from CS in the last two seasons, plus the bonus that getting the CSs earned him. If they don't get 10+ CSs there's no way he's worth it.

You really should've gone for Routledge. Dyer has had 0 shots in the box and 0 on target in the last 3 weeks. Routy has had 4 in the box.

Dyer can still come good though...just 1 through ball from Siggy, a lightning run down the field and a smart finish, and you have 7 points or more.

      Good luck.

    Right starters and bench orders?

    Sterling - Siggy - Fabregas - ADM

    Sub: Clyne, Moore, Boyd

Unsure to bench Clyne and wonder if Boyd should be last on the bench.

But you have to choose the right time to play Ulloa and Chadli, but you can always play Aguero and expect points. Sometimes, your Ulloa's points might be on bench.

I agree that Kun is quite expensive and eat so much budget though.

Chadli and Ulloa won't rake in the points all year. Aguero will.

I know, I know. Trying to be a wind up whilst conveying a point that Aguero is the most over priced playing in the game. More so than Coleman and I wouldn't touch him if i had 10M itb.

Aguero is a good differential at that price. Plus RVP is the most over priced player.

    "Captains Poll"

I often wonder do people vote for the "overall" best captain choice (ie of all players available) or do they vote for the best captain choice within their own team? % of ownership my skew the Poll results...

Anyway, I have Captained Aguero this week against the Poll.

There is often a big diff between the Capt Poll and the RMT function..

The RMT function is more accurate.

Ulloa is hotly tipped in the Poll but not so much in RMT.

Either him or Costa for the Captaincy.
Thinking of going with Ulloa but it could be a mess up!!

It's a great table, don't get me wrong. I want to show you the stats but unfortunately those tables are hard to portray players that have played less. So here are my stats:

Tadic - 499 minutes, 9 chances created, 13 goal attempts, 5 shots on target.

              Mane - 67 minutes, 3 CC, 3 GA, 2 SoT.

So tadic averages 1 chance per 55 mins, 1 GA per 38 mins and 1 Sot per 100 mins.

Mane averages 1 chance per 22 mins, 1 GA per 22 mins and 1 Sot per 34 mins...

Pretty equal if not favourable towards Mane in FPL terms the way I see it Doos.

The Raheem vs Raheem comparison (gw 1-3 vs the last 4) shows an improvement - but while he is still registering shots in the box they are no longer from the danger zone but the edge of the area.

That's why his only attacking returns in the last weeks have been that one wonder goal vs West Ham

He has 1 less SiB than Lukaku and Tadic, and the same as Rooney. In 1/3 of the minutes. Also, 4 more than Sigurdsson.

              Lampard - 0.047 SiB/minute ---- 14.2 minutes per chance ---- 42.5 mins per goal

              Costa ----- 0.041 SiB/minute-----19.9 minutes per chance ----- 59.8 mins per goal

That's fine and dandy but you don't score with every shot you take and if he plays on 15 mins and can only get one shot off - (25% is a very healthy conversion ratio) you may have to wait 4 games for you're one goal.

His stats are also inflated by the virtue of being a sub..

Erik Pieters (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈeː.rɪk ˈpi.tərs]) (born 7 August 1988) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a left back for Premier League club Stoke City and the Dutch national team.

Pieters began his career with Utrecht and made his professional debut in August 2006. He impressed enough at the Stadion Galgenwaard to earn a move to PSV Eindhoven in July 2008 for €2.5 million. At PSV he won the Johan Cruijff Shield in 2008 and the KNVB Beker in 2011–12 and also became a regular member of the Dutch national team. Injuries hampered his progress in 2012–13 before he moved to English side Stoke City in June 2013 for €3.6 million.
